Anko Bluetooth Oval Over-Ear Headphones - Black $10 + Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store/ OnePass/ $65 Order) @ Kmart

770

These are a clearance line but there is plenty of stock at my nearest store.
I was so happy with the set I purchased that I am going to buy another one as spare or for gifts.

Mini review: The sound quality is acceptable but not stunning. The real drawcard is the 45 hour battery life. I can use these headphones for 8 hours per day and only need to charge them once a week.
I found the bluetooth connection to be rock solid and they were very comfortable over the ears for extended usage. The control buttons on the side are a nice feature that I found useful too.

    😲

  • Not bad battery life.

My Edifier W830BT Wireless Bluetooth Headset has 95 hour battery life which i expect to degrade over the years but it was way more than $10.

The beauty of these ones is that when the inbuilt battery or Bluetooth eventually dies you can use the included 3.5mm audio cable to keep listening to them.

      • oh wow that is nice

got these for $3 at target last week, clearence section, but blue ones for kids, i don't have a head or ears, so its just for show

    • Lol are they comparable?

      • -5

you can compare mine are blue 😅
        but are wired though

    • Kids ones are volume limited and these are not, so they are not the same. Wait for the day when you are on a plane and your kids tell you they can't hear anything and you'll be off to buy another pair.

I want a spare one to use while waiting for my QC45 being charged. Thanks

Does it have a microphone? Is it any good?

    • +1

Yes , there is a mic. Haven't tested call quality yet.

      • Also curious to know the mic quality. I have a pair of Kmart AirPod knockoffs and I used them in a teams meeting once, everyone said they were awful quality from their perspective.

    • The other question to ask is does the mic work when using the cable connection? I bought some Bluetooth headphones with a removable cable for my Xbox one, purely to play wired as Bluetooth doesn’t work with Xbox, discovered the included wire didn’t have the extra contact on the jack for microphone even though they do have a microphone for Bluetooth mode. I wanted a set with replaceable wire as kids/dog keep breaking the wire.

  • this might stop me buying $5 aliexpress bt earbuds…cheers

  • im just curious how the noise leakage and how much one could get away with on a quiet carriage

otherwise yeah buy a few and use them for sweaty exercises

im still figuring out how to renew some very badly used work/gym headphones that got way too much sweat in way too much sun.. they smell bad.. i might do a laundry experiment soon but have not been ballsy enough to try it yet

    • +1

Just spray them with Lynx Africa

      • have you ever had really sweaty stinky smelly dirty gym clothes and then try to make them nice with just deodorant and nothing else..

yeah nah hard pass for me mate sorry

        • have you ever had really sweaty stinky smelly dirty gym clothes and then try to make them nice with just deodorant and nothing else..

Every teenager since 2000 has, yes.

Do these have audio lag? Can you watch video without issue?

    • +1

Depends, I notice at least 0.2 seconds delay but not video breaking.

      • I notice 0.2 seconds delays

        😲

Get OnePass for a year for $20 instead of paying $10 shipping if your local stores are OOS.

    • yep..onepass free delivery makes this deal superdoopercheap

      • +2

I honestly can’t imagine not having OnePass anymore.

OnePass, Prime, eBay Plus and Woolworths Unlimted Deliveries…basically no need to go to the shops anymore.

        • OOS online, nothing new.

How does it compare to Bose QC45? Similar sound quality? Anyone have both and can vote for it? Thank you

    • +2

      probably the same ….

    • +12

These are better than the Bose QC45 and Sony wh-1000xm5 combined

      11/10

      • Thank you, I have bought and hopefully sounds better than qc45 and wh1000xm5

        🤣

    • I'd say the Bose would be better - but probably not 35 x better

    • Not sure if trolling…

      • Of course, slow day at work. It’s fun to triggered some snowflakes 😁

        • Haha yeah, different headphone price/quality is such a snowflake thing!

Don't forget to say "just a prank bro" at the end for a double burn

  • Nice share, i like it!

  • -2

    Cheers got one

  • Very tempting. Can I return and get a refund if I don’t like it?

    • It's Kmart, they are pretty good with returns. They'll just accept it and put it in the clearance basket for less.

    • Not sure about headphones and return policy. Almost like underwear.

How to check which store has stock?

  • +1

I have one of these and to be honest for $25, it's a VERY below average headphone. Muddy sound and boomy bass but I am a Sennheiser and Hifiman headphone user so anything like this is for emergency use only. I think I paid $19 for it on sale last year. For 10 bucks, it is a much better buy. I use it for watching news on the TV in the rumpus room without disturbing family members, for that audio quality is fine.

    • +2

yeah these are all uniformly completely shit

cheap stuff like taotronics are better by quite a margin

these anko headphones are ok for voice and say TV shows but they are very very tonally bad for music

i dont want to compare to 'real' headphones but something like the AKG or Sony or B&W or anything truly good and you cant go back to anything even remotely ordinary

for $10 though they are fine for kids or maybe gaming or anything nothing to do with music

  • +2

I have one of these. For $10 its a steal. I might get another one as mine is half broken. Overtime it broke at the junction on one side due to stretching outwards when putting it on over head. Maybe my head is too big. I taped it back and its still going strong. I think the quality is great for such a small price. I use it on the piano and its been excellent.

  • Thanks OP , bought one

  • +1

Headband is made out of cheese. All three given to our kids (not by me) ended up breaking near the slider.
Expect to be disappointed or treat them very gently if you proceed.

  • +2

Thanks OP. Bought one. Great value for the money with BT over the ear. Just need to buy Sony sticker.

  • +2

Buy first, think later, and then regret.

I picked it up an hour ago now I am putting it in a drawer for $10 not even worth checking the refund policy.

I never thought about how terrible it could be. For $10 I didn't expect anything premium so I won't complain about the material it's made of, but the sound quality is OMG terrible.

Forget about the music as the singer sounds miles away from you, and the microphone is simply not usable, tried phone calls and Zoom, no one can hear what I am saying other than mumbling. Can't think of any use case for it probably except gym as you just need a sound doesn't matter if you can tell that's Ariana or Adele.

  • Thanks for sharing. I bought 1 to use as earmuff when i do the lawn mower.

  • Bought a noise canceling pair from the "Coles - come and see what I've got - never to be seen again Aldi like specials section" for $39, yet to try out.

  • +1

    yeah i just tried mine

they are actually not too bad at all… they are truly not that far behind taotronics and that ilk

for casual listening i could actually do this… ie. i also can use headphones at work and these would be fine to leave there overnight… i would not leave my prized b&w and akg etc. over there

these are i'd say about $40 retail

for $10 yeah I mean of course

  • Ordered online but order got cancelled as out of stock

  • +1

    THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RUBBISH!

Got mine today. They take forever to pair (both on iPad and Samsung phone). Have to attempt multiple times.

    Then it doesn't work.

So you have to keep turning off and on until eventually it works.

Then you can't hear a thing, because on max, the volume is WAY TOO LOW.

Piece of garbage, will be returning both!

Edit: looks like I can't remove my upvote. This sucks.

  • Just got delivered , will check it out . Hopefully doesn’t turn out to be garbage as reported
