I was blasting that on my speaker system at a campground the other night and someone had the audacity to call the cops on me for assault.

        • +1

          Chicken salt?

          • @tunzafun001: There is a fish shop near me called "A Salt & Battery Fish & Chips". Good chips.

  • +1

Damnnn, would grab a deal but now I'd need a swimming pool.. 😅

Maybe just grab one of those cheap $10 Catch pools that are always on clearance.. 🤣

    • +2

You can also use it indoors. No need of a swimming pool. Put it next to your bathtub.

  • I really don't think I need this to buy Ozbargain things…. Why am I considering buying a 2m light-up tree?

    • +2

      Coz it’s a bargain.

      Usefulness is another thing completely

    • +2

Ooh, are we doing logic here these days?

    • I bought a 2.8m inflatable snowman…. need to outdo the neighbours.

  • +5

Thanks OP! I have been waiting for these things to drop in price ! Now off to buy some coconuts and grass skirt….

  • +1

Thanks OP. Ordered one. They have great reviews. I saw them recently and thought too expensive. Great price!

  • Good for tying up people.

    • And then light them up?

    • @Clear Tie up the person that rang the cops on ya for assault .

  • Thanks OP. Don't really need one but ordered anyway. Can be a great gift for a mate!

  • Only on OzBargain… Bought one

  • Dang I’m on the fence.
    2.4m
Is it literally a palm tree that looks like it has Christmas lights on it?

    Need more photos

  • +1

Good price … but then again I'd have to find somewhere to put up a lit up palm tree. Lol. Common sense is saying no

  • +11

This has to be the most useless shit I've ever seen on Ozbargain. Bought 2

    • -1

      Are you new here?

  • Dont know if i need it. But ordered anyways

  • Could be good to use for outdoor Christmas decorations? A few trees on the side

  • +2

Looks pretty childish. Saw it in Bunnings a couple of days ago and was wondering that who in their right mind would buy this… This thread proved me wrong.

    • Christmas lights or pool area

    • Well some of us need shade for the new pool we just bought. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/823311

    • Or you are still absolutely right🤔🤔

    • It's a 2.4m light-up plastic palm tree. Of course it's childish. And everybody should have one.

  • Solar RRP is cheaper than non solar?

  • +1

Didnt think this through - how do i pick this up damn

    • +1

Package height 2.6m. Good point didn't think that through lol

      • That's assembled dimensions, not package dimensions

      • +1

        Package height is 1.5m

    • Same wonder if I should have got delivery. What’s the new minimum spend at Bunnings for free OnePass delivery?

Edit: May fit in the Holden dunny door

      • +3

It's 240mm x 240mm x 1500mm. Just picked.up two and folded rear seats and in through the boot of a Kia Cerato sedan

        • +1

          Confirming dimensions.
Also confirming that two fit in the back of a cerato sedan with the seats folded down.

So..what does an actual small palm cost ? And just stick some Xmas lights on it?

    • +1

At 2.4m high, probably more than this I'm afraid.

      • Cocos..$25. Grows to 2m first year. Put it in a pot (probaly another $20) otherwise its heading to 12m.

        • if you leave it in a pot does it restrict the height?
We have a couple (not in pots) about 1.5m away from our fibreglass inground pool, (they were there when we moved in - cant remember how tall they were then, 5yrs ago) .. it's getting harder to trim now they are so tall. At some stage, i'm a bit worried the roots might also push in the side of the pool? Not sure if that's a thing to be concerned about tho.

          • @swampson: Yeah, pots restrict height. No idea about the pool issue…but almost every pool has a 12m palm around it these days. Mate had one that we used the fronds as a swing rope…was awesome..until it broke off. Just a massive belly flop..by me.

            • @tunzafun001: thanks for the comments (and belly flop image!) - after reading your msg last night I started doing a lot of digging, and you are def correct about the pots aspect. Very interesting. If we do remove the current palms, as a precaution with the possible roots expansion, I think I'll absolutely consider pots long term for new/small palms. I like the look of the palms, but would much prefer to avoid the risk of roots. (had enough trouble with this pool as it is, rather than leave a risk like this waiting in the wings….)

              • @swampson: I think Palms tend to spread their roots out across the top, not so much down and along. But If going pots, will need to dynabolt/ anchor them somehow. Lots of leverage in a palm in high winds.

  • Looks tacky

  • What if i dont collect in 5 days? Do they deliver for free?

    • No. They refund if not picked up that’s what anaconda and spotlight do anyway

    • +1

      Can confirm they refund.

  • Great buy, would recommend 👍

  • Why??????????

  • +1

Ozbargain feeling: surely don't need it, add to cart, checkout, thanks for your order. Thanks, OP

  • I picked mine up and set it up. Yeah underwhelming tbh. I'm going to return

  • These have just been reduced again for stores that still have stock. I just picked some up for $35.
