  • I bought a similar one and am very happy with it. Tempted to buy another one for another door.

    • This one, with the emergency keys, is like the one you bought and is on sale at $67.99.

      https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0CD1CHYK8/ref=sspa_dk_detail_2…

      • Yep, its cheaper than this deal and its pretty much the same thing. Even this deal has emergency keys.

        • +1

same photo's used if you click through them side by side

      • Bought similar one after few days it stopped working. Giving lots of error while trying to unlock with fingerprints.problem started when enrolled more then 1 finger prints.

  • I am super keen to replace my ancient deadbolt, but am a little hesitant to secure my home with a no-name $70 lock. Is this justified?

    • +3

This isnt really a dead bolt replacement, more of a door knob replacement. I wouldn't use it on a front door but it's great for garage entry or internal doors

  • Great stuff. Bought something similar with the branding is the only difference. Installed it and never looked back. 👍

Not sold on the idea of a cheap smart lock. I wouldnt use this one on a front door.

If it has to be a smart lock, I would probably go with a Lockly unit. The Lockpicking Lawyer picked one, and while it wasn't perfect, it did pretty well compared to others. And it has an easily replaceable core to add pick resistance.

I have two LOCKLY units and I can’t fault them one bit

  • I installed this version of (https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0C9Q5GJ63?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_…) lock on weekend .
Lock built is suitable for internal doors not for the main entry . Installation was easy - just followed the instructions in booklet , was able to finsih the installation and lock set up in Tuya app in approx 1hr.Finger scanner works very well .I am keeping eye on battery consumption seems okay at this point .

    • So these locks works on batteries? I was just wondering where to draw the power….

What batter does this one use? I assume 2 x AA or AAA?

      • I would rneed 4xAAA to run not included in pack

    • Just installed the exact same one. Have you played with the Family Go Home feature in the Tuya app? Looks like you can get it to Auto Unlock when you arrive home?

No havent and might need bluetooth gateway to work properly as lock connection to Phone via Bluetooth is not very reliable in my experience

        • Yeah I had a play and I think you def need a gateway. Used it a few times and bit fiddly with the fingerprint not always working first time. Also setup the kids but my youngest has small fingers so really hard to recognise

          • @iShibby: Wondering Bluetooth gateway will decrease battery life of lock as it will be always connected to gateway via bluettoth

  • Not sure if this is a deal. I think this is the same product:

    • Good find and also find the Silver version in Amazon too.

This looks identical to my apartment door lock, don't think strata will complain.

The only worry now is do I risk taking my door lock apart?

      • +1

Might need to be careful. I think the door locks in apartments are usually fire rated so this might breach lots of things like insurance and require approval from strata.

        • Ah…. OK ideal cancelled!! Thanks🙏🙏

  • Half the time I cannot get into my PC, and now I won't be able to enter my house.

  • Has anyone tried these with a Tuya bluetooth gateway for control over WiFi?

  • FWIW I got this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B09MQHWQFJ

It's been brilliant, fit right up replacing the previous lock with no mods so a simple install. Fingerprint detection is accurate and fast. It's also IP66 waterproof, i have it on an external door in the rain no issues. It's a very solid lock and better built than the regular keyed lock I had before.

It's only Bluetooth connection to the app which is fine for me, but they do sell a wifi hub for internet control. Very happy with it.

  • Screen door lock? No measurement between the handle and the base plate…
