Going to Bali in November so I thought I'd check a couple of places on this site and others.

Ubud Green Garden Villa is ~$142/night after discount & taxes, agoda etc. are more around the $165-$175 range including taxes. Tjampuhan Hotel Agung room is ~$71/night after discount & taxes, agoda etc. are around the $80-$115 range.

I decided to check something a little further afield, in Beijing the Legendale Grand Deluxe room is $111.50/night on this deal and all the rest were ~$175/night.

Looks to be genuinely ~15-35% less than other competitors (watch out when comparing to other sites, they don't always include taxes & tariffs which can easily add 10-20% to the final price).

    Good deal.

    • don't get me wrong but Ratestogo ALWAYS has a 15% off sale and rarely has it been the cheapest for me…

I actually found Ubud Green a little cheaper for you… ;)

Hotels.com - use this coupon for $50 off : AUROCK
      Sample dates - 16 Nov - 19 Nov - Ubud Green Garden Villa - $140/night
      Total: $420.76

Hotels.com - use this coupon for 10% off : 268AN93K or AUROCK for 7 nights($50 off total inc. tax).
      Sample dates - 16 Nov - 19 Nov - Tjampuhan Hotel Agung room - $71~/night
      Total: $215.23

Beijing was quite expensive with Hotels.com…

Don't forget to check Wego.com.au and all those Groupon websites, even the ones made for Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, etc…

      • Yes, I'll often brouse the numerous social buying sites in S.E.Asia however many do not accept an Aus visacard for payment nor accept payment through paypal if they have that. mydeal.com.my being one. All trial and error to test once you've found the bargain you want.

      • For the USA RatesToGo when combined with the 15%-20% off codes they have, has always come out cheaper for me. This is after comparison with Wego and HotelsCombined. YMMV.

      • Hotels.com is only cheaper for a VERY short stay like the 3 night one you put in. For the length of my stay (11 days) hotels.com ends up being $155/night for Ubud Green.

I think you're really heavily cherry picking a couple of instances where hotel.com is a wee bit better when in the vast majority of situations this deal is noticeably better.

        • Well you didn't mention your length or stay, so people can only provide so much help, I'm not Cherry picking instances, as they are clearly cheaper, those are called facts. Can you give us the dates so we can help as well ? lol

Besides, for a 10 night stay you would use the 10% off coupon not the $50 off.., there are 2 coupons if you've not noticed.

          Use this coupon: 268AN93K

        • I'm not Cherry picking instances, as they are clearly cheaper

Yes, that's called cherry picking. Taking one of the very few instances where you're right and ignoring the majority of instances when you're wrong.

          I've already organised my accommodation.

OP pls add these rules or link to it, thanks !

  • Is this website trustworthy? I saw one 5 stars hotel like $146 per night

    • I'm betting the star ratings are user reviewed star ratings not any kind of actual accredited star rating, and users always factor in budget to their score so you can get 2 star level accommodations getting 5 star ratings.

Be careful about buying on impulse as Ratestogo charges $25 for all cancellations, even if the hotel doesn't take any fees for cancellation. I've found Ratestogo prices in Hong Kong to be cheaper than other sites on average.

    • Thanks for pointing this out - they don't make finding this little gem easy!

      https://faq.ratestogo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/16497/kw/c…

    • Looks like they've removed the $25 fee and will only pass on any charges they incur:

Does RatesToGo charge a fee to change or cancel a hotel booking?
We understand that your plans may change. RatesToGo will only charge a small cancellation or amendment fee. However, if the hotel is charging a fee to change or cancel your booking, we are required to pass this on to you.
To view the hotel's cancel policy, go to you're My Bookings. In the relevant booking, click on 'Show detailed hotel reservation information'. On this page, you will find your complete reservation details including the cancellation policy.

The cancellation policy will also be displayed on your hotel confirmation voucher. Please check this carefully prior to making your changes.
