      It's very similar in a lot of ways but no - it's kinda clunky, not as refined - it's a much older game. it's still a very great game though, especially at this price

      The one way it is actually better is that it they unlocked 60 fps on ps5 . Something very lacking on rdr2 - such a waste :(

      RDR is the original and the best. This is the story line after RDR2

      Clunkiness of a 2010 game aside - if you loved the story, I would highly recommend playing RDR! It continues from where RDR2 ends, and IMO the story of RDR is equal or better than RDR2.

      I remember finishing RDR on the PS3 back then.. and I was speechless by the end of the game.

      Graphics obviously not as good as RDR2 (because it was created many years ago). Pacing in RDR1 is better than RDR2. The fast travel in RDR1 is way better than RDRII (once you setup a camp in RDR, you can setup a way point and fast travel there). The game is a simpler (i.e. you don't need to worry about eating). However, RDR1 has less save slots (I played the XBox version on Series X, and only 3 save slots).

      RDR1 can be a bit glitchy at times (in terms of control). I am blaming the game instead my fat fingers. RDR2 probably has higher entertainment value overall due to its realism, but it can feel a bit annoying at time. I found RDR1 more enjoyable to play as a game. Both games have the usual your partners want you to hurry up when you try to loot dead bodies annoyance.

      Like RDR2, you need to play past all the initial training quests and give it a bit of time before the story really picks up and the game gets more fun to play.

          yep its the one they patched - its nor rdr2. its rdr1 and also includes undead nightmare which is another great game unto itself

      Where do the perks codes get sent?
      I joined perks and used one code right back at the start. I still get perks emails but get no monthly voucher.

        You only get one code when you join and they sometimes send out codes every 2-3 months or so for % amount off. There isn't monthly code.

        If you have another phone number & email you can get the $10 off again.

    I didn't even know you could get the first Red Dead Redemption on PS4. Is it just a straight port of the 360 version without any enhancements? Must play like garbage compared to current games. RDR undead nightmare was tops back on the 360 though.

      Came out August last yr. Yeah I think there's minimal improvements besides resolution etc.

      FSR2 support means better anti-aliasing. Improved shadow resolution. Check digital foundry review. Game itself is basically the same, and that unfortunately means even the game UI interface remains 720p (scaled up to 4K).

      PS5 - FSR2 to 4K
      PS4 Pro - FSR2 to 4K
      PS4 - FSR2 to 1080p
