bought x-lock grinder when bunnings had the bonus disc sets …. discs aren’t as cheap as normal ones but love the ease and speed of tooless disc changes. thks grabbed a few of the diamond blades.

      • yep if you bought grinder for $99, bosch sent you the accessory kit.

would this be strong enough to remove a teenager from their iPad?

There will be a lot of sparks, no guarantee of success though.

No, but a teaspoon of cement at the top of the food chain should help.

    • You might have difficulty with the iPad but you can easily remove the charger and cable. That’s often very effective.

Diamonds are a girl’s best friend and it fits on her finger…

  • Didn't know X-lock had even arrived downunder.
Stumbled across in the net after converting all my grinders to the Milwaukee flip up nut.

Any prof users to see the actual advantage out here?

You will be paying more for discs, that is all.

As for time saved from changing discs? Barely, close to none.

OP it's a good deal and you did the right job but I'm not going to get locked in this Bosch monopolistic thing.
Once you start with lock you're stuck with Bosch high rates while you can buy this specific product everywhere online for ~$10 not to mention other standard cutting discs for ~$3.
Fortunately there are already adaptors around so if you get locked, you can buy one and use any standard disc.

You don't need the x-lock adapters to use these, they fit standard grinders . I don't use tools when fitting or removing 125mm discs anyway, I just do them up hand tight and remove them by hand. They are self tightening in use, occasionally if the blade jams it can cause the blade to overtighten and you may need the tool to remove it or it you use the blade right down to a a size that is too small to get a good grab on. But I never use the tool when fitting the blade, I've been doing it this way for over 10 years and change on average 5 discs per work day. Larger grinders are a different story though.

    • they fit standard grinders

      That is good to know.

I don't use tools when fitting or removing 125mm discs anyway

I also don't use any tool but just my hands especially when I need to swap different discs for different jobs, but for the bigger brother sometimes you need to use the spanner.

    • Thanks!
Great info. I'll try hand tightening too. Can't find the tool half the time anyway

  • These are ok if you're only cutting something soft like pavers etc.

If you need to cut anything harder than that with rebar you'll be surprised how competitive pricing is if you go to one of the big 3. Husqvarna, Hilti or Tyrolitt.

  • So instead of the Bosch cutting discs arriving, I got Marvel themed Crocs 🤔
