Not sure if the ASUS offers much over this for $18.70?

Just an FYI (for desktop users), you can buy a Fenvi Intel AX210 WiFi 6E adapter for this price from Aliexpress and it would be a combination of Wifi 6E and bluetooth 5.0 in one device.

You will need to however connect one of your motherboard's internal USB header to the wifi card (and obviously have at least 1 spare 1x PCI slot)

Here's an even cheaper TP-Link UB500, $14 with free postage from Harris Tech. It normally costs $16 from Officeworks.

    • Which version of the driver you are using? Any issue with Win 11 & 10?

      • For Fenvi or USB dongle?

I haven't installed any drivers manually, I just let windows update do it's thing usually and let it chose it's own WHQL driver

The real deal is always in the comment section.

The real deal is the friend we made along the way.

the value of old PC without bluetooth/wifi feature might under $35

Had one. Didn't work well with Windows 10. If you have an internal Bluetooth card, you need to disable it first from the device manager. Then, install this to get it working. Because according to Microsoft, only one Bluetooth driver (the default one) is allowed at all times. I did but the performance is still unstable and frequent connect/disconnect issues. I replaced it with a Zexmte Bluetooth long range adaptor, works fine now.

    Aliexpress way cheaper.

      And BT 5.3 too

  • Those "real deal" in comments are just for casual users. If you are just connecting you mouse/keyboard you will be fine.

But if you are into some advanced features buy this one. The hardware it using will save your life.

If you don't understand what I am talking about. Go cheap

    • Literally save my life? I'm intrigued.

      • Google CVE-2023-45866

        • Yikes, how does this dongle prevent it? Does this mean we should be disabling all our onboard BT receivers? I hardly use BT, but I have it enabled on my Windows PC. From what I was reading though, Windows isn't affected, or at least it requires the user to do something, which is a turn up for the books!

I'm assuming these can be patched at the OS level?

    • Are you seriously going "audiophile" on a dongle?
This does not even specify which chip it uses. It will be just another reference design built around a $10 module, so they don't want people to know that.

Not that I'd tell people to buy a random $3 dongle off aliexpress. It may well not actually be 5.0, as most cases would not notice the difference from 4.2. And the antenna can be an issue.

BTW, what is the usage case to prefer this over a cheaper 4.2 dongle? I hope not audio in the same room :-)
