      It's the country road website…
      countryroad.com.au
Not sure what's seeing off your alarm bells to even ask?

        • +6

Security wise is unimportant what's at the start of a URL.
You should only care about the part immediately before the .com

        • Lmao google subdomain

          • -1

@pixpotato: so many smart people like you on the internet.

      • +2

How about going to the main page and then click up the top that would divert you to their outlet page?
        https://www.countryroad.com.au/

        • -2

Fair enough, only noticed that after seeing enyacat's post'

The website still looks a bit dodge though, not very professionally made for such a large company.

          • -1

@jon: Outlet stores are purposely designed to be bland to reflect the sale aspect.

      • +1

eStar is who runs the e-commerce system at Country Road.

Source: Worked at David Jones when it was bought out by Country Road Group, so David Jones is now also run by eStar

The logo on the home page is an SVG.
The logo on the outlet is a PNG.
That's why you're seeing quality differences.

Why? Different teams are in charge of the different parts of the website? Different engineers? Contractors came in to hack it together? Different time periods when those banners were created? Unsure.

looks like they used a cheap template platform to create the website

Not sure if you are aware how many huge companies use Shopify, WordPress, Canva… Etc.

    • Damn people are nasty!

  • +12

    Certainly look like 29.95$ worth

    • +23

FYI, when writing a dollar value, the dollar sign goes before the numbers. So it’s $29.95

          Lol

        • +7

          so $59.92?

      • +1

Why thank you. I was at a total loss of what DiLs could possibly be refering to, but yes, that makes more sense now.

      • Which doesn’t make a whole lot of sense by the way.

The euro goes at the end, because naturally it’s „ten euros“. But also, it’s „ten dollars“.

  • Thanks op, got 4

  • Thanks, at about $30 a pop, worth a go.

    4% cashback.

The Iconic had for this price, but you could use $20 off $100.

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/823176

    • It doesn't seem like the Outlet website allows gift cards on checkout compared to the regular site.

      • Was coming to ask about gift cards. Pity

Doesn't Country Road realise that old fat blokes aren't slim?

    • +14

Have they considered not being fat?

      • -3

Probably a thyroid medical issue they can’t do anything about. Seems only reason ppl are fat is because of that

  • +1

RRP of $130 really? I am interested to know what is so special about it other than a brand name 🤔

    • No difference.

This is pretty boring fashion, you look like a clone.

It's good for people who like to look basic.

      • +1

        I'm offended.

        • +9

Authenticity and confidence. Instead of relying on external embellishments or trends to mask insecurities or seek validation, these individuals prioritize substance over superficiality. They understand that genuine character and self-assuredness come from within, not from the clothes they wear or the image they project.

          • +16

@Phantomsurfr: Perhaps an unpopular opinion, but this type of self righteous thinking is still a form of shallow insecurity. There's an air of moral superiority in deriving "character and self-assuredness" from being so much better than all those other sheep. Even the writing style here projects this.

This isn't a criticism of you. I have absolutely found myself falling into this thinking at times, and it's only natural for us to do so.

            • +1

@soaringphoenix: so what do you suggest? balenciaga plastered across the front?

            • +1

@soaringphoenix: That comment was written using ChatGPT, I'm too bogan to come up with more than one big word in my sentences. It's just a clapback to being called basic.

        • Sorry, I mean the style has been out for decades

If it was popular, it wouldn't be cleared or everyone already owns similar styles.

      • +12

I have had the same office shirts since i graduated for 15 years. Been at my current company for 5 years, nobody bats an eye.

Nobody cares what you wear if its office related.

I suspect this will be massively popular as a v neck over a business shirt.

      • Post your fit bro, bet your fashion sense is totally unique

  • -6

This company is def on their way out.. I mean who is the demographic for this? It screams
of fashion for middle class people who want to look effortlessly rich. This might've been successful in the past, but I don't think this'll work in the future.

    • +4

So there won't be any middle class people in the future?

      • +9

You will wear Target and you will be happy.

        • Happy happy

    • +3

I don't mind their clean look. RRP is very inflated but worth it at half price or less.

    • So it’s better to look arduously rich?

    • Funny you should say that not they've just shut down their store around the corner from me (Armadale).

  • No same day delivery from the outlet store from what i can see ?

    • Outlet stock is probably from the warehouse in Truganina buried in the back, so no. I'd say same day deliveries are fulfilled by the nearest store

    • I think these are fulfilled from wherever the stock is on hand. I ordered 4 yesterday and 1 arrived today, whilst today I received a dispatch notification for the remaining 3. So definitely different locations, maybe even just different stores.

  • +13

Man, i would love to see what all the Ozbargain fashion gurus wear. The convos on clothing bargains are hilarious. Hell for $30 these would probably be ok for base layers if you're that worried about your precious image. Lol.

  • +2

    Grazi @deal junkie 🙏

    • Mate - this is really your deal!

  • So everyone buying 4 to get free shipping?

  • -3

    Robot clothing.

Sat here pondering over buying one of the 3/4 zips because Marino…

Then I realised these are not worth anything near RRP
And I don't want to look like an unrendered NPC

  • If u have man boobs best not to buy

    • +1

If you have man boobs, just do pectoral workouts so they look intentional 🤷‍♀️

  • Anyone having trouble with their captcha on mobile?

  • Anyone has compared this (merino) to Uniqlo heattech before?

    • +2

      Merino doesn't smell, heattech does.
Merino can't be dumped on with other washing, HT can.

I love Merino and wear items multidays when travelling.

  • You'll be able to pick the OzBargain middle aged man a mile away - CR Merino top w / gut sticking out, Rivers jeans over Ray's hiking shoes or Asics runners, stepping out of a Subaru wagon.

How old are you? 12? Don't worry, your testicles will drop soon and your ego might not be so fragile you feel the need to put others down for what they wear, look like or drive.

      • Found one.

        • So edgy.

          • @Fredorishi: You take offence to humour even when it isn't directed at yourself. You have anger issues my friend, the insecure person needing to grow up is looking at you in the mirror. I hope it's not too late.

            • @R00D: Im not angry. I'm LAUGHING at you. I find it funny that you make "jokes" about other peoples lack of fashion sense on a BARGAIN website. Bwah hahahahahahahahahaha. If you're so cool and edgy why are you here?

I guess i just have an issue with people who look down on others. I'm not particularly offended or angry. I just occasionally like to call out comments like yours when i see them. It often results in fun conversations. Especially when people double-down like you have. Hilarious.

              • @Fredorishi: Don't pretend you found it funny. You were offended, your initial response suggests so, obvious. As does your need now to 'call it out'. If you found it funny you'd banter with me, you wouldn't think I was looking down on anyone.
You either have no sense of humour, insecure or both. I'll let you decide. Be happy with who you are, how you look, etc.

                • -3

@R00D: Let me be clear. I find YOU funny. Not your so called "joke". It's a Dumb "joke". NOT funny.in the slightest. And you're punching down on people you obviously think are LESS than you.

But a person who feels the need to make that kind of comment on a bargain website. Hilarious. Cringey AF really but still funny.

I'm not the one with the confidence problem. And if you think your comment was funny, I'm pretty sure I'm not the one who lacks humour either.

But lets just agree to disagree shall we? You're not going to concede your comment was inane/banal/pointless/tasteless and I can't be bothered going around in circles.

All the best for your future endeavours in comedy.

                  • @Fredorishi: We both know you got called out for your reaction, which angered you even more than taking offence to my initial joke. I'm funny but my joke isn't? Your effort alone (I like all the CAPITALS especially) in trying to back your way out of this just makes it look a whole lot worse. You're very transparent.

                    • @R00D: LOL.

                      • @Fredorishi: ngl r00d is a prick but on logic alone he's won the argument here…

                        • @bumluffa: So you think he's a prick, but somehow me explaining why he's a prick is less logical than him telling me I'm "insecure" and "have no sense of humour". LOL. I find that pretty funny too. But sure. I concede defeat to the comedian. I'm just a grumpy old man with a fat gut who didn't like being made fun of. No Subaru though. Or Rivers or Rays or Asics, but close enough to really cut me to my insecure and humourless core. Are you two gonna tag-team now?
