4 or 6 Months of Uber One Membership with an Eligible Westpac Mastercard @ Uber

1840

You can get 4 or 6 months of free Uber One Membership with an eligible Westpac Mastercard. Eligible for new & existing Uber One Members.

Seems valid for redemption till 29th Feb 2024. I am currently on 6 months free CommBank Mastercard deal, so haven't redeemed this for now as I am not sure if it overrides the previous deal.

Edit: Just checked and I was actually on PayPal deal. Was able to redeem additional 4 months which will start once the PayPal trial period is over

You're allowed to stack the Paypal and mastercard offer, but you won't be able to accept a Mastercard Uber offer if you've already got an existing one lined up waiting to be used after the Paypal one. You'll just get an error "Unfortunately, you can’t use this offer since you already have another offer pending."

If you are already on the Mastercard offer, I believe accepting this one puts this onto a 'pending state'. and it'll activate after your current offer has finished

    • Was there a PayPal offer as well? I seem to have missed it

Edit: actually am currently on the PayPal deal. Maybe its the Monday Blues :D

    • When does the paypal one end?

Thanks just joined for free 6 months.

Thanks, just renewed for free 6 months

Thanks works for me , extended for 4 months

I don't have a Mastercard since Bundll closed down. Anywhere give free ones?

    • +1

      Westpac.

    • This offer is for WESTPAC Mastercard holders…

  • +3

Thanks OP! Cancel immediately after signing up to turn off auto-renew.

    • Good tip

  • "I am currently on 6 months free CommBank Mastercard deal, so haven't redeemed this for now as I am not sure if it overrides the previous deal" I'm on that too and when i tried to use the 4 month one it says payment method isnt eligible for offer

    • On reading this I tried to check for myself and noticed that I am actually on the PayPal offer (not sure why I believed I was still on the CommBank one). But I was able to stack the PayPal with this one. Are you are selecting the new Westpac card after adding it and also redeeming using the respective card link as there are 2 different offers?

  • +1

I was able to stack commbank 6 months and westpac 4 months. Did both back in Oct when previous free months expired.

    • can i stack westpac with 28d mastercard ?

  • Thanks, just finished a free 6 months from another deal and now have another 4.

With how expensive fast food is getting, the free delivery and discounted service fee makes better options not seem so bad. Just have the risk of getting some not hot food…

  • i already have a pending offer so I cant get it

  • +4

Be wary that you need to use the MasterCard as the form of payment to get the Uber One benefits at all times, so you might need to buy gift cards for Uber Cash if you ever cancel that MasterCard or want to pay with a different card.

  • Does this membership only work in Australia? ie do the benefit still apply if you try to use uber rides or eats while overseas?

    • +2

No it doesn't work overseas. When I went to the United States & Canada last year I didn't receive any UberOne benefits.

  • +1

Says my Westpac debit Mastercard is ineligible?

    • Same
"Unfortunately, that payment method isn't eligible for this Uber One offer."

    • Same, looks like it's for credit cards only. It also says Mastercard and not Westpac anywhere but my Commbank CC didn't work either.

        • Lifesaver!

        • +1

Yello isn't offered to Commbank CC only, you have to have one of the below.

"To access CommBank Yello, you need to have one or more of the below CommBank transaction accounts:

          Smart Access
          Everyday Offset
Pensioner Security (card access only, not passbook access)
          Private Banking Account
Complete Access (no longer available for sale)"

          • +1

@Jewdas90: I receive the yello link via email from commbank before all the requirements and afaik there's no enforced check on the link to make sure that you have all of those transaction accounts.

The only check is on ubereats side to make sure the credit card you select is actually commbank.

      • +3

Not really, I redeemed using my Westpac Debit Card. Also, the above link / offer was picked up from this Westpac link

        • Thanks just stacked the debit Mastercard on top of the PayPal deal

        • Do I need to go back to using PayPal till it finishes next month? Or does it not matter ?

          • +1

@Capitalshark: If you have enough gift card credit it doesn't go to PayPal or Cards. But of not then you need to use the payment method which was used for the free trial.

    • yea same why is that

    • I had the same error but got it working through the Westpac link Avalanche provided above.
I think it might be because the OP link was for the 6 month offer for world MCs but the debit MC is only eligible for the 4 month offer.

      • The 4 month link is also provided in the description. But yeah I kept the main link to the 6 months one

  • there are subscription services for uber now?? when will it stop??

I had to use this link for my Citi card. The other links did not work.

  • Cheers, got 4 months through my Westpac debit card

  • Thanks op, new billing cycle started tomorrow and I just got ,6 months free

  • are we able to change the method of payment from mastercard to visa once we receive confirmation for the 4 or 6 month free membership?

    • +3

Whichever free trial you are currently on, that needs to be selected as your "primary" method of payment. So if you are on paypal free trial, you must have paypal selected.

By default, ubereats will always use gift cards first before any other payment method, so if you have enough gift cards to cover it, say… from prezzee buy $150 GC and get bonus $10 then ubereats will never charge your mastercard.

      • So if you're on the PayPal free trial with that payment method selected, and then your free trial rolls over to the Westpac one, does it automatically change the payment method to your Westpac card??

        • No, not automatic. You'll need set westpac card as the default to be able to checkout with Uber one benefits.

You'll get a message at checkout to change payment method to take advantage of Uber one.

  • Thanks OP.

  • Safe to instant cancel the membership? Or do we need to put a calendar note to cancel closer to the end date…

  • +1

Your 6 months trial thanks to PayPal until 17 Feb, 2024
Your 6 months trial thanks to Mastercard starts on 17 Feb, 2024.

    Noice!

    • So it's safe to activate now, rather than wait for the previous offer to expire?

      • +1

yes activate it now, it'll either stack or just not work at all. So no loss in trying.

  • +1

    Thanks Op!

Confirming this works on with my Westpac Debit Mastercard.

Fwiw, i am already on the 4 months foc uberone since late Sept that was expiring on 27 Jan 2024. This deal extended 4 months from 27 Jan onwards.

Confirming I didnt had Uberone benefits when travelling in Malaysia, Singapore and Japan back in Nov-Dec recently.

  • Looks like this offer is not limited to Westpac mastercard, I just searched my emails and found an email from Citi bank mastercard (now owned by Nab, the email was back in Sep 2023) offered 6 months Uber One membership free as well, I just clicked the "Unlock now" button in email, which still worked and navigated me to Uber Eats website, then I just needed to login Uber Eats account and click the "Claim offer" button to claim it.

    • I just tried stacking my Westpac and Citibank offer but didn't work 😞

    • @superozbargain, did u had Citi credit card or just the standard citi account. I have tried both links with standard citi account but not working.

    • what the email header, or body ? @superozbargain

  • Thanks OP! Was able to use debit card and get the 4 months offer. Was able to stack it on top of the current paypal 6 months offer

  • Tried to sign up with two Mastercard's, both ineligible, have given uo now, ubereats is a dangerous game.

  • Do I have to use my Mastercard to get the UberOne benefits… or do I only have to have it on the account?

    • yes - have to use your Mastercard for the benefits.

    • Yes, you do have to use the Mastercard to get UberOne benefits in the sense it needs to be selected when you are in checkout.

Uber gift cards will always have priority so if you have enough to cover the total amount, you can have the mastercard selected and at the same time pay the full amount with gift cards.

This card unavailable for this promo error :(

  • I keep getting a "something went wrong" error. Any ideas?

    • Do you already have a pending uber one promo with Mastercard that hasn't started yet?

      • I don't believe so. My last deal expired already and I've been waiting to apply this one.

    • Same here.

    • No idea if it's the same, but my Uber account knew about my old Westpac Mastercard from years ago (before they changed the numbering) and it prompted me to use that even after I added the new number. I had to delete the old one and wait a few minutes before this promo worked for me.

  • My offer has been extended to now expire on 31 March.
Not sure if it's the same for others?

    • +1

Definitely not expired, I just availed myself of it.

  • +1

This promo is still working, just activated it.

  • +1

Still working for me. Activated today. 6 months free thanks to Mastercard until Thursday, 19 September, 2024
