Clearing out the old stock I guess. The new 2.4ghz version will have hall effect sticks.

Didn't realise they were upgraded with Hall-Effect.

Never made sense why they released both a 2.4G and Bluetooth at the same time, but didn't have hall-effect in the 2.4G.

I bought 2 of them until someone told me they dont have it :P

          What's hall effect?

@CustardShot: Different tech in the joysticks meaning you won't get stick drift.

          • +1

@CustardShot: different mechanism for the joy sticks which removes issues like joystick drift you get in other controllers like joy-cons etc

          • @CustardShot: An alternative to the traditional potentiometer-type joystick.

Both have their pros and cons.

          • +1

@CustardShot: Uses magnets to determine the stick position so there's no wear and tear from parts rubbing together, which in theory eliminates drift

  • Does the bluetooth work on PC?

    • These aren't the Bluetooth version.
And the Bluetooth version doesn't work on PC.

      • The BT version most certainly does with on PC, and just devices actually. That said it's easier to just plug in the base and use 2.4 ghz.

        • I've never got mine to work on PC via Bluetooth, even with up to date firmware.
          Is there any secret?

Update: Just had a look on 8Bitdo's website and it says:
          Connectivity
          Bluetooth®5.0(for Switch only)

          • @Cordova: Yeah, there is. Connect via bluetooth as a switch pro controller. Hard reset. Reconnect. Works as a switch pro controller. Android just recognises it as a switch pro controller and is happy to proceed.

Officially only X input is supported for PCs.

Retailers have been trying to get rid of this stock since PAX, where they were also available for this exact price (as a conference-only special), only in mint. I feel like eventually we're going to see whatever's left go out for $15 on Prime day or similar.

The bluetooth version having the Switch button layout is very annoying lol.

  • No checkbox coupon showing for me

    • Gone, marked as expired.

  • what do these work on?

  • Nice one Richard. I think that's the lowest of all time.
    Shame on the colour really.

    • Lots of girls will hate you John!!!!
      Kidding

      • I think it's the black analogue sticks and d pad. It makes the controller look horrible if it was another colour it might have been ok.
