Lebara 30-Day Prepaid Mobile SIM 4GB $4/ 35GB $9 (Double Data if Activated by 26th March) @ Woolworths (in Store Only)

710

Grabbed the $9 (reduced from $29.90) pack from my local Woolies (forgot to take a pic!). Noticed the $4 was also on sale (reduced from $14.90). Looks like Lebara are also discounting these to $7/$12 on their website:https://www.lebara.com.au/prepaid-plans/30-day/ but Woolies looks to be cheaper still. Not sure if this price is across all Woolworths though!

$4 sim is handy for sim sluts.

  • Same for virgin sims in coles this week

  • +1

Esim ready too from the online store, nice

  • When do these need to be activated by?

    • +2

      Whenever your pack expires

    • I have no problem when I activated an expired pack.

    • +1

I phoned up and was told within 60 days of purchase

      • Not in my case. I still can activate even pass expire date and aslo bought more than 6 months earlier.

        • Interesting. Maybe like Vodafone you have 12 months after purchase to activate.

This the best option if you need to port out from boost and then port back in? Or anything cheaper?

    • +3

Yeah 4 bucks is too much lol

      • What can you get for cheaper?

        • I don't know either but I'm hoping there is something else

        • Last i asked this question a few months back Lebara was the suggested option

    • +3

Buy a ton of these and $4+ Boost SIM - you will NEVER pay for phone plans again

      • Yeah, or at least until you get “something went wrong!”

        • -1

          Lol gold

  • I use these $4 sims to port my main number away from boost each month. Never grants me the bonus 4GB data however.

    • +1

It does give the 4GB bonus but it is confusing as it says 4GB and then has a separate section that says 4GB as well

      • I didn't have a separate section that says 4GB. I'm currently on a Boost cycle, I'll have another look when I'm on Lebara again. Doesn't really matter anyway as I use next to no data on my main number.

        • just curious. do we need to stay away from boost for 28 days before port back as "new customer"?

or it can just be done the next day after switching to another supplier like Lebara?

          • @lansome: Doesn't have to be 28 days. I don't know the minimum time as I've never tested it.

            • @wavesgreen: I suppose this also means we don't need to stay away from Lebara for more than 30 days?

In the past, people on here said Kogan (another Vodafone MVNO) required over 30 days until porting back in.

          • @lansome: I've port back to Boost after 6 days

    • +3

Bonus 4GB (I got 5 GB this time) data is for choosing auto recharge

      • +1

        Ah. Good to know.

  • The network has been so bad for me it even make my phone slow. I don’t think I’d ever go Lebara again. Just horrendous coverage for me - Sydney north west

    • Living near Sydney T4 lane, Vodafone have the best coverage. YMMV

    • +1

Yeah, I tried them recently and the coverage was so bad around Perth that I switched after two weeks.

  • +3

Do remember to keep a receipt and the Sim package, as I have had several Lebara Sim didn't register properly on Woolies system and have to online chat/ email Lebara support to get it activated.

    No receipt= no luck

    • +1

“Thank you for going paperless. Your receipt is in your everyday rewards App.”

      • +3

that's the shop receipt, I meant the little piece of paper receipt confirming the sim number is registered, it'll come out even if your woolies shop receipt is paperless. A photo of that is good enough.

        • +1

Ah yes, I forgot about that. Same when you get gift cards.

        • +4

          Yes. Activation slip.

    • I lost the receipt and thankfully the lady was nice enough to activate it for me without it..

  • When do you have to activate after buying?

  • Sorry for the stupid question. But are these discounted prices only for the first 30 days and after that, each recharge goes back to the normal prices?

    • I think so, unless you change the sim every single month and throw them away.

    • Yes, just port to boost on the last day and repeat each month.

  • brought this and got Sim not found…from another post need to sent email to care team with phone reciept+sim number…gonna contact them tomorrow.

    • Before you do that, try activating via the website instead of the app, if you haven't already.

    • Don't the receipts say may take up to 48 hrs before being able to active? Was the purchase more than 48 hrs ?

    • sims dont get scanned properly at checkout, happened to me chat sorted it in 5 minutes, no receipt.

      • +1

        got sorted in the chat..

  • I bought the $29.90 Sim card from Woolworths yesterday. Activated it 2 hours ago. Didn't get the bonus 35gb.. what do I do next?

    • +1

      Did you choose auto recharge?

      • Is auto recharge required?

        • +1

To get the bonus data yeah, see nocure's comment above.

  • Is the $4 one available in NSW stores? My local does not have any sign displayed for the price/promotion. Also, the catalogue only shows the $9 one.

    • Qld sims are not labeled, scans $4 at checkout
