Help with Son Selling Xbox One S

Would love any tips/help/advice in regards to my son 13yo selling his Xbox One S.

Not sure on the pricing as they seem to be selling anywhere from $150 to $250. It was bought in 2019, is 1tb and he wants to include 6 games and a controller (not 100% sure if the Bluetooth still works). The games are NBA 2K14, 2K17, 2K18, 2K21 and FIFA 20 and 22.
Am I best to list it on Facebook Marketplace or eBay and what is the safest method of payment.

Sorry for all the questions. I've just never sold anything like this before and have literally no idea where to begin.

Thanks in advance.

I recently sold my Xbox Series S on Facebook Market Place. You need to be cautious of scammers though. To be safe accept cash only at pick up. Be realistic with pricing too, it's probably not worth as much as you hope. I only got $200 for 12 month old Series S.

    • nice! ive been thinking of buying an xbox sx so thanks for the price check.

those games you have are too cheap at the moment, maybe only worth up to $20 all together. So don't try to add too much value for the bundle. Reasonable price from my view, $150 all together. Do face-to-face selling and cash only.

Start at $200, decrease if it doesn't sell.

Also, people will offer less than what you list it for. If you list it at $200 people will offer $20-$150 and get angry if you don't accept.

And then they'll agree to a price, turn up and they'll be $20 to $50 short.

If they do that turn them away, discourage such behavior.

        • Every god damn time

      • And ask the crap out of you with the silliest questions !

Cash only! Don't accept any other forms of payment or you may subject yourself to scammers like https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/795690.

Call EB games and get a trade price if you're concerned

    You've only listed two.

Try on FaceBook Marketplace. Gumtree still gets views but it’s old hat, and sparsely viewed compared with marketplace. I personally wouldn’t bother with eBay, it’s too much of a headache if people want to claim that things don’t work, and shipping is hefty.

Have a look at other listings for similar items in your area and what they are selling for, and price accordingly based on condition etc. Sure, you can ask above, but if other people are selling for less, chances are you might struggle to sell.

When you list it I would suggest saying that you are selling it AS IS, and in its current condition, and I would also only say cash. When you get the cash you can check it by trying to rip it. Real cash won’t rip. You can also check for the presence of the hologram, and use scrunch and smooth where you scrunch it up in your hand and if it unfolds smooth again straight away it’s genius genuine.

You can say that someone is able to test it before they purchase it - expect that people will want to. I’d want to. But I’d say something like, “You are welcome to test the XBOX before purchase to ensure peace of mind.” And also say, somewhere else, that it’s sold as is. Just so that it doesn’t seem like you’re saying, you can test it, but it actually doesn’t work, sort of thing.

But yeah, cash is king. I insist on cash.

    Hope that helps.

I got a Series S for $150 which is miles better than the One S you are trying to flog, if you get $100 for it take it.

Just because they are listed for $150-250 does not mean they will sell for that amount..

Where did you get a working Series S for $150 from?
A quick ebay search shows them going for $300 give or take…

      • Marketplace..I've seen plenty for $200-250 but they sell very quickly

  • Thanks for all your replies and suggestions. Greatly appreciated.
