GOOLOO Jump Starters - GP2000 $79.99 | GP3000 $87.19 | GT3000 $111.99 - Delivered @ Gooloo eBay

890
CBTJAN24

EDIT: Gooloo increased price for the GP2000 taking it from $72 to $80.

All time low for the GP/GT3000 (I think). Was looking at Noco branded jump starters as the quality seems much better, but the price on these is just too good to pass up.

The differences:

  • GP2000 is rated at a peak 2000A, GP3000/GT3000 are rated at 3000A.
  • GP2000 has 12,000mAh, GP3000 16,000mAh, GT3000 22,800mAh (all at 3.7v). (EDIT: Official website says 16Ah for the GT3000, eBay listing says 22.8Ah so not sure)
  • GP2000 says can start 8L Gas / 6L Diesel, GP3000 (9L/7L), GT3000 (10L/8L).
  • GP2000/GP3000 have 2x USB-A (5V/2.1A and a 5V/3A, 9V/2A, 12V/1.5A), GT3000 has the same + USB C PD100W.
  • GP3000/GT3000 have a 15V/10A barrel jack output.
  • GP2000/GP3000 Charge with USB-C 5V/3A input (15W), GT3000 charges with USB-C PD100W.
  • GT3000 has the screen and stuff.
  • All 2 years warranty.

For most people the GP2000 will be more than sufficient. The 150W barrel jack on the others seems super handy though.

Had one of these a couple of years ago and the batteries swelled massively so that was the end of that

    • 2 year warranty?

    • Damn, that's unfortunate. For $72 I'll take a punt and hope for the best. Seems to be the most popular jump starters on here and others have reported positive experiences. Definitely doesn't come across as a quality brand though lol.

      • +3

Sounds like mickeyjuiceman had a negative terminal experience.

    • Did you charge to full every 3 months, it is annoying you have to do this but if you didn’t it might be the cause of the battery swell

      • Yeah, had a recurring diary entry to remind me

      • +1

can't regular charging cause the batteries to swell too?

        • +3

Not much point having a charger/jump starter if it's not kept charged, you'd think

          • +2

@mickeyjuiceman: agreed, however if they have a low discharge rate in storage you wouldn't need to charge the living daylights out of them if not being used

            • @bdl: It had its own charger, so if that's a poor design that's also on them, surely

              • +3

@mickeyjuiceman: Best not to charge lithium or LiPo4 to 100 % all the time without discharging for weeks on end.

It's hard with these jump starters, but ideally topping up charging to 3/4 or so every month or two.

    • +4

Which one? My GP2000 is about 3.5 years old, has been used a heap of times to start junkers and still works well.

      • -2

        junkers

We call them shit boxes in Sydney.
Everyone in Greenacre, Bankstown, Punchbowl has one as a daily run around.
On the weekend, we take out our AMGs, M3s, RR, Audi's etc its like a live car show.

Oh, and at school drop offs, there is over $3m+ total car value parked on the street

    • +4

I've got a GP2000, GP3000 and a GT4000 and started a heap of vehicles with them over the years. No issues, but like any electronics there's bound to be some failures, especially when kept in hot cars.

    • Similar. Mine just stopped charging after 2 years. Waste of money

    • -6

      This post is incredibly misleading!

Only the 4000A model @ $150 is claimed to be able to jump start a car.
The rest are just tyre inflators

Clearly OP did NOT read the descritions

      Personaly I have enorous doubt

I say get a REAL portable junmp starter from Repco or supercheaop auto

      https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/sca-sca-compact-jump-sta…

      https://www.repco.com.au/globes-batteries-electrical/battery…

      • +2

The rest are just tyre inflators

        Wrong

        • -1

          Ha ha ha

          Go ahead and buy one.
Comments here indicate very mixed results

I will stick with my Repco 1200A jump starter, thx

      • Should make an alt account called "HeWho(Doesn't)Know".

The stats in the description are pulled entirely from the listings and they're clearly jump starters. The GP2000 doesn't even have a barrel jack for use with a tyre inflator. You'd have a better argument claiming they're just power banks.

        • Ok Thats what they are.
The web site says that as well

  • +3

I've got a 1500a one almost 4yr ago. It's been living in the back of the car (which is permanently parked outside) and no swelling, not probs. still works (jumpstarted a neighbour 2wks ago).

I do keep it in the bag so it's not in direct sunlight.

    • How are these GooLoos vs NOCO ?

      • never tried Noco. But nearly 4yr of faithful service, I'd buy another Gooloo if I had too, as I expected them to last 2-3yrs. But then again I probably haven't charged it more then 25 times, so I guess I should get a few more years outta it.

  • +3

I got the 2000 when covid hit, had Volkswagen with factory alarm that drained the battery constantly — saved the day multiple times, I've used it two dozen times on my own and the neighbours vehicles without hiccup — very, very impressed. I've used it 100+ times over the past 4 years with 12v adapter for pumping up an air mattress for camping & unwanted family visitors lol .. no swelling, no issues, best Chinese junk I've bought in years.

  • +1

I had a gooloo die after 25 months.

Just got a rooboost, seems fine.

This would have been cheaper though.

  • What is the benefit of the EVA box?
The the other ones come with case?

  • +1

    Haven't needed jump starters in….. 15 years

    • +9

It’s when you need one and don’t have it that’s the problem

      • +1

        Just have jumper leads.

        • +2

Yeah just buy jumper leads and another car.

        • +2

apparently high heels & a boobtube works too, but I usually get in trouble for stretching them.

  • Would the GP2000 be enough to jump-start a 3.2L diesel Pajero? Is there any benefit in paying the extra $15 for the GP3000? Is it just for the extra 4000mAh capacity to charge phones etc?

    • I had a 2.8l diesel prado and used my GP4000 to jump is 4 times in a day and it indicated kept full charge still. My other 1500A trekpow started it fine but only on a fresh charge. Leaving it in the car a few months and it would struggle to start the car. I'd recommend the bigger 3000. The 4000 is overkill but I like it. It just sits in the boot anyway

    • If you didn't already get the GP2000, now that they have increased the price go for the GP3000. While the 4000mAh extra would be useful for other devices, it'll also give you more jump starts on a single charge assuming you're directly comparing the two with the same load.

The other difference is that it's has a peak output of 3000A versus 2000A, I think the GP2000 would have been fine but this gives you 50% extra head room for more power hungry cars if you need to help someone else out one day.

  • +1

    Cheers OP!
Grabbed a GT3000 - nice to be able to charge my laptop…

  • +2

Bought one recently and randomly about a week later it came in handy jump starting friends vehicle who left their lights on. Also took it travelling which made for a good power bank.

  • +1

No wireless charging, that's a shame.

  • Handy for camping road trips, if you might need a remote jumpstart. You can charge it up as you are driving from the accessories port and then use it as a big battery bank- some models have a torch too.

  • Cheap! I paid $99 in 2022 for the GP2000

  • +2

These are great. I've even used one to run my Engel fridge.

    • +1

Your Engel can handle 15V. I blew up a small 12 V 240V inverter before I realised it was 15V.

  • Might be a stupid question but are these kinds of devices required to have Regulatory Compliance Mark (RCM) on them for use in the states that participate in that?
Have a similar one but can’t find it on the device or packaging and wonder if this would be the same?

    • +1

They wouldn't be, since the RCM is only required if it's above 50 V AC / 120 V DC.

      • Thank you. Good to know.

  • +1

2 x GP4000's going well after 2 years. 1 X GP80 that says its fully charged but wont even start my bike. My NOCO GB70 is a beast but twice the price. If you're not a hardcore user the GP 4000 would be my choice. It will start anything, and even in a few years when it loses some battery capacity it should still start most things Plus if the battery is totally dead and it's a freezing morning the GP80 would struggle to start my daughter's corolla. So go bigger if you can.

  • I am getting $99,99 for GP2000 -$20 w code, final price $79.99?

    • Looks like they caught on and upped the price unfortunately, will update the post.
They actually increased the price of the GP2000 while I was writing the post up earlier, but I found a deal with a bunch of models in the same listing where the price had not yet been increased.

  • Hello everyone, can someone help me to choose a jumpstart for my SUV6 cylinder, because there are so many models, and so hard to choose from all the models.
If anyone used this before, could you please suggest me one to buy. Thanks in advance.

    • +2

GP2000 will be fine, if you keep it topped up every couple of months so that you can get more than one start before recharging.

The GT3000 is the top pick for features & performance vs price. It will be a better option if it's left in your car for a longer period of time with that size engine that you have, plus you get more charging capability for mobile devices or portable tyre inflator.

  • Mine was great but really didn't last nearly as long as I hoped it would.

  • Thanks, grabbed a GT3000.

I have the S10 battery charger from Gooloo as well.

Great products for the price, and the customer service has always been excellent whenever I have emailed them.

  • +2

Okay so my thoughts on the deal, I got the GP2000 when it was $71.99 to get in on that ATL action, for my use cases it should be sufficient. Now that it's $80 tho I would personally go for the GP3000. For $7.2 more you're getting higher max output and capacity, but more importantly, if this thing out lives it's warranty it will be functionally more useful for a longer time than the GP2000 (as they naturally degrade).

The GT3000 is a solid deal as well, same case as above, I'd probably go for this one if I didn't already have power banks and had a more legit car or went camping more often.

  • +1

It seems with any jump starters the more you use it the better is lasts…

  • GT3000 bought. Thanks

  • -1

    Bought GT3000.

  • Which ones have a ciggi plug (wanting to run a 12v fridge when car is off - only for occassional day trip use etc)

  • How are these compared to the Kogan Certa ones? similar prices from memory

    • From what I could find, the specs on these are better on paper than the certa ones and the prices are also considerably cheaper. Going with the fact there's also a lot of positive reviews of these from fellow ozbargainers I'd go with one of these over certa.

Also I'd rather deal with eBay than Kogan if something goes wrong.

  • I've had the GP2000 for years now and has been awesome, jumped everything from ride on mowers to LS's and big blocks. Have jumped my old hilux about 5 times now on the same charge.

  • Got GOOLOO 1500A Peak SuperSafe Car Jump Starter in Oct 2018, still jumping commonwhores.

MiL got GOOLOO Upgraded 2000A Peak SuperSafe Car Jump Starter which she didn't recharge so died within 12 months. The replacement one still kicking after 2 years.

Both kids driving now so got a new GOOLOO GP2000 late last year.

Every now and then I use it to charge the phones to cycle the batteries.

  • The only issue I had is when connecting to fridge(engle). I thought I could use it so the main car battery can have a rest and charge from solar and use it at night. But once the fridge cycled off the Gooloo went to sleep mode, so no more power to the frige.Right royal pain in the Ass..

Other than that I have started half of Australia's vehicles, done once to one of my own.

    mixo

    • If you’ve got any of those xiaomi usb lights floating around that used to be popular on here, they only draw ~0.07A on the lowest setting and are enough to keep the GP2000 awake.
Perhaps you could try plugging one of those in and seeing if it keeps the 15v socket active?

  • Bought 3000 one, my old ravpower swelled time to upgrade. Thanks op

  • I've had the GP2000 since May 2021, has worked well, no issues.
Originally bought it because my diesel VW Golf battery wasn't holding charge, needed a replacement, so whilst researching replacement batteries, bought GP2000.
I got about 6 battery boosts/starts at that time with a single charge. Also helped out a few motorists with flat batteries.

  • Seems some of these are now available at the same price with CBTFEB24 code

  • +1

    Can vouch for GT3000

Came charged at 75%, already jump started 4 cars for people on side road waiting for RA and im still at 71%
