    How about connecting this to a Windows machine and sharing it across a network? Are Brother's network scanning functions any good?

        That would be fun although I've got a PC ready to be a print server. I'm just wondering how well it will work given the printer is aimed at home users.

    Had mine since 2014. Its not a fast printer, its not a fast scanner and does not hold many documents, it doesn't do automatic double sided printing.

    But it has never broken down and doesn't have any "chip" protection of the toner. I have changed the drum a couple of times and have only bought third party replacement toners/refilled some.

    If you want a decent printer that can sit for months neglected but you can then plug in and print 1000pages without an issue its perfect.
