    16.83 off with FEB17 for plus members…

  • How do you mount these? Where would be the ideal use of these? Garage?

    • Made for recess install to tbar ceiling but I guess you could get creative with some bolts n washers if you want to replace a normal downlight and don’t mind it ugly

You can get surface mount frames but frames will prob cost more than the panel

Use it for Garage or shed or other industrial themed open work area

      • Can i just VHB hoops onto it and just chain it to my garage roof?

        • No idea what’s a vhb hoop.
But from the pictures there is no suspension mounts at all. Looks to be plastic body on back.

See my other post below - you just need an S-shaped 35mm bracket.

    • It's 35mm thick - you just need something like this - https://www.jaycar.com.au/solar-panel-mounting-bracket-z-typ… - screwed to the roof and holding the panel in place at the edges.

I've used these conduits and mounted them side ways on the ceiling to form a "rail" for these panels to slide into. I've done this a few years ago using panels from another deal.

      https://www.bunnings.com.au/deta-50-x-25mm-trunking_p4330853

Sits nearly flat on the ceiling. Make sure to use plaster screws. I've used them to replace downlights in the house. Doesnt look the best, but you get used to it and they light up the house very well.

      • ah v smart. thanks!

  • Very decent price after FEB17 or FEB15.
These seem very interesting, just grabbed 5 and will try to toss them on the floor behind my desk, it will probably do a better job than my downlight which shines on my monitor screen.

    Efficiancy?

  • Shame they're not surface mount

    • You can mount them however you like, including surface mount, as per the description.

  • Does anyone have any instructions on how these can be hooked up in series as per description?

    • Why in series? The lights comes with a plug and can be plugged into any plug base.

      • So that multiple can turn on with one switch/socket?

        • Sorry, I don't understand the question. These are just plug in lights - they will turn on in whatever way the sockets are wired.

Are you asking this because your existing power sockets are not wired to a single light switch ?

Or do you not have the power sockets installed yet ?

          • @Nom: One of the features of this light is as per below:

− Easy and quick series connection thanks to simple plug system

I assume by reading that, that you can buy cables of various lengths with connectors that plug straight into this and into the next panel.

            • @The Hobo: Ah. Like a daisy chain? Seems like a terrible idea haha. It means one damaged panel means everything downstream will go out.

Better to get the right gauge wires and plug bases from bunnings and create a string of plugs. Panels are then standalone.

Use a lic electrican where needed.

              • @shadow131: daisy chain yes, however depending on how the plugs and cables are implemented in the panel, it could be in parallel.

I imagine there would be a recommended limit of panels that would be stipulated as well.
