A deal for those who bought a Meta Quest 2 in the recent Black Friday deals, and like me have come to realise the included speakers are a bit rubbish.

Given the high latency, standard earbuds won’t work however in the VR P10s, Soundcore by Anker seems to have produced a good product specifically to account for the latency.

    Got the daughter a quest 3 for Xmas so do these work as you mentioned quest 2 also is the sound on the q2 and q3 that bad you need earphones?
    Starting to wonder maybe why I got the quest to begin with head strap supposed to be uncomfortable sound poor etc.
    I think I read it watched a vid regarding sound on the quest can’t remember which and using earphones with the quest affect the game play??

    Is there something similar to this offer but less in cost that does not affect the gaming side? I assume it would need to be there types or earphones as you probably can’t get over ear ones to fit while using quest

      Hey. You don’t need headphones for Quest 3. Sound is perfectly fine. I use these earphones just to not disturb family in evening.

        Ok so sound is good with q3 that’s good, so no advantage getting these or wasting money on this to just kill a bit of background sound we may hear? I’m sure there are much better accessories to get for q3 than this. Like a case to hold the device etc.
        I suppose these come up on offer regularly

          If little bit of background noise isn’t an issue. You 100% don’t need these.

          My essential accessories are replacement strap (ie elite strap or other 3rd party) I also like the charging station which is silly expensive but means I have a set place to store the thing and it’s always ready to go.

    These would be handy but the USB C plug on my Quest is taken up by the external power bank. Is there a power pass through adaptor that allows you to have both plugged in at the same time?

    I have these. Use them on both quest 2 and 3.

    Sound quality is decent. Battery life lasts ages.

    The dongle has power pass through and when connected it immediately pairs to the earphones.

    They can handle being dropped and sweat (I use them with Fit XR a lot)

    If you have a quest headset these are a very good accessory.

    I have some wired ones also but (and maybe I’m just too stupid) I kept pulling them out of my ears during workouts.

    I'm new to earbuds, is this suitable for watching YouTube and phone calls?

      Yes, although anything marketed as "gaming' you will be paying a higher premium for reduced latency, which isn't something you will need for watching videos and making phone calls so you're probably better off just getting regular wireless earphones.

    I have a pair of these. There is very little length in the USB C connector, so we have trouble using it with other devices that have cases, such as an iPad. Also the dongle placement inside the case is not ideal.

    I also have a pair of JBL Quantum TWS that I got from Amazon for $98. I prefer the sound on the JBL, the USB dongle is much easier to put in and out, and the dongle has some length to it to fit onto devices with cases.

    These Soundcore VR P10 do allow for audio calls whilst gaming, and have pass through. The JBLs don't have either.

    one shows charging is only 5v/3a (no PD) the other shows 9v/2a PD is possible. not sure why the difference, but the PD charging post is more recent so hopefully it's fixed with firmware.
