Yes and they actually had a couple of stores on the northside of Sydney, they haven't had either for many years now - at least a friend in Melbourne says there is less and less in the box every time they order. :(

Aspley will sometimes not honour 'in store' deals this way. They've also declined to honour two gift vouchers in the same transaction (or separate transactions by a single car without driving around again), but that's another issue. A few years ago, the manager came to the drive thru window and yelled about using a gift voucher, so I avoid the drive thru there…

You may be remembering the Tropicana Box (now called the Trop Box). Used to be 1/4 chicken, lots of chips in box, with pineapple ring & drink. Before that had a banana instead of pineapple fritter - which I preferred.

I wish they'd bring back the old ripper with the full size crusty roll. I only ever go to RR if there's a banner out the front with a deal or on the odd occasion I get vouchers in my letterbox. You wouldn't catch me there paying full price for a single thing!

That banana look wrong
Had Red Rooster for dinner last night for the first time in ages and was shocked how much it’s gone downhill.
1/4 chicken and chips was a tiny little leg and half a thigh that looked like it was chopped up by tongs just sitting in the box alone and had no stuffing, and the chips came in a chip box half full with barely any salt. They used to stuff the box with chips and the chicken on top so the chips got some stuffing flavour. It was absolute garbage.
Girlfriend got Flayva Wrap, and instead of lettuce they’re now using some carrot cabbage coleslaw mix and she said it was the worst wrap she’d ever eaten.
Guess they need to save money but it seems they’ve made their food absolutely terrible now.

Just had it. The chicken was decently sized as usual (breast/wing). The chips came in the little white bag but it was filled completely. Maybe 17-18 chips? It's $5 you can't complain in 2024.

I remember when this used to be $2 every Tuesday back in the 90s. Highlight of my week buying 2 of these and eating both myself!
$5 is cheap compared to $2 in the 90s… inflation would have $2 closer to $10 than $5 today.

I remember eating red rooster with the chicken flayva wrap back in the day where the chicken was so moist and tender and the mayo and lettuce compliments everything else that went with it. Nowadays the wraps, the rolls they’re not even that filling anymore plus the quality has gone downhill.
FYI I also believe it’s unfair NSW and Victoria gets the quarter chicken and chips for $5.50 as opposed to everywhere else getting it for $5. Sydney siders are being ripped off and I feel like the food in these fast food restaurants don’t taste nearly half as good going back 10 years ago and we as a nation are suffering for its failures.
It amazes me red rooster manages to stay afloat while producing absolute garbage food. All the mainstream fast food places have gone downhill but nothing compares to RR. Who eats this shit??
Not even good value considering you can buy an entire roast chicken (at least 6x the meat on a chicken leg they give you in the '1/4' chicken) at coles for 12 bucks.

No, I haven't. Had a look online, and for $28 for 12 pieces you'd probably be better off just going to a good Korean place. Maybe one day I'll try it though.
When was the last time you actually had Red Rooster or went to a store? The company rebranded itself back around 2016 and the food has improved a lot because new management came in. Seems like you’re still living in the late 90s and early 2000s when Red Rooster was failing.
They only put small chips in the box now I ordered two this morning, they don't fill it so your better off getting x 2 and filling up on protein rather than carbs.

The TV ad is so mis-leading. I did this a couple times, and now no chance I would go back.,… even for 5 bucks. Just mid-leading and that is worse than value. Show me a million chips and then deliver me 5. Okay sure.
