  • Perfect timing to go with the $140 refurbed Switch deal!

    • $140 refurb switch? link?

      • This deal combined with ebay snsmd code

        • Looks like SNSMD is a targetted code :(

  • Thanks OP - may use this in my camera for travels and easy photo transfer to phone.

  • Are these good for 4K dash camera.

    • +3

      Will it work? Yes.

Does Samsung warrant it for dash camera use? No.

For rolling camera use you are meant to use the cards with "Endurance" in their name. This is also true of other brands, the industry has settled on using the word "Endurance" in the name to indicate that a card can be used for dash or security cameras

Yea na perfect. Ordered an endurance 128Gb for $36.
Missed out on the Christmas 256 Gb deal.
        Thanks mate.

You can get a 256gb for $34.50 from amazon
SanDisk High Endurance microSDXC Card, 256 GB, SDSQQNR-256G-GN6IA https://amzn.asia/d/7GLZqD7

@turk182: I've had 2 SanDisk micro SD cards fail for dash cams. They're still operational in normal use but cannot be written to anymore using dash cams (presumably because of the constantly high bit rate). The Samsung cards last longer.

  • nice, cheaper than black friday deal from last year

Samsung Pro Plus Read/Write Up to 180MB/s/130MB/s 256GB Micro SDXC Memory Card with Adapter

    • That's the 256 gb one. This is 512gb.

      • Read and write speeds are lower and not guaranteed to sustain the advertised transfer rates that the pro plus has listed.
Real world tests probably need to be used to verify this. However, on paper the pro plus is the better performer.

  • I seem to recall the white ones being ~39.xx at last year's Black Friday sale.

Been watching the prices since then and this has been the best price since then for an equivalent item.

Been using these in a new a7r. Took about 800 pics, ended up with ~50GB used. Will get 6 as this is a good saving.

  • damn free delivery got jacked from $49 to $59

    • Jeff Bezos is going poor so had to jack up the free delivery.

      • +1

also making people pay extra to go ad free for prime video..

  • I undertand that its good to get the "endurance" versions for dash cams and security cams.
however, what are the thoughts on this for action cams?
I'm looking to get an SD card for my Insta360 X3 (while its strictly not an "action cam") and was wondering if this is worth getting?

    • +2

The reason you need an endurance card for dash cams and security cams is because of the constant writes which a normal camera or action camera will not be doing. This will be perfectly fine for normal camera/action camera use.

Oh and don't listen to anyone that tries to sell you a Samsung pro or Sandisk extreme card claiming they are 'faster', there is no real world benefit in cameras and they run almost identically. Their faster advertised speeds are unachievable in the vast majority of devices since they use proprietary protocols to achieve those speeds.

    • Dash cams and security cams get overwritten many times. Are you using your Insta360 X3 very often to warrant the "endurance" version?

BTW - I ordered two of these EVO select cards for my Insta360 X3 camera today/yesterday. I haven't got them yet, but I did try the insta360 with an older 128 GB evo plus and it seems to work fine. I believe the EVO Select is just Amazon's version of the EVO Plus. So I imagine it should work fine also. I have previously also used a 512GB Samsung Pro Plus with the camera and that also works fine as expected with faster memory cards.

      • Thanks!
Ordered 1 for my InstaX3 360! Looking forward to it.
