    Wow. Insane.

    • Hey what's the diff? One more heat pipe and more fins?

      • +2

It's even bigger and has 7 heat pipes. This has 6 heat pipes.

        • Yeah I canned my order for the 6 and went the 7 just for the extra pipe.

        • +2

The PA is technically larger in height by 1mm, width and length are the same according to Amazon. The PS looks like the replacement of the PA as it is superior in every aspect.

        comparison video - https://youtu.be/iaJBsQPqxRA?si=WjCxbsORn5V36ysc&t=483

tldw, main diff is heatpipe which translates to about 1-2C better thermals under load

        • Yeah nice, thanks. Big improve

    • Thanks, got this one, great review, time to retired my AIO 360mm, as I find it too noisy trying to keep my Ryzen 5900x cool. Hopefully the PS120 SE ARGB will fix that noise issue.

      • +1

Thermalright PS120SE ARGB today, installed..WOW…the temperature is 17C load and low noise vs my DeepCool AIO 360mm water cooler reach about 90C load
. Amazing…no more water cooler, it's bulky and noisy.

        • +1

I mean 17C lower vs AIO.

  • Excellent price for a great cooler. Nice and quiet and does a great job for budget air.

Word of warning, this thing is fairly large for a cooler - make sure your case can fit it. For my build, the fans don't give enough ram clearance so one of the fans juts out more than another, making it look awkward (still functional however). You can see it at https://youtu.be/kt2to1f1SU0?si=tfWgvvFY6rkrtOA1&t=391 - the right fan needs to be put higher and even then, it is barely above the RAM sticks

    • +6

That will depend on what RAM you have. Some RAM sticks are taller than others due to the headspreader, which will interfere with your cooler if it so thick that it goes over your RAM slots.

that's one reason not to buy RAM with RGB lighting if you are going with tower-based air cooler.

    • +1

It is actually small for a dual tower cooler.
But yes dual tower coolers are big.

Two fans barely makes a difference so you can really just run the middle one and put the other on a case inlet.
Good airflow through the case will achieve more.

I have mine on an AM5 build and corsair vengence ram, it does sit right above the ram and sticks out about 3-4mm above the heatsink. still worth it imo and the performance is great (I have the PS not the PA)

    Nice profile pic change ;)

    • +1

I'll buy that for a dollar haha

  • Anyone know the differences between the different Peerless Assassin models?
Outside of the obvious RGB what's the difference between TL-C12, TL-C12C, TL-C12B-S V2, TL-C12C-S etc.

    • Different fan speeds. Wouldn't matter very much as long as you manually adjust the fan curve and limit the max RPM to minimise the noise levels.

  • +1

Great cooler. Have the 120SE keeping my 7800X3D very cool. Needed the regular/short Corsair Vengeance DDR5 to fit underneath

    • +2

You can also mount the fan slightly higher, have you tried that?

    • Can just leave the second fan off completely. 7800x3D doesnt make enough heat to ever need it.

    • +1

What temps are you getting to? I put a Deepcool Assassin IV on my 7800x3d and it idles in the low 50’s, and averages around 70c in game.
HWinfo shows spikes into the high 80s but it doesn’t get there very often.
I was hoping for better performance from the cooler and was wondering how other similar coolers go.
Then again 7900xtx probably dumping a lot of heat into the case

Good cooler. Bought the rgb one. The rgb on it sucks. I leave rgb unplugged, but great cooler for the price.

    • +1

What's wrong with it? I set it so that the colour of the RGB indicates how cool/hot the temps are.

  • Love that the middle fan has rgb. Would you even be able to see it?

Current value king for me is the burst assassin 120 (ba120), currently $32 at bezos warehouse.

    • +1

Not so much, but it gives you some flexibility in how you want to set the fans up as you get the two identical fans.

    • Yes you can see it

    • has a TPC of 245W…. lies. It couldn't even handle anything close to that.

  • Great deal, I bought the Deepcool Assassin IV at more than double this price just the other week 🥲

  • +2

Excellent product. I have the PS120SE ARGB version for my 5950X, and keeps it cool and quiet.

  • Has anyone OC/HEAT/LOAD tested one of these, or the 7 heatpipe version? Could they handle an FX 9370 at 220W?

    • +1

GamersNexus has done extensive testing, the PA is market leader and blows away Noctua D15.
Water cooling still wins at the highest wattages.

    • I'd save the money for a CPU upgrade, also they might not even fit older sockets.

      • Why? It still works fine. It's dialed down to 4ghz and undervolted. I only play Easy Red 2 anyway. Bit of a frankenstein machine with an intel A380 LP. Lmao

        • Because of how much electricity those things use. Even a cheap upgrade like an i5 8400 it'll still be quite a bit faster and use a fraction of the power.

          • @BROKENKEYBOARD: Maxes out at about 80w at 100%, so it's not too bad. It doesn't really need to ramp up to full power to drive an A380 at 1080p.

    • +1

There's no clear reason to spend an extra $10 on something that's barely any better (unless you want the aesthetic difference). Even the PS120 (non-SE) is cheaper than the PA120 non-SE, as already previously linked.

  • I have the non SE version on my i5-13600k, works great. It definitely looks better in the case and is the version gamer nexus used for testing.

  • Great cooler - doesn't throttle my 7950x and isn't overly loud.

  • Truly excellent product. Best value improvement for any gaming pc.

So much better than the stock cooler and nice and quiet.

  • Does anyone know if there is something like this but with lower than 138mm height? (i have small case)

  • Very good deal.
Ordered one yesterday and got delivered this afternoon.
Placed my old Intel original CPU cooler and the temperature dropped from 80 degree to 45 degree when playing witcher3.
It's quite quiet, maybe a bit overkill for my 12400F.

  • I have a couple of phantom spirits in the house and can confirm they are up there with my Noctua D15 (except maybe mounting).

Skip the peerless assassin and get the Phantom Spirit for slightly better performance (7 heat pipes vs 6) at the same price point
