Garmin Forerunner 255 Slate Grey $379 Delivered @ Garmin

220

First post, please be gentle.

Stumbled upon this just having a look at what Garmin has on sale, great price for a great watch. I've been using mine since the Amazon JP deal last year and have no complaints thus far.

There is also a decent deal on the Forerunner 255/S Music as well

    please bro deal on 965

  • thanks for posting
quick question, can you customise a short cut on the 255 to quickly access a timer for say 30secs or 60secs? and does it vibrate/alarm at the end of the timer? I work in the medical field and I need to quickly count a resp rate, I currently use my Watch4 for this and works great. Cheers

There is a widget I use on a different Garmin watch called "Ratecalc" where you push a button each time something happens and it gives you the rate per minute. I use it for doing respiratory rates all the time, and the best bit is that you don't have to do a full 30 seconds or minute, it starts working out the rate after 3 button presses. It also continues to revise the rate as you keep pressing, it's legit the best thing I have on my watch. I've even used it for faster things like foetal or neonate heart rates which I find I lose track of when I try to count manually. I would assume you could get it for this watch too.

      • Cool thanks for the reply! Sounds like a great app for resps or palps.

I'm pre hospital, one of the reasons I like a timer is that I can hold an airway while I count or do other menial tasks. But I do like your suggestion, cheers!

I'm pre hospital too, and yeah there are obviously times when you can't be hitting the button. For those times I have a watch face that shows seconds and just count the old fashion way, or just use the clock in the truck or on the monitor. I like your way of having the timer though so you don't have to check back, just count until it vibrates. I'm sure there would be some way of doing that on this watch, there is a widget for everything.

    • Mrs willyroo (GP) uses an analogue watch face for pulses - ASAP…
