$286.42 for blue colour , temp out of stock though

  • 3-piece set 20/24/28 in Nova Teal for $621.87

  • 20": 55.88 x 35.56 x 22.86 cm, 3.4 kg, $266.13 alone in the same listing right now, 1 left in stock
    24": 67.31 x 41.91 x 45.09 cm, 4.1 kg, $386.60 alone in the same listing

    • Thanks. 3.4kg for a carry on is a bit heavy, isn't it?

      • +2

Pretty heavy, esp. for JetStar where you get 7kg carry on and they actually weigh it.

  • +1

can the smaller one be used as a carry on?

    • Looks like it:
"SET INCLUDES 20" Carry On (meets carry-on size restrictions for those traveling domestically and looking to stay light)"

      • Ah thank you. Wondering if I should get this… I don't travel much but I don't own any travel bags…

        • +8

At 3.4 kg it's pretty heavy for a carry-on, but depends on your needs.

          • @pizzaguy: Thats nearly half your allowed carry-on weigh.

Better off with any decent sized backpack. 7kg is not that heavy to strap to you back for most people.

            • @xoom: Yeah, that's 100% true for Jetstar, other cheap airlines and some airline's lowest-tier tickets.

  • Are these good compared the cheaper ones like around $100 for 28 inch?

  • +1

Reviews put me off…no lock on the smaller bag and seem to damage easily.

  • +4

Large bag is slightly too small for what I am looking for, for those who are actively searching for good deals on Samsonite, Costco is pretty unbeatable in AU.

  • Eh only decent price on 20/24. Wouldn't have minded a cheap 3 piece set, or a good price on the just large 28 inch. Don't really need another carry on or mid size suitcase

Can I just say I find it better and cheaper to just get the cheapest ones you can find and if something happens go buy a new one. The warranty on all of these overpriced ones are a joke.

E.g Lock on my suitcase was damaged. I took it back to David Jones and they sent it to an authorised repairer that said the cause is due to "Airport damage" which is not covered. So I got in touch with the airline and they told me I had to report the issue on the day if not it's not covered and was told to try my insurance company. So I got in touch with insurance that told me a claim is $300 so not worth it.

Moral of the story. Get a cheap one and if it becomes faulty get another one

    • Whats a cheap one though?

      • +1

Like ones you find at Big W :)

    • Fully agreed… i own a set 20/24/28 from kogan unknown brand for about $120 for all 3s.
The largest 28” got damaged from my last travel and the airline replaced it for more than I bought the lot since they couldn’t repair it.
      Bargain indeed.

Besides, I can’t get around my head to spend expensive luggages just for the rampie to throw around like garbage.

I got mine at Costco in Jun 23 and the price was $289.99. Pretty good suitcases

    • 2 piece set?

      • Yes, only 2 colours, black or lagoon blue. However, I reckon they stopped stocking these suitcases as I could not find them anymore at Costco Docklands or Epping since then.

  • Wish the 2 piece was 20 and 28 instead of 24

    • Same

  • I can't find any sellers of the Samsonite Omni besides Amazon.. not even on the Samsonite website. Is this an old model?

  • +1

From looking (and buying) Samsonite recently, it looks like the best standard discount you'll get is 40% off RRP. Then stack gift cards, cashback, employee coupons, or Qantas points.

If you want quality go for either polypropylene (lighter) or polycarbonate (stronger but heavier). I wouldn't want a carry on over 2.5kg. Also check carry on size if you're flying budget - the Australian sizes differ from euro.

I ended up getting the upscape 55 and 75cm for a bit over $400

Oh forgot to mention that Peter's of Kensington eBay site with eBay plus membership might work out cheaper for certain items. I didn't go through this route as there wasn't a colour matched set for what I was after.

  • Any other deals? Need 2 large ones..

  • Lagoon Blue available for backorder 2 piece set - $286.42

    • This may be the one i just cancelled, because i just bought costco one instead 2 pieces $269 in store with one carry on and one 75 cm
Costco carry on weight is 2.8 kg
