Does anyone regularly use these codes

    • +6

For starters there are no "codes". Yes I use these discounts all the time.

    • +3

I usually hold off on buying things until there's a sale event because it's a little cheaper.

    Beware!
    AliExpress is overcharging GST

I purchased items to the value of $21.14
    10% GST comes to $2.11
    AliExpress charged $3.71
    Comes to17.5%

I tried to complian and asked for a $1.60 refund in overcharged GST but with 'bots" running the place, the reply you get is that they must apply GST by Australian law.

Dont know where to take this for a resolution???

    So my colleges
Check the amount of GST being charged by AliExpress

ATO. You can download an invoice from the order details which has an identifying number. It's not an ABN but something else the ATO use for companies overseas and not registered with an ABN here. I forgot the name.

I've noticed that as well. I wonder how much of that the Australian government is seeing…

    • +5

I have notice this too. I think so they are calculating GST on totals before any discounts or coupons.

They definitely are. I noticed this during the black friday sales.

      AliExpress is overcharging GST

Aliexpress has become a scam and they only deal with you with a bot.
Asking for refunds for not as described items is a nightmare and you waste your time.
They asked me to return an item at my expenses whose value was ~$3 while delivery to China was ~$30 because it was a large (light) item.
They even pretended a track number and failing so they closed my case.
I got my money back after I made a complaint to PayPal (another scammer) but was worth all that work and stress to get ~$4 back?

Go look at www.temu.com.au , they got similar staff from China (also different one), they give you a $5 voucher if the item arrives after the scheduled date (I got the voucher), refunds are painless, I received 2 not as described items, the refund was in real time plus they told me not to return the items!!!
They have a warehouse in Sydney and most of the time items are already in stock.
If Aliexpress continues on this scam like path, they will soon lose all foreign customers because more and more other marketplace platforms like Temu are becoming popular.

If you think Aliexpress is a 'scam', perhaps you should look a little closer at Temu.

3 dud purchases in the last month for me and its such a pain in the ass getting refunds its not worth the effort.
all the products were described incorrectly or defective
also starting to think its better buying elsewhere as the 'buyer protection' is just not there

          • @franco cozzo:

starting to think its better buying elsewhere

Believe me try Temu, instant live chatting instead of AliScammers bot, instant Live refund with choice of voucher or directly in your bank account.
$5 free voucher is the items arrive later, some items arrived 3 days later so I received the voucher, everything is done by an automatic e-mail from Temu, no need to deal with AliScammers bot!
Don't listen to these trolls here, AliScammers would be better to employ real humans to deal with complaints instead of giving carrot sticks to trolls in the forums!

perhaps you should look a little closer at Temu

I did and I'm happily shopping there right now and I explained very clearly why.
Perhaps uneducated trolls and Aliexpress bandwagon fanbois can't give any explanation so all they know is clicking on the neg button LOL

        • Temu is fine.
          They have some great prices.
The main problem with Temu is that they blast you with advertising.
But you can swich that off and I suggest -do not install the Temu app on your phone!

  • Combines with the AENY codes from this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/820723#comment-14737800

    • Didn't work for me. Said 'This coupon code can't be used in combination with other discounts'

  • Hi all, when does it expire? Thanks a lot

    • +1

Should be 23 Dec at 7pm AEDT.

  • Wow. First time I used Ali was yesterday, if only I waited a day

  • Nice post! Time to finally get a ceramic croc

pleasantly surprised by Aliexpress. Ordered something last week to Perth, also ordered something else from Sydney on Ebay the same day and Aliexpress order has already arrived. How (profanity) is our domestic shipping?

    • +1

I've consistently been receiving faster shipping from AliExpress than Amazon or anything over east in Perth the last month or so. Odd but not mad about it 😂

  • Thanks for bringing this sale to my attention. I thought it all ended for the year after the 11.11 sales. Stacked with the codes from the previous AliExpress post so I saved about $27 off my $120 order. Strangely, AliExpress charges more than 10% gst now… Didn't do the math but it was more like 12-13%
