I've been waiting 4 weeks for delivery for mine. Don't believe the shipping time, Amazon says there are merely estimates.

    • Yep if you want it soon forget about Amazon .

Took them over a month to deliver my Vacuum
Called them and they said we can refund,
      Just send it !

      • Passive aggressive tactics 101

Works in most cases, but less effective against my wife

        • That sucks.

    • Mine arrived yesterday from the black Friday sales. Estimate was all over the shop. Said 3-10 days originally, then Jan 10th, but arrived 22nd Dec.

It's the best vac I've ever used. Replaced a dyson animal hand stick and dyson big ball. Dysons plasticky parts were all snapping/cracking. The Miele has a way better power head. My carpets and rugs are as clean as new

  • +5

We purchased this to replace a Dyson upright.
My wife absolutely loves it. Does a way better job than the Dyson and is easier to use.
I didn't find the upright as cumbersome but definitely notice this thing cleans better.

    • +1

out of curiosity. how does it do better?
I hate shilling for overpriced products, but I can't thinking of a single metric to improve my dyson (V15), if anything it sucks too much on carpet. Battery lasts well over my whole house etc.

      • +5

More hygienic (bags vs bagless). Better cleaning & suction. Higher quality. Longer lasting & more reliable. Less maintenance cost/time.

Dysons are convenient, but that's about it. That is absolutely what they're designed for though, so it's fair.

      • Having a cat I find it great for the furniture, it can even take anything stuck to the floor (like bits of mud or whatever) straight off.

But I moved to a house with all hard floors and I never use it anymore, just use a xiaomi stick vacuum (or a broom). It comes out once every few months for really good clean of furniture/curtains/etc, otherwise it just tends to lift up the rugs when I use it.

I swear these were 3xx 4 -5 years back. Does anyone know if anything's changed at all with these models, or are they exactly the same?

    • +1

Bought one at those prices a few years back. Still working great!

    • +2

      inflation

  • Does anyone who has one of these rate them? Was just in GoodGuys looking at this one.
Of course they were trying to flog their extended warranty with it.

    • +5

Bought the same model a few years back. Hasn't missed a beat.

    • +2

Don't have the exact model, but the C3 complete (not cat and dog) but I believe the difference is in the attachments? They're great, no major dramas. I just change the bag/filters when needed.

The head that this comes with is really good on carpet though, I bought the attachment separately.

    • +3

Worlds better then Dyson cordless. Don’t buy into the marketing.

    • +1

      Amazing vacuum.

  • +8

I have this model - bought probably ~10 years ago and still running strong. They are good units and vacuum well.

    • Can second this. Have had for over a decade. It still has powerful sucking and no part has broken on it. Only had to replace the standard filters and bags which you can buy cheap online if you don't need the advanced hepa filters

  • +4

An excellent machine. As noted above, MUCH better than the Dyson, but I find the Dyson easier to use. Dyson for quick clean-ups, Miele for a proper clean.

    • +1

Yep, the right tool for the job is the way.

  • This might be a stupid question but how do these rate compared to a cheap $100 vacuum? It just sucks better?

    • Pretty much. Robust design that stands the test of time.

    • +2

Will just about pull the carpet up on the strongest setting. Better air filtering with the various charcoal/ allergen filters. More/ better attachments. Probably cheaper in the long run as they don't break and years of way better cleaning.

    • -1

      It just sucks better?

Yep, just like most wives before marriage, it simply will suck better.

  • Bugger, got this model but after many, many years (maybe 15) it has a loud squeal from the motor. I suspect a bearing. Bought the C3 Family All-Rounder yesterday to replace it. Cost $405 with $50 cash back offer from NAB with their Now Pay Later scheme.

    • I’ve got a similar aged one and compared to the Dyson barrell, v8 and v10, the old Miele leaves them for dead

      • +1

Seems like Dyson suck a lot of buyers in. I would never own a Dyson, of any sort..

        • Thankfully two were gifted (like my Dyson fan). I bought the v10

But yeah. All products look pretty but are pretty useless

  • I price matched this at JB via chat, albeit a bit dearer, earlier in the year. Same price as amazon, free delivery, got it in about 2 days.

Would recommend, best vacuum I’ve had or used.

  • +2

Just bear in mind that this version DOES NOT come with a hepa filter even though the Amazon ad states that it does. It comes with an activated charcoal filter. If you need a proper hepa filter it's about another $50. I realised this when I received mine during the black Friday sales, but credit to Amazon, they refunded me the price of the hepa filter so I just bought it from them.

    • Just bear in mind that this version DOES NOT come with a hepa filter even though the Amazon ad states that it does

Yeah, Amazon consistently fail at having accurate production descriptions. Nothing new there.

The C3 Complete Allergy is the model that comes with a bundled HEPA filter. The C3 Cat & Dog and Family versions do not.

    • I asked customer support and they gave me $20 credit voucher

  • Used to want one but got a stick vac and never looked back.

  • +3

Have one of these from about 15 years ago and it won't die. The suction is as powerful as ever.

If you want a proper high quality vacuum cleaner, get this instead of a crappy unhygienic Dyson. This is the best vacuum on the market imo.

  • Great vacuum, I've had a C3 Complete Allergy for a long, long time now and it's still going strong.

The only gripe I have with this vacuum is the noise level on the highest suction setting. I measured a peak sound level of 85db when you're standing next to the vacuum, which is definitely not good for your ears, so I normally wear in-ear headphones with good passive noise-cancelling when I'm vacuuming with my C3 as using it in confined spaces around the house is definitely loud enough to be detrimental to your hearing after 30 minutes or so.

    • I mean how often would you have to use that highest setting though, I'm usually half way or just over.

      • Depends on how much carpeting you have in your house but I've got mainly hard surfaces so I use the hard floor brush which has long bristles and doesn't make a tight seal against the surface, so I can vacuum pretty much the whole house on full blast.

Even on carpets or furniture fabrics, I find if they're low-pile you need the highest suction setting to really break apart the fibres and extract deeply-embedded crud from them. The only time I use the lower suction settings is on high-pile rugs.

        • Interesting, I use the the about half way for the whole house.

  • +3

These are one of the best vacuums you can buy.

They are better than anything i've ever used before.

Had one for like 5 years and it is still amazing.

  • Gow does the Miele Complete C2 Cat and Dog Vacuum compair to the C3… is it worth the extra money over the C2 at $349

    https://www.amazon.com.au/Miele-Compact-Vacuum-Cleaner-Autum…

    • +1

I've been researching this as I'm wondering the same. From my findings, this one has a larger 4.5l bag vs the c2's 3.5l. This has a longer cord and a few extra features such as storage compartment and foot buttons. Otherwise, they all (c1, c2, c3, compact or classic) perform the same given the same attachments. The c3 might have a better filter than the c2 but they are all interchangeable. If you just want a good, no frills vac, the c2 seems like a better deal to me as the canister doesn't really make a difference besides extra niceties/bag size.

  • I think the blizzard CX1's are their top of the range right? Anyone know how they differ apart from being bagless? I'd rather go bagless than have to buy bags, emptying the dust is no probs

    • +1

bagless has more maintenance, worse performance, worse reliability

  • +2

I'm still using my Miele big cat & dog in green like this one that I bought 20 years ago 3-4 times a week and it hasn't missed a beat, and the good thing is the accessories from my newly bought C1 compact are compatible with the old one. You can even download 3D printing files for some accessories (like the very useful bubble attachment) from here.

  • What bags do people recommend for this vacuum?

    • don't skimp on aftermarket bags, the originals are totally sealed (don't reuse them either) and many knock offs let out dust which will get into the motor and reduce lifespan/performance

    • Genuine Miele. The ones with the blue plastic connection. Check eBay, as I got mine for half the price of the regular retailers.

  • +1

    Grabbed one, thanks op.

I've owned a V10 for a couple of years and wouldn't buy Dyson again. Already had it repaired twice under warranty so needed something for when it inevitably breaks again.

  • Have this model for over six years and 2 daughters also have one. Best unit you could wish for. We were fortunate that as was a display model from TTGG they packaged it in the wrong box and have received both small and large turbo brushes. Great suction on this model. We dont have pets just for use in large house. 10/10

  • -3

I get the feeling that Miele are discontinuing all bagged vacuums and going bagless… so beware, this could be a runout model?

  • Silly question, are these units made in Germany? I have not been able to find it out from amazon site.

    • yes, the C3 line is German made

  • This sucks

  • Received mine today after buying day of post; and wow!

Can see why people love these things, definitely the best vacuum I've ever tried (not that it's many; main expensive one being a dyson)

  • Does anyone know the difference between this 2000W model and the newer(?) 890W model?

    https://www.godfreys.com.au/miele-eco-complete-c3-cat-dog-ba…

    • I’m not sure but I went with the newer model. I think it has a heap filter and a different motor but otherwise pretty much the same.

Godfrey’s and good guys couldn’t price match but I got it for $490.
