Tasting note from the brewery:
G.O.A.T. was first brewed as a small batch, specifically for the 2018 AIBA Awards. Brewed with high expectations & named accordingly, the beer took out a Gold Medal and became a favourite among Black Hops drinkers. This juice bomb features the signature opaque appearance of the style, paired with an explosion of tropical fruit flavours thanks to the generous late addition of Mosaic, Amarillo and El Dorado hops.

Good deals this week. I'd go for the Super Hornet personally.

    • Glad to hear @Poimandres. We like that too!

    • I used to get a monthly beer sub from CC as well as make fairly regular purchases and I found them great, so maybe something has changed since.
I had one issue with packaging which I posted about on a craft beer facebook group - one of the CC team reached out to me and sent me a replacement straight away, so my experience has really only been positive.

        • Definitely Craft Cartel. I've spent a lot of money with both (advent calendars with BC, subscriptions with CC) and no issues with either.

          • @beefsandwich: Thanks for your support @beefsandwich!

@Craft Cartel Liquor: Looks like you're picking and choosing your replies here Rep. Watchnerd asked you about previous failings and complaints from OzB members and you choose to ignore them? Not cool.

              • @Nalar: Thanks @Naiar - Sorry if we've missed something. As mentioned, while we've had a few issues pre Christmas, all issues can be escalated if they are still outstanding to [email protected]

                Cheers

        • We saw that article too @Nalar. Just realised this may be the message you were referring to us not commenting on (below). It gets thrown about from time to time. We've even see it reposted by some competitors staff members, perish the thought. We have thick skins though and have forged a wonderful, loyal customer base for which we are grateful.

          Cheers

I can vouch for the above, almost always late, Never any communication, Never any apology. Ive learnt my lesson and will not support this company.

        Same here, awful company.

      • Sorry you've had a poor experience @krisrey. We'll endaevour to make things right. Please email [email protected] for an escalated issue management

    • I had the same experience for the Estrella deal, but to their credit they offered a full refund.

    • Hi @watchnerd3 - All the Black Hops skus are actually in the warehouse already. A number of others are as per expected date.

We apologise if you had a poor experience pre Xmas.

      • I don't think this is the case, my shipment hasn't been shipped yet and the date it was meant to be was the 22nd, maybe I should have listened to the bad comments here.

Apparently there is a warehouse relocation and the only response is hopefully its sent out early this week which just isn't good.

My experience with this beer is drink fresh and look at the brew date not the “best before”

    • Can you provide us with your preferred time period limit for context?

    • The two dates are almost always linked (BB 12 months after brew date). Brew date doesn't provide any additional information really.

      • Brew/packaged date is much better info than best before date. Some brewers, like Pirate Life, give both, and their BB date is nine months after the brew date.
Obviously the fresher the better with lagers and hop driven ales.

    • There were some cases a few years ago which were over the 1 year from BB year at local Dan Murpies - tasted fine, purchased 4 and took a few months to get through - I think with this beer its not as bubbly so can defiently get away with drinking it close or past its BB.

I say this as this beer used to be my goto back when they had cashback deals @ FC and it wasn't $90 a case.

    HODL until the 28th March

    Black Hops beers are great

$70 for 2/3 case of short dated beer?

    • Yep, people seem to forget this equates to $90-100 a real case.

      • +3

If you are interested in craft beer, the vast majority are 16 cans these days. Just accept and adjust your price accordingly.

Super Hornet is 16 cans of 8.7%… that compares pretty favourably vs most 24 can cases for the price.

  • Would Dan Murphy's price-match this one for fresher brews?

I'd be looking at this company's previous efforts before handing over any money…

The rep refuses to engage with OzB users or refute the large number of claims of poor customer service.

Spend the extra $20 and get them fresh at FCL…25% off isn't enough for a product that's no longer fresh, especially not a hazy. Shit deal & shit customer service by all accounts.

    • Sorry we've upset you @The Judge. If you had a specific issue you would like escalated, please email [email protected]

Totally get it if you'd like to spend the extra $20 from another retailer. A word to the wise, unless the BB are specified, they may be from the same batch.

      Happy drinking

You haven't upset me, but other users need to be aware of issues others have experienced and your recent refusal to engage with members. Ozbargain isn't a dumping ground for stock you couldn't sell, especially not at such a paltry discount given you're trying to offload a premium product that is no longer in saleable condition.

        • Thanks @The Judge. We hear you.

The product is still drinking perfectly, so not sure how it wouldn't be saleable. We can only hope the other few hundred people who have taken up this deal don't feel the same way!

          Happy drinking.

No one is forcing you or anyone else to buy it. There is full disclosure, I'm sure people can make up their own mind.

  • Always had quick responses in relation to correspondence with this company. No issues here.

    • Thanks @shbshb. While we do occasionally have issues we like to think most issues are resolved in a timely manner.

  • Great beer. I don't condone 16 pack slabs out of principle though.

    • We hear you @spazattack91. If we had our way they would be outlawed!

  • +1

Only respond to issues when it suits them.
Had a promo email saying complete a survey for a free voucher to sent immediately. Complete survey, nothing comes through. Follow-up several times and get ignored.
Have made several purchases over the years, so quite annoying

    • Sounds like a poor experience @MBT. Can't think of a promo we have done with a survey, but if you have an issue you'd like to escalate, feel free to email [email protected]

      Cheers
