Must remain with AGL for 1 month to get the $150 card as well as the sign up offer of $250 credit. $125 credit applies for each Electricity and Gas connection.

Existing Customers can also get $50 card by changing their plan.

NSW: $125 for gas, $125 for electricity
VIC/QLD: $75 for gas, $75 for electricity
WA/SA: No credit, just the gift card

  • I'm not convinced it'll be honoured if it's only meant to be for Westpac staff…

    • I think AGL support was confused. The offer is prominently displayed in the Westpac app for card holders.

      What's going to be interesting is how that they determine eligibility. Obviously AGL could outright deny anyone who's not a Westpac card holder upon application, but I wonder if they'll actually consolidate who is a current Westpac card holder after the 30 day period - I'm needing to churn my card before then, so hoping I don't get any surprises.

    You will have to call AGL and quote WESTPAC, its still active . Just signed up now.

    Signed up in Dec but the account no. didn't create under AGL. The electricity from previous connection showed disconnected.

    Spoke with AGL chat team who stated they never received any transfer/connection request and I signed up using wrong Westpac link. They signed me up via chat but saying that there will be meter reading fee of $50 though I have a smart meter. He kept on stating that I am being compensated by the sign up credit.

    It's the same premises so I don't understand why do they need to have physical meter reading when it's smart meter. I think I will need to dispute it when the 1st bill arrives. They confirmed that I will get $150 MasterCard but I won't trust them until I actually see it.

      Not expired. You need to call them and quote westpac offer. I signed up via phone at 10am

      • But I was already in the process of signing up with that offer when I received an email about a credit check. Did they check yours over phone too?

        • I have gas with them. So no need for credit check

  • I’ve signed up using the link above last week but hadn’t gotten confirmation from Westpac rewards as some of the posts above. I’m a Westpac customer. Should I be concerned and call AGL? I’ve read in previous posts that one needs to click via the link in the Westpac app (apparently it’s tracked that way) but the offer has now disappeared from the app.

  • Got a call from Origin retention team. Offered a flat 30% off the reference price for both elec n gas. Had to say no as I signed up 125 (Sign up) plus 150 (Prepaid Digital Card) for Electricity alone from AGL. I hope AGL honor the gift card on time so that can churn n look for other deals ;)

    • They called me about 20 times and I never answered. Eventually I did and they said something similar. I refused. Still waiting on my gas to be transferred and for the 125 signup credit to show up. AGL says I'll get it. I got the elec one already. I don't expect the mastercard but let's see.

      • You will certainly get the 125 signup bonus for electricity. You will see it on the dashboard. If not, ask the chat person to reflect the bonus. MasterCard I still didn't receive mine.

    Can see the $75 gas credit in my online account already (QLD).
    Have also confirmed that I'll get the gift card after 30 days with AGL.

  • I called AGL just now, managed to get $125 credit on my account (electricity only) however the operator said they didn't have any westpac offers available even after pushing a bit.

    • I would be happy with $125 per service.

  • got $125 elec but gas still hasn't moved over from origin. still waiting on that prepaid mastercard too. not holding my breath on the mastercard but would like AGL to honour the $125 new customer/service.

    • AGL say they'll give $125. But they reckon service will transfer over at end of Origin billing cycle. Which should've been a few days ago but Origin seem to have started me on a new cycle so it'll be 3 more months before I churn.

  • I only signed up for gas and received the $150 Mastercard today. It hasn't even gone across yet from what I can tell.

      Has anyone received their prepaid mastercard via SMS yet? I received the same email and lodged my claim last Tuesday and still havent recevied the SMS yet.

        Nothing yet. Lodged claim and it has been a week. Email said 5 business days and it is on 5 business days now… No SMS here.

        I have redeemed the $150 Mastercard 10 business days ago and still not receiving the sms. Tried to contract them but they don’t have a phone number, I left message in the web form and still no news after 3 days now.

      I have crossed more than 30 days for my Gas account, still haven't received any gift card. Should I give them a ring or chat?

  • Got a bill for electricity only and I got a credit of $113.64 rather than $125. I'm only on day 25 so haven't received the gift card yet.

    Not sure if I should give them a call about the credit considering I'm not with Westpac and shouldn't rock the boat.

      The $113.64 is likely pre-GST, making it $125 once your 10% GST is added.

          You should get an automated email after 30 days. But redemption may take a while (over a week I'm still waiting).

  • looks like Mastercard is westpac specific where you have to get the code from westpac app…

      • No. But I called agl and they said we actually need a specific code from westpac app to be able to successfully apply even if we got the email (I got the email previously from aglcard team)

        • Did AGL say where this specific code is in the app?
          Also got the redeem email 2 weeks ago but no MasterCard as yet, contacted them via the link in email twice and or l get is they are still looking into it. I passed on the deal to my son in-law around the same time and he received the MasterCard within 3 days of redeeming via the email sent. Can't work out why so many of us haven't received it.

    Yep just received mine as well.

    • Me too. Vault failed to activate twice (upstream request error) but trying a third time it asked me to login and tada, card was there.

    • I got mine within the week as suggested after registering for it. It came fairly promptly after the month

      I know with ANZ deals sent via SMS, my spam filter automatically deleted them, hence why I never got them

    I am still waiting for the SMS to arrive. I redeemed the mastercard promo on 21st feb.

      Same. I also redeemed it on Feb 21st and yet no info for the card details. I also sent an email to their support, told they will come back soon ( I don't think so).

      Same here, also received the "Your Prepaid Mastercard is now ready to redeem" email on the 21st Feb and redeemed that day. 🤔

      Like @Utsav23, I contacted support on the 11th of March and got a "Sorry to hear you haven't received your Digital Mastercard. We are currently looking into this for you and we will get back to you as soon as we can." reply.

        Same copy paste response from Gemma, Customer support. I don't how to expedite the process. My be we can say that we are lodgin a complaint with AER

    • We may have to wait till March end or so. I'm thinking of moving to Origin as they are giving $200 for electricity sign-ups.

      Yikes.

      After reading this I replied to Gemma requesting a followup and a mention that "I would like to request a more concrete timeline for the resolution of this matter. If you are unable to provide the Prepaid Digital Mastercard within the next 2 business days, I kindly request that you provide me with a formal complaint or issue number for reference and tracking purposes" and just got the Mastercard sent via SMS now. 🤣
