I think everyone needs to read the deal from November before making comments about locking and whether you can use a Boost Sim. Plus, also this deal from early November with similar comments when it was also $39 from Officeworks.

Or just say multiple people confirm "Works with Boost but cannot display data usage"

  • How do ppl unlock this things nowadays? Still buying unlock code from ebay?

    • +1

Not available on ebay anymore sadly.

    • +3

Not ebay, but there are a few sites (eg cellcorner) which sell codes but they want USD40.

I don't consider "pay dodgy site $60" vs "pay Telstra $80" to be much of a bargain.

      • isnt it use it for 24 months, then unlock for free ?

        • Yes it is, but I assume others want to use it immediately with another carrier.

  • Do these work with postpaid services or just Prepaid?

  • I got officeworks staff said they do not match prepaid products

    • +3

Can't see that in their terms and conditions. Stand your ground with these greedy corporate bastards.

    • +1

I've had them say this too, plus a number of other products they say they don't match despite not being in their T&Cs. I have wasted so much time there that I now no longer shop there and just go straight to the source rather than trying to save an extra 5%. Not worth my time anymore.

    • +1

You can call their customer service number and buy it with them and pick up, especially if you local are difficult with matching

I'm guessing the device is locked to Telstra?

  • Bugger just bought a TP-Link mifi device

  • seems like an old device with no review and only an unboxing on YT

    • from memory, circa 2017

  • +1

I purchased one and can verify its compatibility with Boost prepaid SIM cards. The only drawback is that it doesn't display usage information on the screen.

  • Any reports using with Woolworths sims? (Telstra Wholesale)

  • whats the best provider to use? i need internet until my nbn kicks on in a couple weeks so at least a 100gb
