    World's most advanced 7" tablet

at least for the next day or two…

    • Putting aside the upcoming iMini, how does this compare to the nexus 7 in regards to 'most advanced 7" tablet"?

      • Reviews said the Kindle Fire is sluggish sometimes. Wait a few weeks for the Nexus 7 hardware update and get that.

    • Not sure what's so advanced about it even now.

When the iPad mini introduces revolutionary new features just like the iPhone 5 did.

      • +5

yeah. mind-blowing adapter connects at the bottom.

        • +2

lol. precious little bugger, i didn't even notice your post until someone voted it down -5.

you need to get some fresh air dude.. seriously.

        • Android does have a lot more features :D

          @toad
give it a rest already, sarcasm don't work well on forums and you are starting to sound like the kid in the class that laughs at his own jokes.

        • +4

Why care though? Whats the big deal?
Sounds like you have a real issue with Android? Why? Who cares?
Apple and Android are both great in different ways.
Care factor = zero, much easier :)

LOL, I've never open a weather app. The weather widget on my home screen tells me the current weather in real time.

        • +4

We have to be sentitive now. An android probably stole Paintoad's partner away.

        • you are absolutely hilarious toad.

        • -4

@GoldenSwan, wow you don't need to open a weather app! That must save you like 10 seconds a day in loading time! Well worth the continual network/battery usage while the weather is updating when it's sitting in your pocket not being viewed by anyone.

@ktks, yep Android get's all the ladies. Maybe one can teach me their moves one day.

        • jesus who shoved an android phone up this guys ass? i think he's mad.

        • Honestly Toad, you're just embarrassing yourself now mate…

@arakkim, we're kinda used to him now…Android threads just aren't the same without his serial trolling! ;)

iMini? Nah he's referring to the Ainol Novo 7 Crystal
because it comes with "pre-installed with English OS,comes with English warranty card,English Quick Guide and English manual."

      http://www.ainol-novo.com/news/

  • I was expecting it to use e-ink, but it looks like a full colour display. So what's the difference between one of these and an Android tablet? What OS does it use actually?

    • as far as i know, amazon designs their own UI (Amazon style with their shop emphasised) so it is bit different from other Android tablets that you are used to.

    • +1

It uses an Amazon fork of Android.
It's Android underneath a custom Amazon Skin, it uses the Amazon App-store which is region locked, so you'll have to do the Amazon hack and then buy apps only when connected to a US VPN.

      • In that case, no thanks.

        • i think also its going to take a long time for any custom roms to appear to crack this device. roms for the old fire are available now but still buggy afaik.

fire 10 inch might be worth it for the full hd screen but @7inch - google nexus is better.

    ainol fire > kindle fire
    at much less price

  • +5

Really not worth having a Kindle Fire in Australia given that you can't purchase a majority of the content designed for the device. They're awesome devices, but being unable to buy TV and Movies for it pretty much defeats the purpose of buying one.

Secondly, don't buy from DWI. Ever.

    • nah, this one doesn't even flush well.

      • Not a good floater either. :)

        • amen. lol.

Kindle Fire sounds sooo much better than Ainol Fire.

    • sounds as pleasant as "Ringof" Fire

      • Are these made in India?

  • as of today Kindle Fire HD is most advanced 7" tablet - this is true - screen/dual wifi are excellent.

Unfortunately, no google play store, so nexus 7 is more practical outside america.

But wait till next month, new nook is got even better in hardware (but look is ugly)

    • New Nook looks like excellent value even with shipping

      Micro SD, heck yes

  • This is dual-core, while the Nexus 7 is quad-core, why this is the most advanced?

  • no GPS, so hardly the most advanced.
Lack of any maps even kills it for a portable device.

  • I'm not going to buy anything from DWI ever again.
Bought many stuff from them before no problem until last group buy for Go Pro Hero 2 HD. Took almost 3 weeks to sent the item and they no longer use FedEx. They use Toll Express now. Much slower than fedex.
