      Depends on how much data you use but if you are only using for Maps, Internet and WhatsApp 10GB or 20GB should be enough.

My alternative is to just scratch by with those 'roaming' options that you can get with our local provider.     eSIM must connect to a supported network and be used within 90 days of purchase to avoid expiration
    Does 'used within 90 days' mean it must be activated within 90 days, or if must be used entirely within 90 days? I have a trip to Taiwan that will end on 31 May, 101 days from now.

    Just ordered 2 sim cards - Asia Explorer SIM Card 12 Countries 30 Days. Going to Singapore and Japan.

    The instructions on your web site say insert sim card on arrival to activate. Is it ok to insert day before we leave?

    I did this with sim cards from another supplier for a trip to Singapore/Bali. Sim card activated as soon as we landed and saved mucking around inserting sim cards at airport.

    I bought a sim card from this company for overseas trip. After activation my phone was governed by ads even cannot use any app by the ads. I found an app named with Chinese letters and could not delete it. When I clicked it "Sim Card Tools" displayed. After came back to Melbourne I did factory reset with the sim card inside the phone. Still the app was there and could not delete. I removed the sim card and did factory-reset again. Then phone was free from ads and the app had gone. So I am sure the sim card was a gate of flooding ads. So be careful with the sim cards from this company. I will never buy from this Chinese company. Yeah… I am sure this is a Chinese company as most ads were from China.

      Hi there

      Just some clarification - if you used an Android phone and bought our Asia SIMs using the provider "CHT (Chunghwa Telecom)" the "Chinese app" you are talking about is a SIM Toolkit application. The SIM toolkit application is there in case you need to top up or reset the SIM card (if it is not working) and it is not ads in anyway.

      If you removed our SIM card the "SIM Toolkit" will be gone. Note this is how Android phone displayed the SIM settings (i.e. by way of app icon), in an iPhone for example this SIM toolkit is burried in Settings > Mobile > SIM applications (so it will not be displayed as an app). You are not able to remove this because it is the actual settings of the SIM card.

      When you access internet using our "CHT" SIM it will route to Taiwan, which is why the website think you are in Taiwan and the ads displayed will be in "Taiwanese" which also uses Mandarin. This is the same as for example if you used a Europe SIM based in Spain, the ads displayed will be in Spanish.

      Hope this clear things up.

        Let me show you an example.

        This would be the "App Icon" you are referring to.

        if you click into it, it is actually the settings of the SIM. If you go into the "app", in this example, the particular customer is showing us the "SIM status" (as the SIM was not working). There is no ads or anything.

        And in this is the example what the iPhone's settings would look like - as you can see it is not shown as an "app" but burried in the settings menu. If you go into it you can see the same menu on Android.

        PS: we are currently in the process of changing all our physical SIMs so going forward the "app" will be in English called "SIM Toolkit or STK"

There were a few eSIMs that were expiring in the deal (clearly marked) but I think they were going to expire on around 30 June 2024 so even those would have been good for you.

      Not sure where you read that from but DTAC is a very close second after AIS in Thailand. We have sold plenty of DTAC SIMs with 0 complains.

      For Singapore our SIM can work with M1 and Starhub network - which is more than sufficient.

        Thanks Anton - but oops too late - I'm currently awaiting your team's response to see if they can help out because contrary to my understanding and our conversation here (and the email that came with the eSIMs), it IS possible to activate and use in Australia so I'm going to be short by about 10 days…

        Really suggest the point about not turning on data roaming is made very clear (for a start, just putting that line in the email that comes with the eSIM), and also to look into the statement that CHT SIMs will only activate when connected to a supported network.
