  • Just received today, had to order B grade since the linked one was OOS when I bought.

    Overall pretty good
    - minor scratch on one of the corners but barely noticeable
    - screen is fine, no dead pixels
    - keyboard is fine
    - battery health at 73.4%, 87 cycles

Paid $166 minus assorted cashback from whatever giftcards I had from last year.

  • I got mine today. Looks like someone smashed a cupcake in between the screen and the keyboard..🤢🤮I get it's a refurbished unit and all, but come on! Surley they could have wiped it down?

  • I just opened mine and battery was 76% with 21 cycles irrespective of the device being Garde A. Not happy at all.

    • Compared to last time…this is excellent. :-(

      • I have contacted them to see what they say. But Grade A should have been 80%+…

I got a $40 credit I think, or I had to just send it back. No replacement option.

        • Have you had a response? They haven't answered mine from yesterday yet.

          • @stevednj48: No response from them yet.

            • @ozshaz: They responded to me to run the battery program A grade came up at 63.1% battery so will be returning

    • How come the 21 cycles can drop the battery to 76%?

Age - these machines are nearing 6 years old.

      • Leaving them plugged into power continually also degrades batteries.

I received surface pro 6 i5-8350U with windows 11 pro installed on 9/1/24, 102% battery health with 16 cycles, almost brand new condition with a very tiny scratch on the stand and excellent keyboard condition as well. Very lucky, wonder how many got lucky like me

    • Wow

    • Do you have the purchase link? It looks like pro 5 isn't good from other users' feedback.

I use a SP5 as a spare roaming NB which is a replica of my main PC (which has a lot of apps on it).
Absolutely fine for day to day stuff but suppose depends what you use it for. OK, it's not a 2023 i7 with 32gb ram and a $1k graphics card but does the job just fine :-)

        • I noticed some users weren't happy with the purchase of pro 5 in this deal. Pro 6 could be a better deal if it's around $300.

      • i bought from this deal and they sent me SP6 instead so pretty lucky

  • I got mine recently. Good packing and shipping speed. When I first checked the battery it said 83% but now it says about 63% maximum capacity - I don't know who to trust, but I don't think it would have dropped 20% capacity in 1 week.

Overall I'm happy with it - it feels easier to use than my marginally larger and heavier laptop. I use it for music primarily, reading sheet music. It's tricky that it can't run android apps but i gather maybe you can on Windows 11 if I upgrade it?

Battery life is poor. It says 6 hours but in reality I was using it today and did not achieve that under basic usage with the screen on.

That said - I looked around at comparable prices and there's nothing like it. So I'd say still good value for the price.

I plan to get an adapter so I can charge it with USB C, and maybe a stylus/digital pen.

    • I run Android Apps via Bluestacks 5 which is an Andoid emulator. You can install whatever Android Apps you like via the built in GoogleStore. Works well.

  • Hi guys. I installed chrome flex on mine S i though chrome os would be better as I use android phone. But touch does not work with flex and i cannot install android apps as well. Is there a way to make touch work? If I go back to windows do I have to install 32 or 64 version? Thanks

Just grab the recovery image from Microsoft. It would be 64bit.
