You need the price in the title

Also looks like the 15.6" is better value.

    • +1

Actually the 16" may be better as it is 16:10 and has USB-C.

      • Fair, looks to be brighter too

  • +1

No price or retailer name in title.

  • Apologies. This is my first posting

  • Reviews are excellent, I read all of them last night and now I see it on OzB, iBuy

    • Have some links?

      • Just scroll down to the review section 😂

I'm using this exact monitor now. The display is nice after some additional calibration and gets decently bright with decent viewing angles. It displays the advertised resolution of 1920x1200 and is capable of 60hz refresh rate according to my windows display settings. The build quality is all plastic which gives it a bit of a flimsy feel but makes it very light and good decent for travel (just make sure to have a non bendy padded travel case for it). The built in stand is a bit bendy given the plastic build and requires more effort to extend than I expected.
If build quality is a parallel priority for you as screen quality, then definitely look elswhere.

      • I just need 2 days of remote work away from AU, hopefully, it'll last. Thanks for your feedback. I planned on putting in the laptop bag, my laptop is also 16" so it should just fit in.

      • Can you use a USB C to A cable to power it?
Might use this on my old server but it only has USB A

        • you can use a usb a to c cable to power it if there's enough power on the port… otherwise the monitor just flickers off and on if there's not enough power

      • do you use an external calibrator or is there software that you use?

        • +1

No I didn't use any proper calibration tools… I simply had my Samsung s20 FE mobile phone next to the monitor showing the same background image and adjusted the settings to make the colours appear as close to my S20fe phone screen.

They had a $20 off code as well yesterday. Sadly all claimed.

Bought one to watch TV on while Im supposed to be working at my desk :)

  • Aliexpress has a lot of sales on atm, may be better to look there for some of the other monitors posted previously here.

I did buy one 14" (different brand) from Aliexpress. It died after 5 usages. The store didn't do anything, and Aliexpress said, sorry customer, they will penalize the store, and that's all. At least Amazon has better warranty than sending something to China

      • Did you purchase through PayPal, if so did you raise a claim via them?

        • unfortunately, I paid by card. did try to manage the claim with the seller and aliexpress too (more than a month) and gave it up… got messages like this: "Upon checking, we noticed you have quality problem with this order, and we have contacted the seller. According to the situation of the case and the rules of the platform, we recommend the seller take the initiative to contact you within 24 hours to communicate the solution and provide an effective solution within 7 days.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation which is highly appreciated and we hope you have a great experience shopping with AliExpress.

Thank you for contacting AliExpress regarding order.

Thank you for your report. We will penalize the seller according to the number of his violations, please rest assured, we will record and accumulate the behavior of the seller this time.

Your understanding and cooperation is highly appreciated and we hope you have a great experience shopping with AliExpress.

Keep an eye out when you're in BigW.
    I found a Polaroid 15.6" 1080p portable monitor on clearance for $79.
Can't really find any details on the device itself but this is the exact one:

I thought I'd give it a crack to see if my local Big W (Liverpool, NSW) had it in stock, and they did! The last one too! Thank you!

Happy to answer some questions, do some tests or check on some things if anyone's interested.

      Specs (from the manual):

      Product Polaroid 15.6" Portable Monitor - PL156MTBK

      Panel Type IPS

      Aspect Ratio 16:9
      Speaker 2 x 1W
      Power consumption 15W
Power supply 5VDC 3A (not included)
      Net Weight 610g
      Dimensions 364 x 229 x 10.2 mm (W x H x D)
      • Nice, it's a shame it's DC powered only and no option of power through usb. I suppose for $79 it's a decent compromise. I'm guessing display connectivity is via HDMI?

        • +3

Not sure why the manual mentions that, but played around for a little bit:

          • It is powered by one of the 3 USB-C ports.
          • Can also be powered by a USB-A to USB-C cable. (I think the manual says it needs to be at least 18W)
          • It can be connected to and powered completely from the host device (I connected it to my MacBook Air, and also my iPhone 15 Pro - with USB-C)
          • It has a mini-HDMI port for input as well (comes with a 1m mini-HDMI to HDMI cable)
          • It has FreeSync and HDR wow lol
          • @Kirby102: oh nice, thanks for clarifying :)

            • +1

@jerdp: Can be displayed through USB-C or HDMI.
If the host device is capable, you'll only need the USB-C to USB-C connection for both video and power.
If you connect it via the mini-HDMI connection, then you'll also need to power it with at least an 18W capable USB-C connection (whether it be a powerbank, USB charger, etc).

It comes with a VESA bracket as well, so you have that option of mounting it.
              It's super light as well

  • Ordered yesterday morning, arrived before 9pm. Thanks OP.

  • +1

mine arrived today and it works well, looks decent, have tried usbc and hdmi

its a bit cheaply made but what do you expect, would be interested if anyone found any cheap travel cases or something for it?

If anyone is interested, here are the calibration values I set mine on:

(Going from right to left of the menu page)

First settings page (left to right):
    eye symbol = 0 | the horizontal lines above each other (highlights?) = 40 | contrast = 45 | sharpness = 3

Second settings page (left to right):
    R = 48 | G = 46 | B = 57 | brightness = 43 | colour = 45

    Third settings page:
    Everything OFF

    • thanks!
