Pork Belly Roast $14/kg, Boneless Pork Leg Roast $8/kg, [Targeted] 3 Flybuys Offers @ Coles

980

Boneless Pork Leg Roast $8/kg

Both are down by over $6/kg.
The ticket on my local Coles says save $3/kg for the leg roast.

I also have three Flybuys offers expiring today: 1200 points for $30 spend, 5x points on fresh meat, 5x on fresh produce.

Leg roast is better value in terms of discount %, but taste-wise, pork belly is likely better.

Happy roasting 🐷

Unwrap it and dry the skin out in the fridge for a day or two. Then poke the skin all over. This is the secret.

Time to whip out the ozito heat gun.

Not sure if only my local stores but the pork belly at both Coles and woolies has been atrocious in quality with literally just skin and fat. It should be a 1:1 fat to meat ratio, not 100:1!

  • I regularly noticed bruised marks on Coles pork ! The bruises turn me off from buying.

  • I barely try Coles pork as I am worried about the nasty smell…

  • Try and source free-range heritage breed pork, taste's alot better.

This deal is not expired - it's in this week's Coles catalogue which says "On sale for 2 weeks". i.e. ends next Tue.

    • Thanks, updated.

  • Still not good enough. If you’re in Sydney the Pendle Hill meat market often does weekly specials on pork belly for $9.99 or $10.99 per kilo (their full price is usually between $13.99 and $14.99 a kilo)… Woolworths and Coles pork belly prices have generally ranged between $17-$21 per kilo in 2022 and 2023, for the last 2 years I have not bought pork belly once from Coles and Woolies I have just gone straight to the Pendle Hill meat market if I’m wanting some pork belly.

    • I'd go there, but unless I was stocking up my freezer, not worth the drive to save a few $$$, as I live in the Riff

  • SA is now included…$14/kg for the belly at my local.

    • Thanks, updated.

  • as I don't have a sensitive nose I'm not bothered by milady's claims of bad smell from some pork - and I browse Colesworths, Aldi and Harris Farm for the best CP looking for a nice striation of fat and meat and buy the nicest one I find wherever.

air fryer satisfies, but milady as the better cook whacks it under the griller to crisp up the crackling and it's yes omigord better than I would've turned out thank you and goodnight
