this is probably a better value, says OOS for the 260GB one, but I just checked that is's actually in stock.

    • It’s your preference whether to go with Telstra or Mobile Virtual Network

      • Boost is the only one that has access to the full Telstra network.

I can use my boost id to login to Telstra. The verification codes used to come from Telstra.

I'm guessing it's pretty much Telstra.

      • Agreed.

        Any company over Telstra.

Esim is what stopping me to switch to boost, but I'm not sure what's stopping boost to switch on esim for their network

      • +1

I would say it's got something to do with their network agreement with Telstra. If boost had esim why would anyone stay with telstra paying a premium?

        • +4

Telstra points, telstra movie tickets, extra perks, on shore call centre and finally telstra logo 😁

      • +1

Esim is available on boost now

        • Thank you, seen it and can't wait to jump

  • Can post plan Telstra move to pre paid Telstra?

    • Should be doable, but please check with Telstra.

    • Yes, I migrated from post paid to prepaid with out issue

  • +3

Any of these Telstra or Boost prepaids do plan sharing with the watch ?

    • nope. Requires a postpaid plan before paying extra to add a smart watch on.

    • +1

      Nah man. Sucks.

FWIW I have a Telstra prepaid eSIM form this deal and a boost physical SIM card concurrently in my iPhone 15 pro.

In areas with a ‘signal shadow’, the Telstra service consistently has more bars of service than the boost sim.

Regarding the speed of downloads; both boost and Telstra sims are above my 100/40 home nbn plan.

The Telstra sim pulls speeds of above 150mb/s despite being advertised as having at 150mb/s cap

    • Interesting, I had the assumption that Boost was on the equivalent network.

      • Same, Boost was positioned as having the same network/coverage, unlike all the other Telstra MVN providers.

      • +2

Boost is on same network but they say if the tower is congested they will prioritise Telstra customers over Boost. Usually not an issue unless it's NYE, a music festival or some other place where there is more people than usual at the same location all using their phones at the same time

    • That’s because Boost is running on MVN
If you’re in CBD region, then go for boost
But if you travel a lot and go to lot of regional areas, then stick to Telstra

      • This was in merewether Newcastle at the ocean baths. There’s a hill to the west blocking line of sight to the cell towers. This is where the difference is most pronounced.

When checking in different typical locations, the bars are usually the same. Occasionally, Telstra one bar more than boost but mostly the same. No difference in call quality from what I can discern.

  • Ohhh this is getting close to a boost yearly sim…

  • +1

Can I switch from boost to Telstra or too much hassle considering it is same network. Thanks

    • I did. I went in store and they sorted it there.

  • +1

Went to 1 officeworks and was refused price beat, due to the deal requiring a code.

Called another officeworks and same response.

    • +1

Yep, same experience for me, ahh well, $14 difference and supporting a smaller business, I just hope it arrives before my next plan payment is due.

  • This won’t work on a cellular Apple Watch will it?

  • Will it work if I port out from Telstra (say to Aldi) then activate this retaining the same number throughout?

  • I think it is $280 on Telstra website. Officeworks can Price Match it and on bing, there is a $30 cashback for Officeworks Telstra Sim.

Please check in your browser if $30 cashback deal is coming from bing for officeworks

  • +1

YMMV with OW price matching. Their website says that price matching actually excludes coupon prices.

  • +2

My local Officeworks honoured it - they originally said that the typed code excludes the offer, but they also said it's clearly a technicality since it's available to everyone published right there in the description.

    • Hey mate it might help if you could share the officeworks receipt, I've had no luck

      • -1

Mate pay the $13 difference and buy it from this mob.
I know it is ozbargain but come on now. Is it really worth more embarrassment? Having a receipt isn’t necessarily going to work at your local store.

        • +1

          Who is embarrassed?

          • +2

@AyTrain: Getting denied to save $13 then going back with someone else’s receipt only to be denied again.. would be pretty embarrassing

            • +1

@Ridiculous Panda: Officeworks price matched! There wasn't even any embarrassment! I think the staff member was an ozbarginer. .

  • Out of stock

    • Out of stock ???

      Strange I just went & purchased one…

    • Back in stock if you still want one.

  • Just a few days late. Got the boost delivered yesterday from the previous 170gb deal. Would’ve preferred this for the eSIM. Oh well!

    • Isn't this $100 roughly more?

      • More like $70. Paid $187 from memory.

  • OOS

    • I just purchased one… It did say 2 left

    • Back in stock if you still want one

  • +1

This is back in stock, 35 available at time of writing.

  • +1

Seems like they’ve been adding stocks. Back to 43 available rn. Got one thanks OP!

  • Yep, just got one also

  • +2

Back in stock and managed to get officeworks to price beat

    • Nice! are you able to share OW receipt? Feel free to DM if preferred, TIA!

  • -1

Perth CBD branch did not want to pricebeat. Some BS about returns policies doesnt match so offer product is different.

  • Does this give you access to Telstra deals?

  • Quick Q, how does one go about adding extra data to one of these plans should i run out?

  • Possibly a silly question, but do you count as a new customer for Telstra prepaid if you are on a Telstra plan?

  • What's the success of using this to recharge my current prepaid Or do I need to port out then in?

    • following this. hoping someone would share some experience on recharges/renew after the 1st initial charge/activation.

      • +1

        I just went with boost.
No issues going from Telstra to boost.

Will go Telstra again on next recharge
