Time to change smoke alarm batteries.

Might be able to stack with "Save 5% when you buy $40 of select items" but I didn't try.

Edit: per Erd's comment, pricematching the good guys incase you had store credit to burn

  • Haven’t purchased these in decades. Is this a good price?

Better than your reject shop variants?

I'd like to know this too. At least Camel3x says lowest ever for this brand, especially with S&S.

Inb4 it’s for your firealarm, doesn’t matter the cost, it’s your life…. Blah blah blah

    • Thought about this too. Kmart has 3pk 9v batteries for $6, but I spent the extra for peace of mind

I have always wondered whether to just go for the cheaper batteries anyway as I change my smoke detector batteries every year - i think we are meant to anyway.

    • The smoke detectors I bought give a low voltage warning (and iirc last 2-3 years). Changing every year out of paranoia is just paranoia.

      • I don't doubt that for sure!

It has been drummed in to change batteries on smoke detectors regularly… i.e. if we do that - say every 2 years, just get the cheapest of the cheapest then?

I am a bit cynical of the smoke detector thing- I've come back to Oz from a long stint overseas and the amount of regulation here really does get me thinking that the people who rant on about the Nanny State do have a point.

My approach for smoke alarms is 'get decent batteries and rely on the built in voltage monitoring', but I have also done occasional tests using smoke just out of curiosity. iirc there's also a self-test button on detectors? Could be wrong on this.

I only put crappy quality batteries into devices that I don't care about, like cheap LED clocks or kids toys. Anything else is Energiser or rechargeable.

  • Bought Spares for smoke detectors .
    Cheers

  • Does anyone know what the date printed on the bottom of these batteries indicate. Is it the manufactured date or the expiry/best before date. Cheers!
