  • why is this tagged as freebie?

and isnt the referral with 40% off better…

    • My bad .. :( Just removed it and thanks for pointing it out :)

Their Website doesn’t go into details on whats actually covered

    • I don't think they cover anything, to me it looks like you pay a yearly membership fee to get reduced rates for services at certain dental clinics?
      I Could be wrong.

there is definitely no hard figures of whats actually saved realistically by subscribing to the service that i could easily find.

    • This is more like a subscription. Having this brings the cost of items that a dentist otherwise charges a full amount. The catch is you'd have to visit one of their affiliated dentists. (the list of dentists available on https://www.smile.com.au/ and check with your postcode.)

For me, I saved more than $500 out of a dental quote by going to one of smile.com.au affiliated dentists for the same treatment plan.

Cost for Single, 1 year membership (with referral) = $47.40. So as Jimothy has stated, better to go with referral lol

      • Yeah.. :) exactly I scratch your back and you scratch mine ;)

    • Signed up for 2 years using a referral. The 40% off applies for all plans, 1 or 2 years.

Anything that makes dental a bit cheaper and will actually motivate me to go is a good deal in my book.

Tried Smile dentists a few times. Dental 99 still cheaper than their discounted prices.

    • Dental 99 looks really good. Wish they had more clinics but not too far out of my way.

Cancelled my smile subscription. Let's see if they keep bugging me.

  • Without knowing the prices for actual treatment/check ups….how can one confirm this to be good deal. Do we need to call up nearby Smile associated clinics and ask for treatment/check ups prices?

    • edit: I can see on their website they have prices ranges based on state. Still though, never had dental cover in past, annual fees + smile fees are better than regular extras cover?

  • This a decent option, I've done the maths for my personal situation, and it would be a saving of approximately $120 over a year if I keep my Bupa hospital but drop my extras cover and switch with smile with x2 dental visits per year. This saves about $ 12 per month but I'd lose access to discounted physio and remedial.
    ..Thanks for reading
