  • I think the better deal is getting the full amount back as a voucher, that way it effectively costs $0 if you make a $50 purchase.

    • +2

Yeah the $50 coupon for minimum $50 purchase was pretty awesome that's how I signed up a few years back.

  • Joined on a similar deal a month or so ago.

Now I have 2 additional $20 vouchers for some reason.

    Not that I’m complaining :)

  • thanks op joined. How do I get the $20 voucher?

  • I joined during Black Friday, it was $9.99 then as well. Paid for itself many times over with eBay plus BF price reduction deals incl. some free delivery deals: the $505 Xbox series X, car audio deals, dashcam, wine boxes. Thought $9.99 was the normal price. Anything over $20 is probably a stretch as a subscription, depends on use which is always going to be unknown.

  • There's no 1st month trial. I got charged $9.99. immediately.

  • Had this all day:

    It's not you. It's us.

Our server is down, but we'll have things back to normal soon. If you still need help, visit our help pages.

  • Far out man! I paid 20 bucks!

  • My mum just signed up, but her eBay Plus shows account created Dec 26 2023, expires (or next payment due) January 25th 2024, so she's only down for a month. Anyone experience this or know why it is? She did mention there were two option, 1) pay now, 2) free trial. others above in the comments mentioned 'free trial' first then it does the 1year, but I don't remember this when I signed up at the start of the year.

  • Just obtained this deal —

It showed that it was a Trail for $9.99 per month but once clicked on it says for the Year Instead!

    😎

Guess what? All I did was press free trial; selected the displayed $9.99 annual offer, paid. Pressed cancel my subscription and it offered a $30 gift card. I read the terms and conditions, accepted the gift card, and it worked. I now have 1 year to use a $30 gift card and all it cost me was $9.99 which will pay for itself in coming months anyway

    • Yeah, I got the same. Haven't received the Gift Card yet though………….but only joined up 5mins ago. Did you receive yours and if so was it via email?
It says: Gift card delivered after membership payment. Expires 3 years from issue. T&Cs apply

    • +1

I did exactly same thing and got the same offer. Though where do you see the gift card?

      • I called them to ask. The person I spoke to indicated that it should be emailed however perhaps delay on their systems. If not received within 10days to contact them and they can look into it. I saved a screenshot of the "Thank you, you've accepted the Offer", in case needed.

Mine says I have to continue my membership until after my next renewal date, which means I have to wait until my memebership automatically renews to claim? (Next year)

          • +1

@pumpkinpatch: You are correct and good point? I just checked what it states and is as per below when one selects to cancel:
The offer: You're a valued member Of eBay Plus and we'd love to keep you in the program. Would you consider staying"?.
On the same screen shows "Stay & continue your membership beyond 25 December 2024 & receive a $30 gift card'.
Kind of makes sense now that I think about it. My greedy eyes chose to ignore the 2024 part ;-)

          • +1

@pumpkinpatch: Same here, the $30 requires renewing the sub after a year, presumably at the standard cost of $49. Seems not worth it.

            • @rumblytangara: messaged ebay via chat, said not eligible even though I press the $30 for not cancelling ;(

Strongly recommend. Even at usual $49.99 I usually save $600-$800 through the 2 extra percent and gor their exclusive eBay plus sales - but constantly looking at Amazon because I have prime - how much I’m saving. This year saved almost $1000 each from both Amazon and eBay and eBay had yo sort out two sellers who never sent the goods and if I’ve lodged a complaint within a week I can just say - no contact from seller and money is usually back in my account in less than 24 hours. I know they gave money back guarantees but you don’t need to spend that much to get value from eBay Plus.

Amazon might be a lot more before you cover their new fee of $79 AUD I think?

I cut back on a lot of spending due to just no money but I still made decent savings on both. Enough to justify having them.

One deal alone I got a Philips XXL Air Fryer on prime day for half price so that one sale alone and not a thing else I would was ahead.

    Just my thoughts.

Wish I could get Amazon and eBay gift cards cheaper 2-3% is barely worth my time.

I think I might have to try the forums where I see people who must have connections and can get up tom10% off. Love to know how. This is for both eBay and Amazon.

I regularly get the giftcards that you can convert to Amazon or Ebay.

People often post when those type of cards come on sale.

      ie: Prezzee/ Special etc

Definitely above 2 or 3 % more like 6 to 10% or close to that.

  • I feel like they give you discounts even if youre not a member.

  • The deal link didn't work, but when I clicked trial the price was $9.99. My membership had concluded a couple of months ago.

    • I didn’t realise my EBay Plus expired because I maybe I forgot to update the credit card so they probably went to bill it, but as the card expired, but I know for a fact I updated all my cards in November and my renewal date was sometime in November. It’s possible when I changed my cards around that card didn’t have enough funds on it.

I only noticed it about two weeks ago and it said on the messages your eBay plus has expired.

I clicked on the link and it said click here to come back for $9.99 or something like that. It just charged me $9.99. I never tried to cancel but if I did they might offer me a $30 card or might not.

Don’t really care about it enough it take the chance but if I get a year for $9.99 I’m sure I’ll get enough vouchers during various eBay Plus sales where they give you $50 for $300 purchases. I got at least one of those in the past 12 months - the 5% ones should apply to way more commercial sellers. It’s on so few I often find it hard to spend the 5% or $5 whatever it is - I think maybe $5

  • Anyone having this issue?
“It is not you it is us” Our page is down…

    • Yep when i renewed a couple of weeks back it happened a few times then finally just worked.

      Paid $5 for 12 months

Got a gift card also ?
      No complaints from me…

Might have to make a 3rd account.

  • theres a good chance itll pay for itself even with the crappy 'discounts' you can get on ebay but even then im not sure i can be bothered to be honest. i let my membership lapse this time

  • +1

I had monthly subscription and I was seeing the option to upgrade to yearly subscription for an additional $5. However, when I would try to click that, it would not show me an error saying this offer has expired. Then I cancelled the existing monthly Plus subscription and tried to upgrade for additional $5, as that link was still showing on my plus page. It went through with no error but the expiry date didn't change and I didn't get any charge on my paypal either. I tried again and this time it said that you have already availed this offer. I gave up. Now after 10 hours, I got a charge of $5 on my paypal and the subscription renewed to Dec 2024.

Just thought to share if it helps anyone.

  • WTF, my credit card got charged $10.28 due to $0.29 foreign fee surcharge added.
