[Pre Order] Bonus $150 Gift Card with Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Order, Bonus $500 Gift Card with Trade-in @ Officeworks

490

I think this is the best deal? unsure if the $500 gift card can be used at check out
or any info, never done officeworks trade in before.

It would bring it down to $1,547 for 512gb version if thats true. if someone has done it let me know!
it also says with an eligible mobile phone. but i have a iPad tablet it will let me trade in but not sure if that works for the $500 gift card?

    Nice find

  • +1

Is this trade in similar to some of the others, where you don't actually have to send in the trade-in device? (Obviously missing out on the trade-in value but still get the $500 gc)

    • That what I wanna know too. I don't have anything to trade

    • +1

If we fail to receive the Device from you for any reason, or you fail to comply with clause 5.2(d), then we
reserve the right to immediately convert the full amount of the Pre-authorisation into a charge without further
notice to you. For the avoidance of doubt, we will charge the Pre-authorisation amount, and you will get to
retain the Retailer Gift Card we provided you. To the extent that we receive the Device from you outside of the
7-day period in clause 5.2(d) and we exercise our rights under this clause, then we will return the Device to you
      by post.

Cant see any terms relating to GC

      • +1

Now the next question, what's the cheapest trade in we can do, to be able to get the $500 GC?

  • +2

Plus the $500 Gift Card with trade in. That's a good deal.

    • The Mastercard makes it good. Use it on anything.

No option for pixel 8 pro :(

    • That offer finished in November. Don't think you'll see it again.

      • +1

I think he means that you cant trade in the Pixel Pro 8. I just tried it and it had all older Pixels except the the Pixel 8 Pro to trade in.

      • Yeah i got a free phone from that deal. Optus never started the contract cause they couldn't port my number :)

    • +1

No idea why I got negged. I obviously mean for a trade in.

  • +47

RRP $2400 for a $1200 phone, offer $650 in incentives and people think it's a good deal

    • +1

That is an average life, nothing to laugh at. Have you ever been to the woolies?

      • No, is Woolies good?

    • -1

why you think it is a $1200 phone?

  • Highly unlikely $500 GC can be used on the actual device. Normally it comes after

    • Is there anything to stop us returning the phone as soon as we buy it and then repurchasing with the vouchers? (other than looking like a twat)

      • +1

Gift Card normally gets sent like 2 weeks after I belive, based on previous deals like this

    • GC is instant once you submit the trade in, so it is available to be used on the purchase. Did it myself last year. Also says so in the trade in portal.

      • +1

The trade in value is instant, but the bonus $500 GC isn't. Just did it.

  • +4

It's the cheapest in theory, but not in reality. You will be at a loss of:
    - Shell out more $$ upfront
    - Actual value of GC -10%
    - No free S Care +
    - No free accessories

    • +1

I agree, but the anxiety levels using Samsung store. It's a 50-50 chance they mess up order, order not delivered, etc. I had to deal with Samsung store on one occasion no problems, on second occasion just a freaking headache.

      • +1

Anxiety yes but there has been no issue with phone orders, it's mainly larger items.
I have been pre-ordering from the last 5-6 years, always has arrived a day prior to release date.

      • The online store isn't that bad.

      • I've heard bad experiences but i've ordered
        TV,
        Buds,
        Phones,
        Watches

        without issues

    • +1

True, but higher $$ upfront is actually useful for some of us (purchase protection, trs etc)
(the other 3 points stand well, except I'm clueless on what accessories I'd get to be able to sell off easily to recoup value)

      • Watch/Tablet/Buds

      • I bought Samsung S23 FE through Samsung Store and got sent smart tiles that I sold for $120, Galaxy buds fe and a powerbank.

    • No Samsung edu account though :(

      • +1

Gen store is only an extra $42 for 512Gb, you can ealy cover that using cashrewards which is 4%cashback

        • Good point! I suppose no longer being a student helps too

          • @JobbaWobba: Plus you get a cachback from Samsung. I am on their Platinum level so its 5% back

    • +1

My previous experience with Samsung Care+ means I would never pay anything for it nor care if it was included or not.

  • +1

if OW can give $500 giftcard i wonder how much profit they get by selling 1 phone.. hmmm im feel being ripped off already

    • +4

You are ripped off only if you buy, If you don't you will be fine.

      • yep it was a friendly reminder to others :) but i guess some people are just rich enough

  • I'm on the Samsung website and the cart shows $1504 for a 512gb s24 ultra (trading in Oppo X5 Pro). Anyone know of any better deals?

    • +1

Yes. You can get it at JB for $948. Check my comment below.

      • I'm a Boost customer so I won't qualify. thanks anyway!

        • Take a new number. It doesn’t matter if you don’t port if you’re cancelling anyway.

  • +7

Just so everyone is aware. On samsungs T&Cs AI features are only free to the end of 2025. Massive kick in the teeth for something used as the main selling point of s24.

  • +1

my fold 5 trading value is 1345 in officework, only 945 in samsung. intersting samsung value their own flagship phone so low. this is a better deal for me

    • $1300 at JB

  • -1

    RRP $2400

Won't make sense to get this deal with rrp.

    50% rrp and we're talking

  • +1

Site says s24 series. Doesnt have to be ultra

  • +1

Has it been confirmed that us aussies get the snapdragon processor instead of the exynos?

Edit: S24 and S24+ get the exynos chip. Boo

    • Really? Fk maybe just get the S23 then zz. Or buy off ebay.

  • +1

JB have a far better deal. $973 all in (calculated based on trading in an S22.)

S24 Ultra is $2199. Sign up for the JB Hifi mobile plan in store on the $99 pm plan to receive a $1450 dollar gift card (up from $1100 for non S24 purchases. Cancel the plan next month if you so choose and pay the $800 cancellation fee.

$325 value for an S22 trade in PLUS bonus $350 equalling $675.

    Costs: $2199 + $800 cancellation fee + $99 first months payment on the plan = $3098.

    Then deduct the $1450 gift card + $325 value of the S22 + $350 bonus trade = $2125

    $3098 - $2125 = $973.

Adjust as per your trade in device but bonus $350 available on any trade in.

Won’t get it cheaper than that!

    • +3

It will be that price without trading in your S22 in about 4-5months time on Ozb. Watch this space.

    • +4

The $350 bonus credit says in the TCs that it's not in conjunction with mobile offer so I don't think you can stack them?

      • -1

You can stack them. They are completely separate transactions. The trade in is handled by Squaretrade, there’s no way they could possibly know if you got the mobile deal in store.

    • +3

      Terms and conditions:

If you cancel or move to a lower cost/different plan then you must pay a Voucher Repayment Fee to Telstra pro-rated against the remaining months of your plan’s minimum term.

      • +1

Yes. The voucher repayment fee is $800 as it’s calculated on the base offer not any promotional offer running at the time.

        • +2

The good guys are offering $1600 gift card on the same plan. Plus $300 gift card if you are concierge member.

        • Ah nice, thanks!

      • The voucher repayment fee is probably $800 prorated https://www.telstra.com.au/content/dam/tcom/help/critical-in…

It's annoying that the numbers are spread across different documents.

    • +2

Was in store thismorning.and reviewed T&C's with staff
you won't be able to apply the $1450 and the $350 bonus coupons together for the same purchase.
Although through a 3rd party the coupons are issued by JB's and wont stack.

Base value of the trade in will still be redeemable on top of the $1450

      • You need to speak to another member of staff or maybe just try the deal… it works 100%. Of course staff will tell you what the TCs say but you can use coupons on top of gift cards. Get the gift card then go online and use the coupon if you really want to.

  • +4

Also 5x flybuys onepass and with 28 degrees price protection this is probably going to be the best deal as long as you value the officeworks gift cards. It should also include the storage upgrade (512gb for price of 256gb).

    • If it's anything like the Google pixel 8 offer, the gift card is not mentioned on the receipt, so it will be eligible for price protection claims.

  • HOLD

  • Use the samsung app to get 5% ontop also if you go down that path (first time purchasers)

  • Not good enticing deals on S24Ultra. The least i could drop down was 1371.

    • Do you mind share more details, thanks

      • I did trade in of flip 5 512 on website using trade in bonus and GalaxyAI coupon

    • +1

Not happy considering i got the fold 5 for $1290. Then it dropped to like $900 then $600 a few days later.

Sub $1k for a new flagship or bust.

      Let the discount stacking begin

  • Hey guys, can I ask how we can get the bonus giftcard? The website for trade in only appear the value of trade in phone and not sure how they know we get pre-order and send 500 giftcard?

    • +1

      No one asked

    • Stay away from a mirror?

      Jk

But seriously, iphones dont make you prettier

    • Hi mates, can I ask how you apply the trade in discount in the cart? Do we do thr trade in and then we have a voucher to apply it? And how we track 500 gift car bonus?

    • I got a similar deal but they also sent me an additional custom code for an additional $200 off for trade in that brought it down to $687. Code seems to have been targeted.

    • +2

I have perfect S23 Ultra & would be insane to spend extra money on alredy expensive phone for at least another (1-3+) year (Care+ not utilised yet).
This Western consumerism creates depressive bipolar disorder of overspending for show-off.
Despite being stuck with the productive S-pen, the only reason I upgraded from the excellent Note 10+ was the 8K 30fps (futureproof hi-res memories), excellent battery, & few more improvements.
I'm waiting for Harmony OS to take over the more reasonable value-for-money devices (& I use advanced smartphones since 2001;)

    • update: apologies - this was via the samsung website, with student discount and various codes that were given

    • I have s23ultra 512gb from ow last year. Trying to find a cheapest option.

    • Where is this ?

      • I did it this morning, no idea how it came to this, but im not complaining, used all the codes samsung sent me the last few weeks

        • What device did you trade in ?

          • @codename47: iphone 14 por max 128gb

            • @DJN: So what’s the trading value you get for the iphone?

  • I watched a review and is seems there aren't any significant hardware improvements. The only way Samsung is basically marketing it is by intentionally hamstringing previous versions and not releasing updated software for them.
Given that they promise x years of software support, I find this to be borderline misleading.

    • +1

      SD 8 Gen3 .. just buy

      • Not enough to warrant s23U to S23U. Not like 22U to 23U was.
Only the software and camera upgrades are any significant difference and the software AI is only 12 months for free apparently then you have to pay.

  • I bought s23 from ow with similar deal. It takes like 2months + chasing up on emails to finally get the bonus money. I would not recommend getting it this way. You get a better deal from Samsung website.

  • waiting for Harvey Norman Optus Deal

  • -3

got my 24 ultra 512gb off samsung website, with 45w charger and earbuds 2 pro down total to $1,162. if you minus the best price for a 45w charge ($30) and buds 2 pro ($170), the phone itself is $962

    this is after the following:

    Traded in s22 ultra 512gb - $555

total discounts plus all the pre-order vouchers, trade in bonus, accessories voucher bonus - $1,100.

    • Actual purchase price I would say 962+555=1517

      • well i hv no use for the old phone… i rather recycle it with money rather than letting it collect dust..

        • Simply that's ur phone and hence ur money after selling, not a free voucher.

          • @keepsmiling: ? whn did i ever say its a free voucher? you need to get glasses yo.. or read better. go to school for a change and learn how to read and interpret.
