  • Assuming this doesn’t include the 7-Eleven Activ Visa?

    • +1

It does. It can use to pay petrol if that’s what you after

      • That’s the one, cheers

Stacking with 8c/L discount, even with just the standard cashback this makes Coles Express the cheapest fuel in my area

        • Can I just ask how to use this giftcard. I have one from one of the previous deal. I have activated it and added it to my iPhone wallet. Wallet see it as a physical gift card, so Apple Pay does not work in a 7 Eleven store. I tried paying with it using as a Visa credit card, and the payment got declined. I have contacted the card issuer. First they said that I need to contact my 'Wallet', just washing their hands off. In next call they confirmed that my details are correct and the card is showing active, but the IVR said that the card is not valid. Their IT services were going to look into it, but nothing heard yet. The card issuer customer services does not recognise this as a 7 Eleven card, but as a VISA Activ card. I am just going around in circles. Anyone else with similar issues?

          • @spal: Wallet should see it as a prepaid Visa card, at least that’s what mine is showing after buying this deal

            • @BargainsGrabber: I agree with what you say. But, it looks like I am victim of an IT glitch at their end, and they are refusing to do anything about it. Anyway, it was only $50, with $7.50 in cashback.

              • @spal: Add to the wallet and select it while paying via Apple Pay and pay like normal cc

                • @shibbu: Done mate, it does not work. It shows up in the wallet as a physical card.

          • @spal: I added to google wallet as a regular credit/debit card and it's showing up as a 7Eleven Visa. Got any Androids on hand?

            • @billbob123454: Thanks mate2. Are you suggesting loading into Google Pay of any friend who has an android phone?

  • 7-11 page is terrible for listing any t&C for this, it just says "used for most purchases in-store*" no explanation of the *.
Has anyone tried using it to pay for gocard top ups?

    • -1

I thought 7 Eleven stopped providing Go Card services in Qld

      • Topped up last week

        • -1

oh sorry yes it will work in non fuel 7 elevens as well

          I have used it

  • +3

I have not been able to get my 7-11 gc working forever, no one at the counter knows how to use it.

    • +2

It’s just a normal prepaid Visa card so just add it to your wallet and tap and pay

      • I have done that, and it shows up in the wallet as a physical card, so I can't use it to pay.

        • Mine has visa written on the Apple wallet card

          • @Capitalshark: Mine has VISA written too, but the wallet says it is a physical card.

            • @spal: sorry, what do you mean by Apple Wallet says it's a physical card? i've never seen/heard of that before, would you post a screenshot?

              • @tonester: That error shows up only if I am at the store and trying to use it for Apple Pay. I have only ever tried it once though at the 7 Eleven store. Yesterday, Apple Pay was declined by Maccas App.

    • +1

You don't tell them. You pay like it's a credit card.

      • Sorry mate, I have tried. How do you pay like a credit card? Staff helped me in adding it to the wallet and activation. But it appears as a physical card, which can only be paid by swiping.

        • How do you pay like a credit card?

With Apple/Google Pay. Tap your phone as if it's a physical card.

        • But it appears as a physical card, which can only be paid by swiping.

Read back what you just wrote…

    • I had mine show up as a barcode. Turns out you have to select 'payment card' not 'gift card' when you add it to Google wallet.

      • I was told to add it as a credit/debit card. That is what I have used.

  • as it's a prepaid Activ Visa card, is it the same as the Activ Visa Petrol & Auto card, and so can be used almost anywhere?

fyi re rewards-remaining counter issue, the time delay between transaction and bonus Westpac tracking (as opposed to standard cashback) has been about 15min

  • Can’t add to wallet? Do I have to wait for the card to be activated? Just says invalid, asks me to try again or do it later. I’m on iOS.

    • Once you have purchased and click through the gift card on ShopBack, it should prompt you to enter your personal details
Then it’ll show the credit card details which then you have to input it manually on the apple wallet

      • The terms and condition says that it takes 24 hours to activate the card itself.

        • if it still says invalid after a day, then unfortunately it's perhaps a case of the dreaded Blackhawk Apple Wallet Invalid Card Issue (also check in these comments), meaning that no more of their cards/brands, including Activ and Ultimate, can be added until Blackhawk resolves it, or possibly waiting a week before trying any again :(

          • @tonester: This must be it then. If I call their customer service and put in the card details, it comes up as incorrect card number or an inactive card number. However, the customer service insists that it is showing active at their end. Go figure.

          • @tonester: Yes, that’s what I have. Argh I need to top up my car today.

  • Just be careful in buying this card. Please see my comment above, and reports from other users too. It works for some, and some have issues.

  • +2

these is very easy to use, not sure why there are so many people having trouble adding the card

    • I did not have any issuing in adding the card. It just does not work in the wallet. Something else is going on, it could be just my card.

      • what happens when you try and pay? do you tap and go and it doesnt work?

        • Yes, exactly that. It default to other cards on my wallet. If I then try and select this card, it says on the right hand side top corner, physical card.

          • @spal: Is this Google pay? My normal debit is default but I swipe over to this card when I want to pay and then it works as normal

      • Have you tried deleted it from your wallet and re-adding, making sure to select payment card and not giftcard?

        • Maybe that is something I should try and see if that works. Thanks mate.

          • @spal: Deleted it. Now I am unable to re-add the card back. It says invalid number.

            • @spal: can you add a different Blackhawk card?

              • @tonester: Thank you. I don't have any other Blackhawk card. However, I was able to add as 'previous cards' back into the wallet. I called Blackhawk again. In the call validation process, the card number comes up as incorrect. This issue is definitely at their end. All other cards in my wallet are working without any issues.

          • @spal: I've deleted and readded the same card w/ gpay no problems, certainly sounds like you've got a dud card.

    • Are you on Android? Seems like most issues are with iOS.

  • Ok, for the wise here.

Is there any other way to use this card other than thru Apple/Google pay on your phone.?

  • +1

A $2 CB on most cards gets more votes than this, hesitant with all the issues highlighted above.

    • +3

Westpac bonuses typically get less votes cause not everyone is with Westpac

  • +2

Used it last time this was offered and had no issues.

Others in the previous thread said it could be used at other servos too

  • Have used it once and had 0 issues, worked instantly!

  • I understand there are no split payments, so do I need to fill up the $50 worth of petrol to be able to use it?

    • +1

I was able to do split payments with two activ visa cards

    • I was only allowed 2x times, be it GC or CC. Not allowed 3rd card.

      • Have done a 3 way split all with these cards, no problem.

        • good to know i shall try next time another store!

    • You can split 3 ways

  • Can you purchase multiple?
NVM I just read bonus cashback is limited to one account

  • "This challenge is not avialable to you", either i was untargeted, or it all gone!

  • never used one of these before with 7/11 and don't buy petrol there very often either, can you split the payment? i.e. if you buy $70 in petrol and you have a $50 card, you pay the $50 off the total and can pay with a different method for the other $20?

    • +1

split is fine. beware max cards (GC or CC) is 2.

    • Yes you can split but its not limited to 2, I've done a 3 way split with these.

    • Depends if the servo attendant is having a power trip on the day or not. I've been refused to before for no reason at all.

      • wow, that isn't a great experience if that is the case……I hope that doesn't happen when I try to use it

  • Does anyone know what if any gift cards 7/11 sell? Would be a good option to pick up a discounted GC using this card if you didn't want to use it for fuel or just wanted a clean $50 spend without worrying about remaining balances or split payments.

    • My local had the range of TCN him, her, teen, etc

    • Can you even use these cards to purchase gift cards?

      • +1

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to. I haven't been down to check stock/try it myself yet but if I do I'll report back my findings.

      • +3

Went into my local last night and ended up using this card to buy a $50 TCN Him card without any issues.

The range available was as below:

        Apple - $20, $30, $50, $100
        Google Play - $50, $100
        TCN Him & TCN Her - $50
        Visa Gift Card - $50, $100, $250, $400 (will have activation fees)
EFTPOS Card - $100 (will have activation fees)
        Steam - $20, $35
        Roblox - $25
        PlayStation - $50

  • can I use it to purchase another gift card?
