    Indonesian Oreos? I'm in…

  • +6

So it's ~$11/kg. Compared to $13.70/kg at Woolies at the momement; ~$9.70/kg when it's 1/2 price (which is very often at Colesworths).

My point - they're generally available and usually very cheap (and unhealthy) biscuits, so think twice before getting these snack packs.

They might not be the best deal for Oreos but they are perfect for children to take to school as a snack. Surprised they have it available now, considering that school will be starting in over 3 weeks.

    • But are they Indonesian?

And in convenient snack packs? I'm happy to pay a small 12% premium on top of the 50% off price for the ready-made and delivered convenience…

      Thanks OP!

      • not free delivery though

Yeah, I realise the convenience of the packaging and really wish people pack their kids lunches in any kind of reusable containers.

So it's less of the ridiculous plastic packaging and a better example for the kids.

BTW, what's the diff, Indonesian vs others? When Pringles switched to Asian format years ago (smaller chips, slightly different flavour IMO), I switched to Aussie homebrands.

Don't know if you mean to come off preechy, but you're getting pretty close.

Virtue-signalling against parents using plastic-wrapped snacks is pretty bold unless you're growing your own veggies, using reusable nappies and have never spent money on other vices like alcohol, video games or cheap plastic toys.

We've all got our axes to grind. But I'll grind mine whilst chomping down on a ridiculously delicious treat…

I really wish there were no tonnes of these and similar wrappers laying on the sidewalks in the area where I live. Obviously I can't say it's dropped by the kids from the school nearby, but surely there wouldn't be an issue if there were no convenient snack packs like these and if some kids knew what to do with them.

I'm not saying you don't make enough effort, but some people could feel more responsibility. No need start the full-on "virtue-signalling" defensive talk.

      • Woolies and Coles home brand pringles are Asian, there made in Malaysia:

        Not Australian at all

        • I meant Aussie homebrands, like Coles', Woolies' (or Aldi's, which isn't Aussie). Doesn't matter where they're made in that context (best would be on the continent tho). Those chips are bigger than Pringles these days and to me - opinion alert - they taste better.

I meant Asian version of Pringles, which I (perhaps unfortunately) called "Asian format", but my point was they are smaller now. See others' opinions eg. here.

The fact that I'm being negged for wishing for less soft plastics is extremely sad.

But yeah, our lucky country has a lot of space to store all sort of trash, and even more audacity to stay one of those less sustainable places in the world. However, that's too bad for the kids.

    OOS

    • +2

Wow Neg? I had it in cart and went to nothing in the cart and hence the comment "OOS" at that price

      • +2

Don't worry man, some people just throw them out for no reason. Maybe he meant to + it but he's been eating too many Oreos
