I like the below deal as well that I found due to this post.

DETROIT 25M EXTENSION LEAD REEL https://www.totaltools.com.au/196028-detroit-25m-lead-extens…

I was looking for an extension lead when my 25M heavy duty extension lead by Click died on me last weekend.

    • Post it as a deal, decent price. 👍

    • Ordered 1 of these too! Cheers

  • Interesting. I was able to place order for click and collect when it was oos. Hopefully I'm able to get it after they get stock

    • Yeah I was able to do the same. Waiting for it to get cancelled, best case I can pick it up when they restock.

  • My car is a coupe and i was hoping to do my own oil change. I've seen the youtube videos and it seems simple. Is there anything else i would need to buy to keep it safe whilst i go under to drain the old oil?

always use a fail safe like aluminium or steel blocks to ensure the car stays at the lifted position while you go under it, even if the fancy stands or jacks fail.

        Also doesn't hurt to

        a) Keep the jack at the height of the jack stands, so that if they for whatever reason fail the car may still be caught by the jack, and

        b) Once you have the tyre off, lay it flat under the side of the car so - as with the example above - if the jack stand and jack both fail, the tyre may stop the car from completely falling on you.

    • Coupe? What make?

      • Toyota 86

        • There will be SOOOO many videos on youtube of how to do an oil change on an 86, go watch a few. Otherwise just stick with the standards like Mighty Car Mods or ChrisFix

    • I have a 1992 celica coupe and dont even need to jack the car to do an oil change. Just slip a cointainer to catch the oil under first, then undo the sump plug nut above it and watch it drain out, easy peasy :P

  • Bugger. I think they're out of stock. "Unable to find stock level for this product at your selected store. Please select another store."

  • Would I be able to bring a digital copy of the invoice to collect OR do I need a printed copy?

  • I'm getting a refund. The supplier is out of stock. :(

    • Really? I got burned with a good special price and order once. Looks more like a pattern to harvest membership data.Unless it says out of stock on their website, contact support and ask to get one in somewhere close by.If they are still advertising it they should honour the order , and that's the point I made.I had the so called out of stock item a week later. In my situation they claimed no stock, and refunded me, then nek minnit their site had same thing @ higher price (day after order) in the 'no stock' store.
KEEP AN EYE ON THESE GUYS!

  • Nice quality had some weight and sturdy as hell, must be Aussie made

Bottlejacks will be fine to lift the car, just make sure the height lowered is lower than the designated jacking point.
Find the clearance a bit tight sometimes for sedans/coupes, and if the car is on a slight hill it might not fit. Fine for most SUVs/4WDs
Other downsides is that it doesn't work well on uneven surfaces, and slightly less stable as it doesn't move as the car gets lifted.

    • Most cars come with a bottle jack for emergency wheel changes. They're usually slow and a pita to operate but do the job of lifting your wheel off the ground. Anyone doing regular maintenance (inc oil changes) will quickly find the convenience of a trolly jack is worth the extra cost.

Assuming you value your health, obviously bottle jacks are NOT (shouldn't be) replacements for stands if you're going under your vehicle, even for a short time.

  • Went to a local Total Tools, inquired about the jack stands, said they had one, but wouldn't sell it for $29.95. Said the sale had allocated stock at the special price & had no more stock, but she could sell me the stands for like $40 something, which is probably still a good price, but gave it a miss.

    • Strange, I got Total Tools to scan the jack stands I bought, and they came up as $29.95 same as online price.

    • Moot point now but they cannot refuse to give you the advertised price unless it stipulated 'online only'. It doesn't, in fact there appears to be no caveats at all. For something of such low value it's very poor customer relations. Best thing to do is have the ad ready on your phone.

  • Can this lift your mumma

Available to order for click and collect again. Time to do some DIY car servicing!

    • ooh interesting. All the nearby stores for me show

Temporarily out of stock. Please allow up to 3 months before collection. Special order conditions apply. Alternatively select another store.

Shipping to my postcode also says:

Unable to deliver at this address, please enter another delivery address or use Click & Collect.

What state/area are you in? Thinking maybe it might just be Melbourne. Will edit the post if someone else can confirm.

      • Yes, I did click and collect for Mitcham store in Melbourne. Yet to get a confirmation for ready to collect.

      • Canberra (Fyshwick) appears to have them. I'm looking for stands with much bigger reach but this is a great price and top find.
