If you drink the waste water container it may be close enough to some instant coffee

  • Bargain price!
    Great machine

This is the lowest price I've seen, considering I paid for $1,499 on Prime days and thought it was the cheapest ever, sighh…

  • good price. I bought it at launch and it is worth every penny. Highly recommend.

  • Oooooft. I thought $1499 was a steal.

For the $233 more - it’s been worth the few months of non manual vacuuming bliss and wife happiness

  • New generation models launching in April/May perhaps

  • This or S8 pro ultra?

    • S8 pro ultra

      • What's the main difference? Object detection?

      • It’s worth $500 more?

      • This - I wouldn’t want to have to clean the S8 docking base. And they do get filthy

Revo it’s just pull it out, rinse and most of the time that is it

      • would like to know why too

Did a fair amount of research by comparing this with others models main reason for me is object avoidance and as upstairs we have mainly carpet so dual rollers is important, which is why i opted for s8 rather than the q revo.
The camera makes a massive difference to the ability of the vacuum to detect and avoid. This was a must have for me, we have had multiple vacuums in the past ones with Lidar and sensors.
My kids are awesome at leaving things around the house at 3 and 7, so a vacuums that avoid toys, cables etc is great.
We currently have a Dreame L20 Ultra on the
ground floor its been great at avoiding the kids stuff and is near set and forget for juat about all functions. We have been looking for another one for upstairs which the s8 is priced right.
We didn't opt for another Dreame as we have no where to plumb it upstairs and given most of the areas carpet the s8 meets this requirement better

It depends on your budget and needs, everyone is different.
          .
          Hope that helps people looking.

          • @rexy_boi: Chose the Q8+ for the exact same reason. Its strange that this older 7 model has a higher original price than the 8…

          • @rexy_boi: Appreciate the comment. It makes me decide to go with a cheaper option. Only the media room is carpeted. The kids are aged 9 and 13.

Each to their own. I bought the Q Revo and genuinely love it, it's one of the best life saver gadgets to have. I personally considered these factors before buying, however DYOR:

      Why Q Revo:
      * If your place is mostly hard flooring throughout
      * Maneuverability wise is quite decent, it's able to detect and maneuver common and small objects on the ground
      * If you prefer to spend less time topping up waters i.e.: bigger water tank means less clean water top-ups and dirty water disposals
      * If you prefer easier maintenance, i.e.: spend less time cleaning the washing tray (the app will tell you when it's too dirty and needs cleaning)
      * The mopping pad is lifted higher, at 7mm off the floor when running on a carpet (S8 Pro Ultra is 5mm only, or 2mm lower)
      * If you're on a stricter budget

      Why S8 Pro Ultra:
      * If your place is mostly carpeted throughout, thanks to the dual rollers underneath which play a big difference to pick up dirts off carpets
      * If your place is full of random stuff on the ground, kids' toys unpredictably lying around (the front camera has a more advanced AI feature)
      * The look & feel is aesthetically more pleasing, I must admit the design is more futuristic, quite star wars-y
      * If you are very particular with the mopping function, the mopping pad is wider thus better coverage, and the vibration modules give better scrubbing and pressure to get better results
      * If you have a bigger budget to spend

      • Can the Q Revo detach the mop programmatically and leave it at the dock?

        • You can program/schedule to do vacuum only if that's your preference, and have the pads removed completely for good. The suction power has 4 different levels: quiet, balanced, turbo, and max - each will gradually increase the performance and its noise level, however it is still a lot more quiet than any older robot vacuums. I have mine set to either balanced or turbo and I barely hear the difference IMHO.

      • The 80ml onboard water tank, how much area can that mop without having to go back and refill?

I'm thinking base station downstairs, I pick this up and take it upstairs for it to mop upstairs, I don't want to carry it down for it to refill and then take it back up etc.

        • It's a case by case scenario, subject to your upstair floor size and water flow setting when mopping (low/med/high). In theory it should be enough to cover up to 400 sqm as per its website.

It may just be the Q Revo setting (other models may have different settings in the app), it has 2 different mop wash settings when it's run i.e.: you need select when the robot needs to return to the dock for mop washing to prevent cross contamination which are either by room (dynamically adapt based on room size and wash mode, which varies per individual so I can't comment on that) or by time (in minutes ranging from 10 mins to 25 mins). I set mine by time to go back to the dock after 25 mins for a quick wash, which typically takes 3 mins set on balanced wash when docked, before going for a second round.

TLDR, in your case, I think it should do the job to mop upstairs if it takes less than 25 mins, subject to your floor size (including bedrooms if necessary, outside of common areas).

mobileciti just beat this at $1268

    • Pretty sure mobileciti is imported stock.

      • Why do you think that? It's local stock.

        • +1

Yeah I probably should’ve checked before commenting. I’m ’that guy.’ I think they used to sell the imported ones but this appears to be the Australian version

    I needed black

    • +1

Same. Wanted this in black, which Harvey Norman stock….but not at this price.
      And it's HN

  • Got mine delivered today. If you face issues pairing, turn off the mobile data while pairing. It confuses the software

    • It also doesn’t support 5ghz wifi but will allow you to select a 5ghz only SSID which caught me out initially. Loving this thing now though!

      • +1

Agreed here. Didn’t think it would be good, but seems excellent (family members lobbied hard for it).
        Very addictive watching the map!
The zoning is cool and heaps of options to vac then mop etc.
Also like how it self cleans the mop pads and avoids cross contamination between rooms.
