        • Apple don't sell user data to anyone.

        Oh really?
Did you forget governments? Of course, because to them it's provided for free, so you are right about selling.
Did you forget selling to the advertisers your data that has your name replaced with ID and not personal anymore from legal perspective? Which is practically trackable to each particular person of interest and becomes your PII after that.

        Another deluded Apple fan boy.

        • -2

Apple charge you up front for their devices and services. This had made them the most valuable company on the planet, if you exclude government owned oil companies. They don't need to sell your location and other personal data to make money.

          • +1

            @AustriaBargain: Like I said.

            • -1

@Wardaddy: Do you mean Google paying Apple to keep Google the default search engine? I guess that would be selling user data in a roundabout way. But if Apple set the default search engine to DDG, most people would change it to Google anyway. Personally I think Apple should buy DDG and turn it into a better search engine and make it the default. I know Steve Jobs promised Google they would stay out of Search if Google stayed out of phones, but Google already broke that agreement with Android.

It's also available on the web btw, accessible from all devices, don't need to download an app: https://copilot.microsoft.com/

  • Copilot is also built-in with mobile Edge if you use Edge as your main browser and connection between mobile and PC

  • +1

Wait, how do I get it for free? It wants to charge me $15 a month LOL

BG isn't associated so it's the same as if you posted it.

  • Whats the minimum requirement? My 2 android phones deemed not compatible with this version

It's crazy how these AI models are learning code. People underestimate the significance of that. We're going to have a lot of free time soon.

    • +4

I've been using 3.5 to make some awesome Google sheets scripts for work. It's pretty incredible how easy it is.
Sometimes it tried to do something in a very complicated way and you have to tell it to try something else.

It can get stuck in a loop bug fixing but for something that would have taken me 20 hours of googling, testing bring done in a prompt I wrote in 30 seconds, them to be able to keep making minor adjustments and additions.

For who can read and understand basic scripts and logic but has never actually written anything myself it's amazing.

      • +1

I totally agree - I've been getting it to code some basic tasks I would regularly do using Powershell - the benefits for someone who has no coding experience or syntax knowledge (but can understand and use basic scripts) are huge.

    • you wanna know something crazy I can't get over how fast the AI in Tesla's learns from its driving errors in FSD or level 2 autonomy modes. it literally will learn on the fly. And not make the same mistake again. the tech and software is very good. even when you aren't using autonomous driving modes, the car is pretty much learning still, it always feels like the car is letting you drive, not the other way round. like having a driving instructor there at all times ready to take over when you make a mistake. AI on Teslas is insanely good. chat GPT is the only AI in the public view that just works. this is why all the other companies are just using it

  • +2

Well I found out the hard way that you can't ask it certain things now I'm on a list.

Plot twist. asio already knows about you.

      • Hi asio I can be your CI

  • +1

    Amazing thanks

  • +2

Cortana is rolling in her grave

  • Isnt this already on the bing app?

  • Misleading. The chat component is very clearly still modelled in GPT-3, and the image generation is the same one Microsoft is pushing free everywhere else like Bing, Skype etc

  • I don't think it's a paid sub anymore on openAI, but maybe with the repost you don't change any deal details.

  • Is Creative mode enabled by default?

  • +1

Realistically these should all be free considering the insight they gather

  • Lol free train yourself out of a job, then complain about it after its happened, just like becoming the workers at woolies on self checkout đŸ¤£

  • +1

I wouldn't trust AI to do anything because its pretty useless you end up having to rewrite or correct its mistakes.

  • Is this different from bing app?

  • +1

You can turn on Suno in plugins menu, for song making.

  • Been using it on my iPhone. Works fine, and if you have a flux capacitor you can time travel without needing to get up to 88mph

  • +2

Gpt-4 now free in chatgpt app. So this isn't really a deal anymore

  • I just use the app Microsoft Start, useful app has news, weather and copilot and then also has a built in browser just looks cleaner

  • +1

I'm not really sure but I only get 5 prompts before having to start a new conversation which makes it no use at all. It takes me a prompt just to get it to stop spelling in American.

  • What's the verdict on copilot PC's? Worth it?

    • +1

If you don't know you need them, you don't need them. If you are using web based LLMs like ChatGPT, all the processing is done in the cloud so it doesn't matter if you're using a potato.

  • +2

    Your data is sold.

  • +3

ChatGPT free tier allows use of GPT-4o which is the most advanced model (although has a quite strict cap on prompts).
Copilot and Bing chat are a dumbed down version of ChatGPT anyway. No deal.

  • Should never download anything from private invasion / stalking creeps from corrupt micro$oft

    • All large software corporations are the same when it comes to stalking/creepy behaviour.

4.0 is bad, it can steal your bank details and be a human killer

    • Any reason you give your bank details?

  • +1

plenty of free ai apps for free now. the latest version of copilot really sucks.

AI tools, like Microsoft's, Google Gemini, and ChatGPT, have been a game-changer for me personally. They've significantly improved my professional communication by enabling me to draft emails with a level of sophistication and professionalism that I wouldn't have achieved independently.

As English is my second language, I often find myself being overly direct. AI tools have helped me to refine my communication style by adding nuance and a more engaging narrative.

However, the increasing capabilities of AI also raise concerns about the future of work. In the next decade, it's possible that AI could automate many of the tasks currently performed by humans, potentially impacting job security. This is a significant challenge that society will need to address.

    • look at how good is Google Gemini ! writing everything i want but in more easy to read language ! (this is my writing)..!

      • Lies. It’s all ai

    • +1

Will AI take over OzB soon? The new Ms Edge Shopping tool built with AI looks nice.

      • i won't be surprised if it does ! start sending us deals directly so we don't even need shopback or OzB.. ! innovation is needed for OZB to survive.

      • It’s already taken over Reddit.

  • How to tell if I get access to GPT4 whether I use Copilot on PC, on phone, or on the website? Mostly I use google search and it now also has Generative AI built in.

    • The description says creative mode. So just got turn that on

  • +1

Google Gemini 2.0 is a huge improvement when compared to Gemini 1.5 and has almost caught up with GPT4

  • Copilot is crap and a dumbed down version of chatgpt. Also the constant use of emojis is so cringe

    • Agreed. But have you tried the voice chat on it? It's freaky good. It even chuckles at funny things. It's equal parts amazing and creepy.

  • +1

Just to be clear Microsoft's GPT4 isn't the same as OpenAIs.
I think they use smaller weights, it's somewhat dumber.

  • +1

Just an update, GPT-4 has been superseded by GPT-4o, which has also replaced the previous GPT-3.5 for free ChatGPT users.

  • +3

Or just use duck.ai which has gpt4o and o4-mini among others

  • ive not tried others - copilot has been fantastic with excel formulas

  • If you use the website (copilot dot Microsoft dot com), you can use "Think Deeper" mode also for free, which gives much better results on some things.

  • Why is this still appearing as a deal? Should we post Google, Bing, Duckduckgo and yahoo as web-based search engine deals as well now?

    • +1

The repostable flag was set back way back in 2023, but I've removed it just now since the information is rather stale and out of date.

  • This may have been a deal in 2023, nowadays there's planty much better models than Copilot, available for free

    • What are the better ones?

      • +3

Gemini, ChatGPT, Meta AI, Grok, Claude, even Mistral… pretty much any free tier chatbot is better than Copilot, at least in my experience.

        • +2

I agree, makes no sense what's on offer here. Copilot is garbage, when I got it to code with some clear instructions/ rules not to break. Broke the rules constantly, always apologising, never rectifying correctly. It's just Clippy grown up.

  • Finally seeking some good advice from GPT lately and it asks for $30+ per month to upgrade lol.

Wondering if I need to switch over to Copilot or if it's ok with GPT 3.5.

    • Gpt 3.5 has been deprecated long time ago. You're good with free tier chatgpt, which is 4o

      • Thanks for pointing that out. I thought it was still with the old 3.5 one. 4o should be decent enough for my personal everyday I think.
