I tried out the virtual assistant for true caller and found it useful for screening calls. But for $69 a year its far to much, but at $35 it is a pretty good deal. Other benefits of the paid membership

• no ads
• see who looked you up
• look up other people
• call recording (very useful).

      they take all of your contact data so they can show others about you and people in your contact. It works both way

    You can choose not to. Asks to verify your number, but you can skip giving access to your address book.

  I am bit sceptical on using assistant. This feature is not baked into the app. It actually forward your calls to a Truecaller number and assistant get access to what caller is saying. It is not done on the device.
