  • I already have 6 months from the last CBA Mastercard deal and it expires in March. Does anyone know if this offer can be ADDED to my current Uber One expiring next month or do I have to wait until it expires first? Sadly this offer is only valid until end of Feb so won't be in time

    • +2

      Try it and see

      • +1

Just tried but I get an "Something went wrong! Please try again later."

        • +1

Yeah same here. Maybe because my card was already added, might try again.

          Edit
uhhh. try spam clicking. mine just stacked and says it'll start from Feb 2024. hahaha

          Edit 2.
Now I can't be sure I hadn't already stacked it.. think I might've. So you should definitely be able to stack once, maybe not twice. I should have waited a couple weeks for the Paypal one to end. D'oh.

          • +3

@fLaMePrO: From my experience, I had the paypal 6 free months, and then I could queue the commbank 6 months after. Couldn't queue any more after that.

      • I already had it too (until March) and when I claimed it it said "Your offer will start at the beginning of your next billing cycle on 7 March, 2024."

    • Where do I find this CBA deal? I just cancelled my latitude card cause they charge you fees to pay your balance with BPAY!

      • +1

cause they charge you fees to pay your balance with BPAY!

Then pay by Direct Debit… No fees.

        • I juggle my money around accounts and when I do direct debit I forget about it then get charged $30, so not really an option!

          • @Bdawg:

when I do direct debit I forget about it

how is that different to bpay?

          • -1

            @Bdawg:

when I do direct debit I forget about it

Er, use the Calendar app in your phone to set reminders.

    • I had 4 months free (from Westpac Mastercard I think) expiring 23Feb.

Now Latitude will have 6 months beginning from 23 Feb.

So yes, it will add on to the end of your current Uber One plan.

      • is westpacs still available?
        or other ones

  • +2

thanks op - now i can check out uber one

  • +2

Currently using an NRMA freebie set to expire early Feb. after claiming this deal, Uber1 states that it will commence after the current membership expires. Just gotta set a reminder to cancel membership as soon as the new promo starts.

      • My comment confirms that I've stacked it on top of the NRMA deal.

  • +1

oooh interesting deal thanks for sharing op!

  • -2

Just give away your identity Latitude data leak.. Free UBER!

  • What does uber 1 entitle you to?

    • +8

Uber One is a membership program offered by Uber Eats. Here are the entitlements you receive as an Uber One member:

      1. $0 Delivery Fee: You won't be charged any delivery fees on eligible orders from participating restaurants and stores marked with the Uber One icon¹.
      2. Reduced Service Fee: Enjoy up to 30% off the regular service fee on eligible orders¹.
      3. Member Savings on Rides: As an Uber One member, you'll have access to savings on your rides.
      4. Priority Access to Top-Rated Drivers: You'll be given priority when requesting rides from highly rated drivers.
      5. Exclusive Member Perks: These may include special promotions and unique experiences.
      6. $5 Credit for Missed Arrival Estimate: If the estimated arrival time for your order is missed, you'll receive a $5 Uber One credit¹.
      7. Flexible Cancellation: You can cancel your Uber One membership anytime without additional fees.
      8. Monthly Savings: On average, Uber One members save $27 every month¹.

Keep in mind that the benefits are subject to terms and conditions, and some restrictions apply. For example, the $5 Uber One credit is not available for orders delivered by a store or for grocery orders packed by delivery people, and it expires after 60 days¹. Additionally, the service fee discount applies only to orders with a $0 delivery fee and varies based on the basket value¹. Be sure to review the full terms when signing up for Uber One¹.

        how about asking chatgpt instead?

        • +1

Certainly! Let's switch gears and ask ChatGPT. 🤖

ChatGPT, what do you think about the Uber One membership program and its entitlements? 🚗🍔📦

    • $20 minimum order (excluding fees) to receive delivery benefits (including $0 Delivery Fee) from participating restaurants,

      • plus occasionally some stilly stacking deals ie the last KK deals

  • was hoping to stack, got "something went wrong" bugger.

    • +5

I was able to get around the "something went wrong" error. In case this helps someone else:
      - I had an existing uber one thanks to PayPal.
      - I was able to get rid of the "something went wrong" by cancelling the PayPal uber one membership. The cancellation doesn't apply until the end of the free period anyway (I probably should have already done this!)
      - Once uber one had a pending cancellation, I was able to click the link in the OP, switch payment methods and apply the promo.
      - My old promo was about to end so am happy for it to start at the next billing cycle. "Your offer will start at the beginning of your next billing cycle on 17 Feb, 2024"
      - Everything done on mobile using safari to browse ozbargain and the uber app to do the rest.

      • I already have it as well from the PayPal 6 months free, which expires 17th of February.

So I cancelled the uber one membership, added 2d card but seems I need to now renew membership. Perhaps cancelling isn't the best idea.

I hit review and 28d card as payment, No mention of 6 months free. Only that the old one finishes. May have to contact or something.

        • -1

          Same happened here.. Any news?

          • @retainer: No but will just cancel again never used uber eats etc.

  • +1

uber one basically perpetually free.. that being said quality of the weekly deals since the new year have been absolutely trash, we used to get weekly $20 and 30% offs (which make ordering in the ~40-50$ range a great deal and cheaper than cooking). Since then, nothing

  • FWIW, I had my Westpac card linked from the previous deal and like other people got the 'something went wrong' error for this.

However, i then tried submitting it again and it seemed to go through.

The confirmation message said that it would take effect from 17th Feb, so it doesn't look like it stacks.. but in my case, I had just churned from Westpac so it actually is better to use this card instead

  • right now i have :
6m free trial thx to paypal until 17 feb 2024
    then above that:
6m free from mastercard starts on 17 feb 2024 (probably citi card)

ok will do reminder to add latitude on the 18-19feb2024 and see if the above changes

    • +1

Who is game to cancel early then try entending?

Or would cancelling now also cancel the next 6 months free 😏

      • curious do they still charge the monthly account keeping fee? if you have $0.00 on them?

        • +1

Nope. The only charges are interest (if balance not paid by due date) and late fees (if no payment made).

  • Damn my PayPal ends on 26 March 2024 and already have Commbank pending after that. Hopefully offer gets extended so I can get another 6 months after Commbank!

  • 🤔 is 6 months uber one free worth the hassle of reactivating my 28 degrees card.

Stopped it after credit card fraud and I only used it for YouTube membership. So I'm gonna guess latitude dropped the ball and not google and got my card details leaked.

Only got all of my money back after I contacted the ombudsmen.

Was just waiting for my new card to be used again in credit card fraud and to pull out my trump card: but I never activated it!

    • +1

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. I unlocked my 28 deg and got the 6 months free appear at the top (still have a westpac one til May). Locked it again now so hoping when it swaps over free trials in May it doesn’t try to do a pre auth 😅

I still haven’t even used Uber eats in the last few months lol

      • Same, I just use uber eats for Coles with the 40% off coupons but now that Coles have a 10% mark up, it looks less attractive.

Only use uber when going to and from the airport.

  • Can you have multiple cards linked with the account and pay with another card, or does it have to be this card that is charged for the Uber One membership to be free?

  • +1

Right on time! My 6 months free paypal one ends Feb 17. Cheers, OP.

  • I keep getting a recurrent error. There is a payment issue.
Tried it multiple times. 8 have a Latitude 28° global platinum card.
    Is this a targetted deal?

  • +1

Good deal as a freebie, but no way worth the cost. Uber one's 'free' delivery needs to factor the service fee, the upmarked prices and minimum spend with very few deals.

  • +2

Nice thanks OP. I currently have the PayPal trial set to expire on 17 February. I was able to add my Latitude card as the payment method, and when I go to manage membership on the Uber app, it says at the top “6 months free from MasterCard starts on 17 Feb 2024.” Just to confirm, I do not need to cancel the PayPal trial and it will automatically renew as six months free?

  • Noting this deal still exists - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/801384?utm_source=newslett… - I just stacked it on top of my Paypal deal with a Comm Bank debit card for another 6 months!

    • -1

Where does it tell you that you have another 6 months ?
I've added this deal ontop of my Paypal deal and nothing happened, still just says "Your membership ends on 17 March 2024" (I cancelled the Paypal membership as soon as I redeemed it)

  • This sounds like a slippery slope. Free over-priced food delivery to spend your CC on.

  • +1

    Love your work OP

  • I pressed Add payment options, and a blank page comes up with "payment options" at the top but nothing loaded. Am i meant to add it from there on in the wallet first?

  • -1

I've added my Lattitude card but already had the Paypal promotion ending in March.. Nothing happened, still just says "Your membership ends on 17 March 2024" (I cancelled the Paypal membership as soon as I redeemed it)

  • Do you just add your card and it automatically get uber one? My normal trial ended and I added my 28o card but nothing happened

    • You need to select "go to deal" from above to get the offer.

  • right now i have :
6m free trial thx to paypal until 17 feb 2024
    then above that:
6m free from mastercard starts on 17 feb 2024 (probably citi card)

im not sure if i can just leave it expire on the 17th feb and it will auto-roll to the next free 6months, or i have to cancel the existing plan on the 16th to avoid being charged?

    • fukk just now i check my app somehow i lost this wording 6m free from mastercard starts on 17 feb 2024
it was there few days ago

  • Uber One
6 months free trial thanks to PayPal until Saturday, 17 February, 2024

6 months free from Mastercard starts on 17 Feb, 2024

    • exact same as me! im thinking on 16th evening i will cancel the membership, and see on 17 if i have start the new 6m or not.
then, add the latitude from this deal

This is such a clown of a post. Anyone who is frugile enough with their money to be browsing OzBargain would know better than to use Uber One in the first place. This is the type of post we don't need seeing around here. You sir are part of the problem, there is far too much nonsense on this website which is blocking up the feed and hiding the actual good bargains. Go away!!

    • Anyone who is frugile enough with their money to be browsing OzBargain would know better than to use Uber One in the first place. This is the type of post we don't need seeing around here.

Pro tip : know your audience.

This deal has 2504 clicks and 201 upvotes and zero downvotes.

    • Sorry I will have this post removed & will go away & think about what I’ve done 🤡

  • -1

I'm getting an error when trying to redeem this

  • +1

Just tried this again and still works.
Had to wait till my other trial expired :).
Still got till 29 Feb to activate (as long as you have a 28d card)

  • currently with 6m free from MasterCard Citibank till August2024
Click the link, add latitude card click join.
Voila.. now it says another 6m free from August 2024, also thanks to MasterCard lol

    • Nice tip, may try adding. NAB closing down my Citibank tomorrow.

So did you update and replace the current payment method? When trying to add a backup payment method the app spazzes out..

      • but i dont have nab cc.
yes nab bought citi but for now just the transactions not credit card businesses
hmm not replace current but yes i remember i set the default to latitude. doesnt matter now i think, because now our offer is still with citi, we need to use citi cc to pay to get uberone benefits

        • Yeah correct, the Citi visa debit became a MasterCard a few years ag and since NAB bought out Citi they are finally closing the old accounts/cards tomorrow (at least in my case).
The replacement NAB visa should offer most of the same perks and fees I believe.

Cool, didn't think could have both promos.

          • @G-rig: old accounts/cards tomorrow (at least in my case).
not the credit card, just the transaction account. not now at least

  • Paypal offer ends 22/3
Westpac 4 months offer starts 22/3
    ->
    Cancel membership
    ->
Only Paypal offer remains (ends 22/3)
    ->
    Claim 28Degrees offer
    ->
    Paypal offer ends 22/3
    28Degrees 6 months offer starts 22/3

So I guess no harm done cancelling the Westpac one queued up as I get 2 more months claiming this offer

  • I activated this offer, now uber gives me an error

    Try another payment method
Payment wasn’t possible with the selected method. Please use another method to continue.

Obviously the offer is tied to the credit card payment, so not sure what to do, support is impossible to contact.

  • Tried this today on March 1st and it still works.

    • -1

which card? does not work for my coles platinum mastercard

      • +2

        Latitude Mastercard

  • My PayPal 6 months expired and I just tried this and it still works on my 28d latitute mastercard lol

    • My PayPal expired today however tried to remove my 28d and re add it no Uber one :/

  • +1

Thanks OP! Initially I tried via iOS app, but received ‘something went wrong screen’. I opened your link on pc, logged in, added my 28 deg card, and it worked!

28deg offer will takeover after PayPal offer expires 26 March!!

  • need to use the MasterCard as the form of payment to get the Uber One benefits at all times ?

    • +1

Correct. If you get the benefit from Citi master then must use Citi master. If from PayPal then must use PayPal to get the one benefit. And so on

    • 6 months free thanks to Mastercard until Thursday, 3 October, 2024
