Hey Oz Bargain Community,

Happy New Year (yes I know it's 18 Jan not 1 Jan today, but I still wanted to say it), I hope everyone's had a wonderful start to 2024!

First coffee deal of the year for us. I'll keep this one short and sweet for you :)

We're offering you a 40% discount off our much loved Colombia Cauca Single Origin and our recently launched Nicaragua Bridazul Single Origin:

1) Colombia Cauca Single Origin, only $15.59 per 500g (usually $25.99 per 500g), and $27.59 per 1kg (usually $45.98 per 1kg)

2) NOW SOLD OUT Nicaragua Bridazul Single Origin, only $27.59 per 1kg (usually $45.98 per 1kg)

Deal valid for orders placed until 23/01/2024, unless sold out before. Dispatch can happen for you as near as Monday and as far as the second last Thursday in March (21/03/24). Once a given dispatch date is at full capacity the green circle will be removed and date will turn red, first in best dressed :)

Some helpful info:

  • You're welcome to place multiple orders scheduled for dispatch at various dates (delayed dispatch) to make the most of this deal, we strive to dispatch our fresh coffee within 48 business hours of roasting
  • One dispatch per order
  • 500g bag packaging (it's resealable) is also available for orders larger than 500g this is an extra $3.60 per kg including the discount (normally $6 extra per kg) to cover the extra bag/s, label/s and time it takes to pack
  • Complimentary gift notes can be submitted via a reply message to your order confirmation email
  • The largest bag size we use is 1kg and it has a zip (it's resealable), for example if you order 4kg with 1kg packaging you will receive 4 x 1kg bags, you will not receive a single huge 4kg bag.

Following the success of our recent trials of new shipping rates, we've decided to extend these for this deal too :)
FREE SHIPPING for orders over $69. We recommend freezing any excess bags purchased to quality for free shipping, without compromising on enjoying fresh coffee.

  • $6.99 No Delivery Company Preference Flat Rate Shipping (No Parcel Locker/PO Box/Collect)
  • $7.99 Courier's Please Flat Rate Shipping (No Parcel Locker/PO Box/Collect)
  • $7.99 Australia Post Flat Rate Shipping-reduced from $8.99 (Parcel Locker/PO Box/Collect available)
  • $9.99 Express Post Flat Rate Shipping-reduced from $12.99 (Parcel Locker/PO Box/Collect available)

Unfortunately their website is either not setup right or I am missing something, it only allows you to select a date for shipping that is two days away and you can't select an immediate delivery, but then they give you the option of express postage. Why would one want express postage for a future delivery?
I paid for express postage but it will only get shipped on the date I have selected because the system doesn't let you checkout without selecting a date.

    • Hey @nadan I do appreciate that you are frustrated as after replying to your DM and emails you are still seeking a further explanation. However, we've done the best with the information we had. I'll reiterate the explanation for you again here and if it's still not clear then you're welcome to ask for more specific clarification.

      1) The site is setup correctly. Regardless of the size of a company dispatch is limited to a company's resources. There are a number of reasons we have a dispatch schedule for orders. The reason that's most applicable for this explanation is that we don't want to bite off more than we can chew and let customers down with slow dispatch. As such we have a transparent schedule and when a given date is at full dispatch capacity it will become unavailable for selection. This way customers know the exact day their order will be dispatched before they've spent their hard earned money on an order
      2) This is not your first order from us, so you've had experience with how our dispatch system works
      3) You acknowledged that you new Monday was the selected dispatch date. However, you assumed Express shipping means next day dispatch. We've never said anywhere that Express shipping overrides the dispatch date a customer selects and your order confirmation specifically states your order will be dispatched on the dispatch date you've selected
      4) You did not email us before or after you placed your order requesting we fast track your dispatch if possible, so there is no way we could safely assume this is what you wanted us to try to do
      5) A notable amount of people who select Express shipping place an order well in advance of when they'd like the order dispatched. Some people select Express and a dispatch date more than a month in advance. Express shipping can mean someone is about to run out of coffee, but it can also mean someone simply want their coffee to arrive at super speed so it's extra fresh
      6) We dispatched order every single day this week. We have a first in, best dressed dispatch policy, so customer don't always need to wait two business days for dispatch. Our dispatch schedule is based on how busy we are and who reserves dispatch spots first
      7) As per my email, in you're still unhappy with the explanation and would like to cancel your order, that won't be an issue and they'll be no hard feelings from us. If this is the case please let us know by Sunday as your dispatch is scheduled for Monday

Thank you again for your order and I hope this clarifies everything for you :)

No the website is not setup correctly if you can't select immediate shipping, you only allow certain dates in the future to be selected and why would anyone pay for express hipping if your delivery can only be scheduled days in the future and not the next day.
I selected Monday because the system wasn't allowing Thursday/Friday or the weekends, Monday was the only option. And I thought common sense would prevail that if a customer chooses and pays for express postage that it gets shipped immediately. You should have a warning on your site to notify your customer that you don't have immediate shipping and they shouldn't waste their money on express postage.

Have a bit of compassion for a small business. There's only so many deliveries that can be dispatched in a day by a small team. Get in line and enjoy the coffee (and Tim Tam). Also, it's roasted to order! Some things in this world don't need to be instant.

Everyone but you understands how the date system works.
Express shipping does not override the delivery date you choose. You select a date from the ones available, and then select a shipping option for the date chosen. Express shipping simply means that the delivery will be express on that specific date.

@NudeBinoculars: You missed the point where I said you can't choose immediate delivery or even next day, the only option was two days in the future and it wouldn't let me checkout without choosing a date.

@nadan: That’s not how the date picker/delivery system works. If there are no dates available for today or next day then you can’t get it sent on those dates. Pretty simple to understand.
