Same. It's a complete frustration.
They should hold back on promo of Coles gift cards until they fix this as it holds up the queue when I shop.
Have you found a way to use the voucher? Print it out??
I just copy the barcode and add Coles gift card to my Google pay and no issue at all
@AUuser: +1 for this. Maybe they can include an 'add to wallet' button in the mails eventually same as Ticketek tix. It's also a bit of a drag updating the GC balance after each tran.
It does scan better if you print it out but I don't bother. See the tips I posted below, works seamlessly for me every time.
It's actually a longstanding issue at Coles's end. What I tend to do is copy the gift card number and paste it into a barcode generator (stocard app for example) to get around this issue.
Never had a problem with the pdf barcodes myself. Here's a couple of tips that may help:
Zoom in and rotate your phone to get the barcode to take up most of the screen in landscape and screenshot. Although I personally find it scans better in portrait.
Use a self checkout.
Scan the barcode on the bed scanner NOT the little flybuys scanner.
When you scan it, kind of tilt your phone thru 45° where the two meet in the right angle of the bed.
Increasing brightness setting can help

We don't generate the barcodes ourselves, these do come from Coles so we are limited in what we can to here, definitely pass on your feedback about this to Colese directly where possible as they're the best folks to help you out here. I have passed on feedback to the gift cards team who work with Coles here in the hopes they can pass it on you behalf, but in the meantime it seems that if you turn the brightness on your phone up and zoom in using your phone on landscape mode you won't have the same trouble. I worked out it is their scanner screen.
They wipe over the registers with some cleaner that leaves an oily surface.
Wipe either the big self checkout screen, or little flybuys screen. Works every time.
I've never had to wipe anything (and that's a big Eff No from me anyway) and it scans on the main bed scanner every time. Flybuys scanner not so much.
I always wipe the big screens (Woolies and Coles) with the back of my hand, flybuys scanner with my thumb. You will notice how much cleaner the glass is when you scrub it even with your hand. If there is a clear bit, someone has already done it..
Went from rarely working,.to working every time.
As I say, no way in hell I'm running my hands over a self checkout.

The bonus 2.5% doesn't show when buying through the Westpac bonus $5 link. It shows as 0.5%. If i buy just through Gift Cards it shows 2.5% but how do i know if the $5 will be credited if i use my Westpac card?
