$100/$150/$200 off Set of 4 Michelin Tyres (+ $200 off for Executive Members In Store Only) @ Costco Wholesale (Membership Req.)

700

It's the standard Michelin Promotion with,

$100 off for 17" & below + Agilis
$150 off for 18" & 19"
$200 off for 20"+

Ending on the 29/2

But if you're an Executive Member this month you get an additional $200 off on 4 tyres (In-store only) + 2% cashback earned on the tyre purchase.

Ending on 3/3

So you're total savings will be $300-400 depending on your size

Executive Membership is an additional $65 a year, So you have to spend at least $3,250 excluding GST a year to break even with the 2% cashback (the membership desk can check your spending the last 12 months to see if it's worth it) but even if you only upgrade for the tyres it'd be worth it in this case.

          • @pencilman: Thanks mate

Still seems like a very good deal

Any other benefits given when buying tyres at costco?

I think it was free rotation and nitrogen fill?

Also is it possible for them to run out of stock/ promotion?

Also will this offer occur again?

            • @ATTS: Correct, but tyre shop is very busy i could never do mine refilled/rotated in the 50k that i did in the last 3 years. I think you need to make an appointment for this stuff.

              • @megadeth: Oh right

So your saying because the tyre shop to busy you wernt able to use the refill or rotate without appointment?

                • @ATTS: I personally didn't bother but saying if interested you may need to align your availability to do the work with that of the tyre shop guys.

  • Nail is too close to side wall, was recommended to change rear 2 tyres. But have decided to change all 4 tyres just to avoid changing 2 more later. This seems good offer, but unable to check the price without having online account. Can someone please confirm the price for 235/60R18? So will decide if it is worth buying executive membership.

  • What would be the price of Pirelli PZero 255/30 ZR20 (92Y) R01 or equivalent Michelin?
Street price seems about $600 each for Pirelli and Michelin $620 and Hankook $459 equivalent
    Yumcha Winruns are $160 each

    • Michelin Pilot Sport 4S are $615 each, and then $200 off a set of four with executive + 2% cashback

  • 255/35 R21

Currently on continental sport contact 6 and tread getting quite low so due for a change. Has PZero previously. Both don’t seem to have very good tread life however have heard Michelin are a better tyre for performance and tread life.

Unfortunately I had to get continentals instead of Michelins due to the fact there was a 3 month wait at the time.

Would 4s or 5 be better? Does 5 have rim protection like 4s?

I think only 4s Costco stocks unless I’ve missed something and they have the 5.

Would this work out better or the $200 cash back at bobjane? Only for 5 though, 4s doesn’t get cashback

Confirming to get the offer, we can upgrade membership then roll back on renewal?

    • +2

I’m not sure about the rim protection, but I’m sure you can get PS5 through Costco, they don’t have everything on the website and they can always get items added from the buyers if they are available from Michelin.

Costco would have the same cash back as Bob Jane on the PS5, $200 off a set, except if you have executive you’d get a further $200 off, If you want 4S, Costco would be a better option as well since they have $200 off on them with executive that you wouldn’t other wise get at Bob Jane for example, on top you have the 2% cash back earned on the purchase itself.

As far as downgrading goes, it would be best to wait until you get issued your cash back, which is 10 days before the expiry, spending it and then you can see the membership to switch you to the regular membership before you renew.

I would suggest calling your local Costco tyre centre, ask them if they have the price for the PS5, if they don’t have them in the system, just give them your membership details and ask them to contact the Costco buyers to add it, and they will call you back once they have the price for them.

  • Can you get $200 of multiple sets, or is it 1 offer per card? I have 2 cars that need new tyres.

    • +1

Yes you can get multiple, there’s no limit.

Got my booking on 1st of March, anyone managed to get $200 refunded after going into store and upgrade to executive membership?

    • Highly unlikely they will just give you the $200 back since it comes from a coupon, you usually have to ask for a refund for the original purchase and then repurchase, you’ll need to go back in before the 29th since that’s when the other Michelin deal ends.

      • Ah that make sense, thank you!!
What are the odds for me to pop into the store and have them change the tyres for me on the spot.

        • I don't understand what you mean, you said you have a booking, if you ordered online that's not the guaranteed booking date until they call to confirm, when they do then technically you could drop in the store to get them fitted if they have time but usually they do not.

      • Or can I pay for them with the Michelin offer and $200 off from executive members and book a slot in the coming weeks

        • That sounds very reasonable. You already have a booking for 1st Mar. If still suits just ask to pay for the job before end Feb and then get tyres done on the 1st as planned.
          Win win. I think.

Make sure though that your executive membership is activated.

  • Ended up getting 4 x Primacy 4 205x55R16 91W for $495.96 (not to mention the 2% annual reward). Tyres are manufactured 4923.

what a bargain - you earned your Ozb badge on this one

  • Got a set of 4 Michelins for under $500 - good deal and cheaper than the other tyre places by a fair margin.

Nearly fell off my chair when the tech got a torque wrench out to tighten the wheel nuts, never seen that at another tyre shop, usually they just hammer them on with a rattle gun. He even went round a second time to double check.

    • Isnt torque rench better as can specify nm of torque to be applied

      • Yes, that's my point, they use a torque wrench to measure in Newton-metres instead of measuring in ugga duggas like other tyre places.

  • Primacy SUV+ or Pilot sport 4 SUV for AWD outback; primacy is 100H whereas Pilot sport is 100 v (same as OEM). Anyone with experience please

    • +1

H rating is max speed of 210km/h and V is 240km/h, if you’re not planning to take the car on the autobahn or a racetrack, I’d recommend the Primacy SUV+ tyres, they will last longer and be more comfortable/quiet for your car.

      • Important to check what speed rating is specified on the vehicle's tyre placard (usually found in drivers door jamb or fuel filler flap). Fitting lower speed rated tyres than manufacturer's specification can void insurance cover.

        • It may vary by state but in Victoria for roadworthiness it only needs to meet 180km/h or the the vehicle's top speed, whichever is higher, so if it meets that I don’t know how insurance could void insurance cover on a roadworthy vehicle just due to tyre placard speed rating, but I could be wrong!

    • As @turbochris posted above, you need to check the exact rating on the sticker on the vehicle - you can exceed the load and speed ratings, but you can't go under either.
