Dammit, I decided it was too hot to go out to buy lunch so I just made a toastie and now I see this :(

Now I can only have RR delivered 6 days in a row instead of 7.

  • no KFC/dominos/pizza huts nearby, this is my favourite recurring food-related deal.

Damn there's no delivery fee either, $10 for a box delivered is kinda nutty tbh.

Our local place is $25min order for delivery so not quite as good as it sounds!

      • +4

$25min order is everywhere as far as I can tell, but apart from that it's "free" delivery too. 3 boxes = delivered for $30 pretty good deal imo.

Picklebird for the win. Ordered 3 and used the red royalty reward dollars for $26 with delivery.

  • Does anyone know why they do delivery only for some of these? I'd be willing to go pick up in store which I imagine would save them money.

    • My experience = So when they include only 3 chips in the order and just wing pieces :-) you're not there to argue.

What is the $10 box meal?

    • It shows in the link there’s like 9 or something to choose from

      • -1

        It doesn't show for me

        • It would if you pick delivery and put your addy in.

  • Never had RR delivered, high hopes!

    • It's probably my go to, the one near me is like 10 min drive away and always comes quickly.
I should note that I get it delivered because we have one car and I wfh.

      • It was better than Uber. Then again it’s raining so the driver couldn’t just leave it outside as there is no dry spot lol Great day to be an indoor cat.

        • Yeah they use Doordash which is better in my experience.
My cat is loving me working from home today!

          • @theguyrules: I think you are forgetting the cat tax 😈

            • @frugalftw: My profile pic! Although thats a very old pic of a cat that has since passed away.
Is this the opposite of cat tax? :(

@theguyrules: Ok, I’ll give you a pass this time 😝 She’s got that ‘Sup? Whacha up to?’ look 🥰 Must be a borderline annoying girl when she was around. Rip.

              • @theguyrules: Damn, sorry to hear that. I’m sure they lived a good life.

      • No need to justify yourself.

  • Are they still doing unlimited free drinks? (actually limited to about 39)

My local store doesn’t even have online ordering available. Store has only been there for a few years and I never see anyone there.
    Anyone else have this issue?

  • That sweet and sour. My god I’m weak.

  • I'm going to stay strong because I just started a diet… Good deal though, came up a couple times last year.

  • The list of Red Rooster's "participating stores" sucks. Always none in my area.

    • Where is the list? I thought they would only exclude airports and whatnot.

      • -1

Eastern and south eastern suburbs of melbourne all excluded

  • Only time I ever have RR is when they offer these. Actually good value for money when it includes delivery as well, their usual delivery prices (compared to instore which are still crazy) are ridiculous.

Ordered this again because the rain didn’t stop for an entire day, boy it was a disaster. Food was cold, drink was unbagged because apparently it broke down. The delivery was dong by two very young men together(?!), without using a thermal bag and couldn’t find the address.

Red rooster told me to reject the delivery if it happens again and in the mean time, passing on the feedback to the delivery company. I didn’t know I can reject the delivery, guess I would pretend to not be hungry and ready to eat anything and send them away next time. Thought I’d share in case anyone else is in the same boat, since there’s no way of interacting with the delivery driver in the red rooster app.

They shouldn’t have got their dongs out, but this Ozbargain and it would have been free

      • Hahaha got autocorrected. They must be using two separate accounts and aggregating orders.

    • Wish I heeded your warning! Mine arrived the same way and unlike ordering directly from food delivery services, there was no chat /contact option to leave a message

      • We live and learn. The man at RR said if the delivery was rejected, the delivery person/company would have to pay for the food twice to sort it out. That’s the only form of negative reinforcement that a customer can provide.

        • It's a bit awkward rejecting a delivery in my opinion lol. Especially when it's really RR's fault for filling thin ass paper bags to the brim that have no handles and falls apart when it comes into contact with any moisture.

          • @ChillBro: I’m not excusing them, but it does take a while for the paper bag to disintegrate, and he did make me think if it’s in a thermal bag, it would be less like to do so. But for the love of god, I hope no sane delivery person would put cold drinks in the same bag as the hot food lol In any case, the point stands if the food did not come out of a thermal bag or a paper bag, you can reject it because it’s RR policy. That should make it a lot less awkward for you, ‘Sorry mate, just following store policy because I don’t know if anything has happened to the drink, even if it’s sealed. And if it took so long it broke down, please replace the food. This is from RR, thanks for your understanding.’

            • @frugalftw:

take a while for the paper bag to disintegrate

Nah those shitty RR paper bags rip like it's nothing. I know because I ordered one last week and everything almost fell out when I tried to hold it at the top. Putting them in a thermal bag is a good idea. Though I also think the RR idiots put 2 of the 3 food boxes in one paper bag then the last food box in another bag along with 3 cans so that's going to get cold regardless.

I know that's what they said but it'd still feel weird telling that to the delivery guy who now has my name, number and address lol

              • @ChillBro: lol you must be one of those people who can’t get out of Foxtel because the reps are really persist. I know how it feels, but if the delivery person has any conscious they would know they are in the wrong and understand the rejection was part of the risk they took, when they decided to take on multiple orders simultaneously. People without any conscious would not be doing a delivery gig, not for food anyway ;) You are quite safe to reject it and bring the awareness to them; it is you doing a favour. Of course if you aren’t comfortable, do it in the form of a complaint afterwords, that still helps 🥰 and benefits the community of consumers, ozb or not. Hope your next one is good. I’ve elected to do pick ups for the Uber promo that is one right now.
