Yeah we run bonus loyalty offers from time to time which we only send to prior customers who are subscribed to the newsletter. This one we ran earlier this year for a very limited period of time.

My first order just arrived yesterday. Sour cola pre workout flavour is fire.

    • Glad you like it @chasingstoke and thanks for ordering with us!

      Jay

  • How long does this stuff last? I have several bags, some opened, which have been in my cupboard for months, maybe even over a year? Should I toss it all?

    • +1

a year old one would be tossed. I would check it out first, if it dissolves and tastes fine would use it. :)

    • +1

In my experience, really depends on how it was stored (ie, whether it was kept in a cool spot). But if unopened, should be good to use for at least a few months after the best-by date.

    • +1

@Levathian if it's kept cool and dry, it should be good until BB date, but smell/taste will be most telling. Usually the flavour will start to be affected after a long period.

  • Green tea matcha ice cream flavour was delicious — thanks OP.

If I can give some feedback — I love your WPI but don't use it as much when I'm having a lot of shakes (ie bulking) because the xantham gum is a bit rough on the stomach in higher volumes. If you ever had an interest, just one option (maybe vanilla or chocolate) without the xantham gum, would be an amazing product for people who avoid that ingredient. I appreciate the xantham is what gives your shakes that smooth texture, though.

    • +1

Thanks for the feedback on this @bangiebargie I'll pass this along to our team.

We did originally omit xanthan gum, but then added this as an ingredient to improve the overall texture and mouth feel. One concern is obviously how this affects anyone who is more sensitive to this ingredient, as you've identified.

We will be reviewing this. Thanks!

      Jay

      • Hi Jay,
What is your % of the WPI blend and does it contain any BCAAs like other brands do? I don't seem to find any details on the product page.

        Thanks.

        • +1

@sol3x if you go onto the "Nutritional Info" tab on the product page, you can see the percentage for each flavour. Unflavoured is 90%, whereas most flavours fall within 80-something percent. Aussie Choc Malt is the lowest and below 70% because we add actual malt into this which drops the protein % down.

Also no, we don' add any amino acids into this product, all the protein comes from the WPI protein, not from additional added amino acids.

          I hope this helps!

          Jay

          • @aminozcomau: Hi Jay,

Just out of curiosity, why doesn't Amino Z create a WPI product that has BCAAs added, just like other brands on the market do? It'd be convenient for consumers. Thanks.

            • +1

@sol3x: Thanks for the suggestion @sol3x.

We have considered this, but it really comes down to our capacity constraints right now. We are barely keeping up with the production of our WPI and to move into a new product line, it would require more people, capital investment into inventory, machinery, space etc.

This certainly isn't a bad idea and it is something we will consider. However for now, we're trying to focus on getting on top of our current range before spreading ourselves too thin.

    @aminozcomau
I ask every time but where Choc Peanut Butter?
Please bring it back I'm having withdrawals :P

    • +2

@navyskies this one will be a little while off I'm afraid. We do have it on the books and we are still in the process of updating a formulation.

However in the short-mid term, we have decided not to release it due to the presence of peanut as an allergen. Current we do not process peanuts at all within our facility and we will be looking to set up a dedicated peanut area so it is completely isolated. But due to budget constraints of being a small business, this will be a little while off and certainly not in the next few months.

I too cannot wait for this one to return!

      Jay

      • No problems at all and I appreciate the update :)
As soon as it's available im buying 4/5kgs worth ahaha.

        TY

        • My pleasure, and thanks in advance :) We will have something launching relatively soon.

          Jay

  • Hi Jay, where do you source your protein from? Is it from Australia?

    • +1

Our protein is sourced from USA presently. I am unaware of any instantised WPI that is produced in Australia.

      Jay

      • Do you have any produced in NZ. I am wary of US sourced products (not grass-fed, hormones' loaded)

        • +1

@mhc no, we do not have any NZ WPI protein currently. I can however confirm from our manufacturer that these are added-hormone-free cows and are partially grass fed (it is seasonal and is affected by the winter).

          Thanks for asking.

          Jay

  • +1

Hi Jay, any chance we can get a pouches without the scoops? I've got so many from supporting you that I'm starting to throw the scoops away — which seem like a waste. Especially when they come in small-ish bags.

    • +2

@dottydotdot this is some feedback we have had in the past and we are still trying to figure out how to do this efficiently. Currently we don't have the capacity to create two separate lines (eg. one with scoops and one without), and many of our customers expect a scoop in the product, so we didn't want to eliminate it altogether.

We are exploring options about adding them separately, but this is still a bit of a project to navigate through, and it also will create extra packaging to put the scoops into (so they are food safe - as we would not want our warehouse team handling the scoops unprotected).

This is on our to-do list, particularly because of the potential for waste reduction and we are looking into this. It's just that we do not yet have any viable solution in place I'm afraid. Should you have any feedback or ideas, please do share.

      Jay

  • Will you have samplers of the iced chai latte? I'm keen to try it!

    • +1

      Thanks for asking @ninjalot

Not yet, but we will soon. We recently increased our sample range to 7 of our flavours, and we will be further expanding this in the coming months.

      Jay

  • @aminozcomau Any change you switching protein provider back to the old ones (pre - the batch that got bad due to high warehouse heat) ones two years ago? Somehow stomach not tolerating these new batches of unflavored protein and hard to mix as well. Had to switch brands unfortunately.

    • @John Doh I'll have to speak with our team to see what raw material brand this was, but to be transparent, it is unlikely. Back then we were scrambling and purchasing practically any protein we could get our hands on that met our specs, due to a worldwide shortage. Within a 6 month period I believe we went through 4-5 brands of protein which created a horrible degree of inconsistency with our products.

I am not 100% sure which brand this was, but should we be making changes I will be able to let you know.

Your feedback is noted, I will share this with the team as we are always trying to improve the product.

      Jay

      • Thanks Jay, I understand you are trying to get the best prices to the masses and everyone seem to be tolerating and enjoying it well, just my bad luck I guess. :)

        • Sorry @John Doh :( Yeah it is ultimately trying to do all of the above. But I will speak to the team about this.

By the way, you don't happen to have a batch number, or possibly the order number related to the product you did like, do you? This would make it easier to track down (but if it was that long ago, I know that's a long shot!)

          Jay

          • @aminozcomau: batch number with expiry dates. I sent these back for replacements due to rancid sunflower lecithin smell. But these were top notch, mixed much better, i tolerated them much better.

Totally off topic, any chance you would have DIAAS score like this from your source for the current ones? - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/831026

            • @John Doh: Thanks @John Doh, I'll revert back to you on this.

To confirm, these batches you've provided - are they the ones affected by the heat and we replaced them with a better product that you liked? Please let me know if I've misunderstood.

With DIAAS, I did reach out to our manufacturer and they did not have anything testing their WPI specifically, so I don't have this information available I'm afraid.

              Jay

              • @aminozcomau: No, the ones that went bad and the batches before them were good. The replacements ones and the subsequents i tried werent as good for my stomach ;) I will PM you for more info.

                • @John Doh: Great, thanks @John Doh. Ok we'll look into this.

                  Jay

  • I remember as a kid I used to eat this stuff while training relatively high level. Then I found out whey is basically where you take the left over by product from manufacturing cheese, they dry it and sell you this stuff we buy.

$40 kg I'd rather buy a kg of scotch fillet!

    • You'd get somewhere between 3-4 times the amount of protein in a bag of whey than you would from the kg of scotch fillet.

    • There's heaps of nutrition (mostly very bioavailable protein) in whey. That's why they sell it rather than discard it, and why everyone from bodybuilders to the CSIRO promote it for health and fitness.

  • @aminozcomau got any 2kg ON whey - MILK TEA flavour!?!?

    • +1

Hi @robbbyrob we don't yet. But this is a flavour that has been suggested for us that we are looking into. We don't have a formulation yet as it has proven to be a difficult one to flavour and so I cannot guarantee any timeline for a release. Some flavours can take a very long time to develop (months, sometimes more than a year). Sorry :(

      Jay

      • Thanks for the reply, ordered strawberry and, 10min later, matcha from the comments/reviews above.

Appreciate you and the lovely messages from Vanessa

        • +1

Thanks so much for the order @robbbyrob! I hope you enjoy the product and I'll pass this along to Vanessa too.

          Jay

  • I just bought a vanilla. Any chance I can get a sample of melon? My order # is 109904750

    • Thanks for the order @jaypee06!

I'm afraid we don't have any samples in the melon flavour available presently. We are working on expanding our sample range due to a very high number of requests (currently we only have 7 of the flavours available).

I know it's not ideal, but until we have the samples available, if in the future you do wish to order the Melon flavour and you receive it and don't like it, just reach out to us and we will happily replace it at our cost.

      Jay

      • Nice I'll take you up on that offer :D

    • +1

If you're familiar with the Korean Melona ice cream bars, they taste like a less sweet version of that

  • Bit off topic but any pre work out deals comings?

    • +1

      Thanks for asking @modgod

The next deal will unlikely be focussed specifically on our pre-workout range, but will likely include some form of discount should you choose to purchase any of our Pre-Workout's.

The details are still being finalised so I apologise for the vagueness.

We may do one focussed on our range again this year, but we do not have any definite plans as of yet.

      Jay

  • First time trying this brand, ordered Melon.

Any chance I can get samples of other flavours? order #109905131

    Thanks OP & Jay

    • Hi @lothus777 thank you for the order! I'll ask the team to see what they can do. We are very limited on samples right now so I'm afraid I cannot promise anything, but I really appreciate you giving our brand a go.

      Jay

      • Hi Jay,

I just tried your matcha ice cream flavour and absolutely loved it. Though it's on the sweeter side. Any recommendations on how I can make it less sweet? TIA

I'm even willing to pay more for an unsweetened version…(i.e. no sweetener (Thaumatin) added to the matcha flavour.

        • +1

Use more water/milk to reduce the concentration?

        • +1

Hi @sol3x thanks for the feedback. I would echo what @KSMLJ has said, try diluting a little more in more liquid to suit your personal taste.

I'll pass the feedback along on this one. Currently we don't have less/no sweetness versions available, but this is something worth discussing internally.

          Jay

  • Hi @aminozcomau, may I know how far away this upcoming might be?
I need to buy some protein asap.

Also if you or someone else can recommend me what I should get. I’m on skinny side and started going to gym and looking to gain some weight. What do I look for? High carb? I’m new to this.

    • +1

@bhunter101 not very far away. We still cannot 100% confirm the launch date, but if you can hold out a little bit, perhaps up to a couple of weeks, we are planning on launching a big one.

If you need anything to tie you over, I'd suggest just doing a smaller purchase in the meantime if you wish to jump on the bigger deal.

If you're going into the gym and trying to gain weight, I would be looking toward a WPI protein powder for after your workout and a micronised creatine monohydrate.

Nutrition is very important too, so you will need to increase your caloric intake from food in order to ensure you do obtain an energy surplus in your diet.

Thanks for asking and for your interest in our range too!

      Jay

    • @bhunter101 just a follow up here, I can now confirm that we will be releasing a new major WPI and creatine deal on Monday morning (26 Feb). Sorry I could not confirm this earlier, I needed to 100% confirm that we could commit to this as there is a lot of preparation involved given how much support we receive (stock levels, staffing, warehouse setup etc). Thanks again for your interest!

      Jay

      • Thanks @aminozcomau (Jay) I ended up buying ON as I had no protein and wasn’t sure when this was going to start plus include delivery so ended up buying from Amazon for next day delivery. But I’ll probs stock up on your WPI as well.
Thank you very much for letting me know.

        • You're welcome!

          Jay

  • -1

@AminoZ Do you have any bulk protein deals coming soon?

    • @695 yes, I can now confirm that we will be releasing a major WPI and creatine deal on Monday morning (Feb 26). Thanks for your interest!

      Jay

  • @AminoZ any deal on Casein at all?

    • @DraggyX you will get a fair discount with the upcoming deal on Casein and free shipping. It's launching on Monday morning on OzBargain.

      Jay

      • Thanks, will hold the order until monday to see if it's 30 or less per kg. Cheers

  • @aminozcomau do you have any product similar to this one ? Organic plant based protein - https://amzn.asia/d/g1hnSmM
