Pixel 7a is a budget version of the Pixel 7 which has regularly gone on sale for $499 since last year so I'm not sure how this is a deal..

    • +2

Agreed, Telstra just had a $499 deal for the Pixel 7 (which JB price-matched) a couple weeks ago.

I have this phone. Feels cheap and has sharp edges. Not sure why they didn't make an effort to make it feel comfortable in the hand.
Have a play with one in store before buying

    • +1

      Put a case on it?

      • Or buy another phone. Mine is for work so don't care as it sits on my desk all day. Much rather use a Samsung anyway

        • I agree, much prefer the Galaxy personally.

  • All time low on the Pixel 7a

    That would be incorrect

heard many say google pixel has the best call screening app
is it in the google pixel 7a, if so how good is it?

    • +1

Yes, it's there like the flagships.

    • Call screening and holding assistant (which holds for you when you call super loop and put on hold for long periods for example) are brilliant on the pixel 7a!

The spam blocking is also uncanny!

  • Bring back Pixel 7 for $499 pls

    • Got the previous link?

        • why not Pixel 8 for a little bit more

          • @Poor Ass: I don't see where you would get a Pixel 8 for close to 499?

@iPodVideo: Dunno this came to mind for $8XX

@Poor Ass: not really "a little bit more"

                • @iPodVideo: Hahaha yeh ok you got me

                  • @Poor Ass: Was $499 and even better with the extra $30 off.

Wish I was morre organised and had discounted JB gift cards like someone in that post lol.

@ozhunter68: don't worry it'll come back when they are clearing old stock

just like when pixel 3 was on special $2XX

                      • @Poor Ass: Haha, I'm happily still using my Pixel 3 XL in some ways prefer to Pixel 7, but not totally.

                        • @ozhunter68: oh I have a Pixel 3 XL sitting in a draw and has black screen of death but I believe still charges

they just not selling any cheap screens for repair

if you still using Pixel 3 XL you must be charging your phone 3 times a day if you still got the OG battery

                          • @Poor Ass: No, still just 50%-70% a day, sometimes even less. I do use two phones at a time and juggle. Bought it second hand as new on eBay 2 yrs ago and think it was not used much. Original battery too.

                            • @ozhunter68: how much did you buy for

                              • @Poor Ass: Around $200 in box with all accessories as new included. The seller had another Pixel 3 white also sold same week. Then a few weeks later I got a message from seller saying to just take phone in to get battery replaced and they would re-emburse costs. When I replied message went to wrong person and I was happy with my phone and battery, got the full amount refunded. Go figure?

                                • @ozhunter68: hmmm so confusing

so they accidently messaged you to get battery replaced and gave you money or you complained about bad battery and they refunded you after you lodged an ebay complaint?

                                  • @Poor Ass: Before my purchase I asked about condition of battery.
Looks like other buyer complained and they mixed up buyers and sent message to me accidentally. I responded to them saying wrong buyer and let him know I was happy. Then following week got Full refund for $200+- (maybe as he had compassion on me as I told him in a message I was homeless with the earlier N.N.S.W. floods which I was).

@ozhunter68: Google will replace with a refurbished one if you have a bulging battery. Got this done for my Pixel 1 but I think my replacement is now bulging

                                      • @10101010101: No need, battery still decent.

Thanks for the heads up though in case.
