Ah what can't chat gpt do…

        Be funny.

  • You can’t go wrong with an ultra gear

    Karl? Is that you?

  • +13

    Which LLM generated this garbage

    • -8

If you want more generated garbage you should check out Open AIs Sora announcement, absolutely garbage technology who would ever use it!

      • +1

Genuine question, what good do you see coming from Sora?
        Seems it'll be great at
        - filling up YouTube with generated slop
        - bringing the credibility of every video into question
        - putting creatives out of work

Not even talking net positive, I struggle to see any positive at all

        • +1

It puts a powerful creative tool into the hobbyists hand. Small filmmakers don't have the budget to hire professionals so it's not like it will replace anyone for them. I'm sure there's people out there with way better ideas than Hollywood but will never see the light of day due to the red tape and they seem to be happy rehashing the same old ideas over and over again and not creating anything new and unique, that's what I'm most excited about I've already seen some amazing visual content using mixed media with the help of AI that you could not achieve without it. Your points are valid but

          • YouTube is already filled with brainrot content, this generated slop can't be much worse
          • This is the most valid point which is why legislation needs to be made surrounding AI, as they say the future is now old man, but it seems those old men who make the laws are oblivious to AI currently, the same people who use their junior staff members to do all the tech work for them.
          • When I was in uni studying for my bachelor's in IT back in 2015 they predicted that 40% of jobs would be automated by AI by 2030. We will see about that prediction but it seems very far off at this stage. At this stage it has only created more jobs and not taken them away so we can only assume that will happen, also the general usage of this should be smaller creators who cannot afford to make films will now be able to realise their ideas and potentially be scouted and have the budget put behind them to turn it into a "real" thing. Also it's not really the creatives fault but the absolute horse shit that's been churned out as "entertainment" the last few years I'm all for something new and refreshing
        • Also my comment was more to say it's impressive how far the tech has come, of course there's some bugs to iron out with the demos they've shown. Hard to see how it's "garbage" technology but each to their own. AI will be integrated into our day to day lives no matter what so it's good familiarising with it now rather than later. It's all up to humans how they use it, whether to assist or support humans and make their lives easier or are we just going to use it to exploit the work force even more? Probably the latter but that's the fault of greedy humans and that's who we should be mad at, not the AI

        • +1

Also I'll add to the credibility point is that video editing and photoshop has been at the stage where we've had to question credibility of videos and photos the last decade so it's not really a new issue that's arrived with AI

Does this support VRR over HDMI?

  • +3

for the past 6 months this monitor has been selling for around $420

    • Yeah worth keeping an eye out for eBay coupon deal

  • +15

    1440p

    • +5

Why are people downvoting a useful comment?

The comment provides the resolution of the monitor which the lame attempt of humour description is lacking. (And yes I can see QHD in the title)

      • +9

Because it's being read as it being a negative (that its 1440p) and at 165hz and this price it's very much the expected resolution… 4k with 165hz would be a lot more and not to mention you'll need to have a 4090 to hit anywhere near those refresh rates at 4k…

      • A lot of people on monitor deals don’t like spec’s being posted

Thanks commenter, you’re doing gods work

    • That is a very important info on a monitor.
      To be exact, it's 2560 x 1440 resolution.

  • This vs MSI G321Q. Which one is better?

    • If you're thinking of the MSI one just letting you know this promotion is on https://www.umart.com.au/promotions/1418

Unsure of what the value of the GC will be though. I would just compare brightness and colour accuracy and make decision based off that .

      • +2

GC appears to be $30 on that monitor.

        • Thanks how did you get the figure? Trying to find out specific values for each but can't find any.

    • https://www.digidirect.com.au/catalog/product/view/id/91393/… as someone who personally owned the MSI G32CQ4-E2 my only gripe with it were the ports were a real son of a- to access, they're hidden but it's hard getting into a position to tell what port is what and you have to go by feel putting it in (thats what she said)

    Dead internet theory

  • Been pretty happy with mine for complement to my 4k 120hz monitor
Works well for gaming and productivity and I've had no issues with it

  • Screen tears and the g-sync disappears the moments your FPS goes below 60fps, so make sure your graphics card and settings are good to always achieve that.
I'd rather at least have it work down to 48fps like the other monitors.

    https://www.nvidia.com/en-au/geforce/products/g-sync-monitor…

  • Would say if you’re used to 1440p at 27 inch, don’t go for this unless pixel density isn’t an issue for you. Beyond this, the ips panel and response time on this seems good.

    • Nah it takes a day to get used to it but there's so much more real vertical estate, it's great

    • 32" @ 1440p is fine for 99% of people

32" @ 1080p is horrible for everything but gaming and movies

  • I just wonder if the LG UltraGear 32” QHD 165Hz 1ms has two different models for IPS and VA panels?

  • Replaced this monitor with an Ultrawide but this monitor was fantastic for the time I had it.

  • +1

Great monitor, got it 6 months ago, so happy with it. I have a 4k monitor too, side by side, you dont notice the difference in resolution in games tbh

    • How far away do you sit from them?

      • I sit pretty close, maybe 60cm

  • I'm considering this monitor, do you know of any other similarly priced 32" 1440p 120hz+ monitors that you would recommend?

  • G-SYNC Compatible!! Doesn't mean it has a G-SYNC module.
